Ita not that he has matured he was in with some of the biggest domestic names through his career and had to speak up more to get noticed. Him and Kevin Mitchell had so much more talent that never came to fruition..
Yes he was a quality fighter. That right hand that he dropped Froch with (in front of 80k at Wembley...) was a genuine wallop. Amazed that Froch got up from that.
@@JuxtaPositionings Yep Froch had a chin on him but that right hand from Groves made his eyes go all glazed over as he went down. I think hitting the canvas probably woke him up again lol.
Always liked George. Rooted for him in both Froch fights, and his fight vs Eubank jr was the first PPV I ever actually bought. Great career and good guy 👍
Always had respect for Groves he did things his own way , wasn’t a yes man , made some mistakes along the way but learnt from them and was always in a good fight. Anyone else notice his tatts have gone ?
George was a really good boxer in his prime. Unlucky with the first froch fight, and didn't cross the line on world titles to many times. But won one in the end and was great to watch. We didn't know what we had until it was gone.
I think he looks (fairly) healthy. Obviously not in fighting shape but he doesn't look like Naz either. He could still get the better of the vast majority of us without even trying.
George Groves has forgotten more about boxing than many experts will ever know! A class act, in and out of the ring. I also LOVE how him and Froch are now close friends. Groves should be a full time commentator for SkySports Boxing. He’s a level above. Legend!
Groves is quite rare in boxing, in that he seems genuinely happy in the early years of retirement. Much more to come from him it seems. Of course, at 34, he's still a boy!
George's story of defeat and then success has fans feeling so warm and proud if him and so imagine how he must have felt? Glad to see her is getting some interesting chat going and seems happy, him and Froch were the beginning of this new era of grudge matches and stadiums filled regularly and it went further than those loses for Groves of course, that doesn't define him as he still become a great champion.
That’s London food for ya. Eating bacon and French fries for breakfast with a mars bar after. No, hold on a moment, it was double bubble with beans, doner meat and French fries.
Nice to see Groves looking alright. Sounded a bit punchy in some other interviews I had seen a while back, but looking well and speaking well. Great fighter
Groves actually had the ability to have achieved way more than he did i honestly believe he could have beat the cobra at some stage in his career. Great boxer
@@hotpotat0es yeah I watched both and he was well in the fight till he got clipped, the guy was a phenomenal boxer on his day he could have is what I'm saying yes we all know he didn't twice but imo I believe he could on his day.
Groves' split with Adam booth is a real shame. I used to love Groves' style back then, was like a mini David Haye. Whatever went on with them, and whoever was the the truly injured party, all that aside I think they worked as a boxing partnership. Groves was a smart and adaptable boxer, but no style fitted him better than Booth's
Eubank struggled against him because he's not that good. Eubank looks good when he's fighting nobodies, when he fights a dangerous opponent he looks bang average
Love bullard! Wasn't it always sparred with? For example: rare footage of Nigel Benn sparring with Roberto Duran? Has it changed now or is this an error in the title?
George was a worthy champion, well spoken, undamaged and always a smile from ear to ear. I think he is a great ambassador for boxing 👊.
George is always a good interview, he's matured a lot as a person. Really underrated too when all is said and done.
George was bloody tremendous
So much more mature since his transplant
Absolutely agree 👍

Great character is our George, stayed humbled throughout his career and after, and really knows his boxing without talking crap like Johnny Nelson!
Why did Jonny nelson catch astray at the end 😂
I sat next to him on a flight to new York after the first froch fight. He was such a nice guy, happy to share his time with us.
Always liked George. Rooted for him in both Froch fights, and his fight vs Eubank jr was the first PPV I ever actually bought. Great career and good guy 👍

He was robbed of his greatest victory, too.
@@ant9925 no Badou Jack best him fairly .
Wanted him to beat froch
Also that he has more hair , must of gone to turkey
The two midgets in the middle make George look absolutely huge lol😂
George's hair has had an amazing comeback
He's really matured into a lovely guy...big fan and would love to see him in the ring again.
The older George gets the more I respect him. Looking happy and healthy these days, and in life that's all that matters.

Great Boxer never gave up and well deserved World Title. Had so many ups and downs great career 👊
Miss watching George box, was always a cracking fighter. Really glad he managed to get the world title he deserved before bowing out.
If anyone wants to watch an older fight of George's which was an absolute tear up search his fight Vs hard as nails scot Kenny Anderson
A true champion. He was intresting to watch him grow as a man, he never gave up dispite the odd set back and he eventually became a world champion.
He had one of of the best jabs/hooks I've ever seen carl frampton also had the same kind of jab/hook
Imagine how hard he can punch now with a bit of retirement weight behind him! 😂 Top lad George.
Really good energy from groves here, great interview. Loved him boxing , too fighter
Still laughing at that story now

George had the best jab in the business in my humble opinion.

The push and a pull at the beginning made me crack up 🤣 To this day that is still the best gloves are off

George had the best walk out in boxing imo.
He didn’t look good going out of the ring when Froch knocked him out.
Legit gentleman - George
Man, I always liked his cat tattoo.. Incredible fighter, definitely seems alot different since he's retired not in a bad way though
Looks in good shape
The videos name tells you just how marketable Eubank Jr is
Really nice humble guy - and a wonderful podcast with a real insight into boxing. Top marks
Proper down to earth interviews today with George, love them, the tales, the "Truth " very entertaining xx keep it up !
Class act is George. 🥊
Cut out Liams great comeback when he said ‘you looked about 40 until you went to Turkey and got your hairline sorted’ 😂
george is a good dude
He looks different bruhh, I barely recognized him. Good to see him happy tho
Nice to see Groves looking alright. Sounded a bit punchy in some other interviews I had seen a while back, but looking well and speaking well. Great fighter
“Punchy”?
@finfog4590 Punch drunk, slurring of words. Aftereffects of a long career of boxing, especially ones that involved lots of wars.
@@InvalidTechnique ok. Thanks
Yeh his punchy has gone which is good
George's podcast is IMO the best boxing podcast out there.

George boxed Chris head off. Different levels

Very nice to see George.
How George made 168 i will never know. Ive seen him in person and he's huge
There’s two George groves….literally 😂
He was a 175 pounder, I never why he forced himself to make 168. He sabotaged himself.
