There are some conflicting reports about the Asante-Denkyira War as given By Oral tradition compared to what the historian narrated. Number 1. It is not true Manpong Hene was the first to meet the Denkyira Army at Adunuku. The truth of the Matter is the first group of Ashanti Army to meet the Denkyira Army was the Kumawu under the leadership of Barima Tweneboa-Kodua. This was in line with the directive given by Obere (FAIR) Komfo Anokye as per the sacrifice of Barima Tweneboah Kodua. Number 2. The war was fought in the year 1701 not 1798 as was stated by the Historian. King Osei Tutu I died in 1717. It can’t be possible; the battle took place in 1798. Number 3. Ntim Gyakari was killed, and his head cut off the very day he was arrested. It is not true he was arrested and put in prison before he was killed later. Number 4. It not true that, it was Ntim Gyakari who led the Denkyira Army to Feyiase. The one who led the Denkyira Army was Nana Appiah Tibrukusu Brokoo. He was the one whose head was cut-off at Feyiase. His arrest and killing marked the defeat of Denkyira Army at Feyiase. Number 5. Is not also true Juabenhene Nana Adarkwa Yiadom fought at Feyiase with his Army. Komfo Anokye made them aware that Ntim Gyakari will not come to Feyiase and he will not be part of the War that is why he stopped King Osei Tutu from going to the War front. They devise a plan for Juabenhene and his army to go and hide in a forest very close to abankese3so. This was because Komfo Anokye made Ashantis aware that the entire Denkyira Army will be heading towards Kumasi. Juabenhene can easily walk over the few Armies who will be left at Abankese3so. Whilst the entire Ashanti Army and Denkyira Army Faced off at Feyiase, Juabenhene and his army attacked Abakese3so. The battle became difficult for them, but Juaben was able to walk over them, arrested Ntim Gyakari and beheaded him. This is why throughout the whole Asante Kingdom, is Only Juabenhen who decorates himself with the loots from Abank3se3so. The man who beheaded Ntim Gyakari was, Owusu Akyem Tenten who was the son of Nana Adarkwa Yiadom and his mother from Adanse. He was the one who was given Merantee3hene and was charged to ensure Denkyira Install a new chief but he later worked against the ashantis so he had to run away to Akyem Abuakwa. King Osei Tutu later cancelled the Merante3 hene stool. As of today, there is no Merante3 Hene in Asante Kingdom. So, after Ashantis Victory, when they came to Kumasi, he was to come and answer to King Osei Asibey Bonsu as to why he mounted weak resistance, fearing for his life, He moved the entire Denkyiraman to Jukwa in the Central region. They came back to Abankese3so but that time the areas around had been occupied by the amansie people. So, they returned to Dunkwa and that is where they are living today. Denkyira was part of all the Wars ashantis fought between 1701-1818 afterwards.
