This should be viewed by all long covid sufferers. I'm 3 years in with Long Covid and this is completely on point. I agree be careful around the support groups because we need to calm our nervous systems down and not get ourselves overwhelmed by other peoples well placed anxiety. I'm in stage 2 and do acknowledge that I have the luxury to listen closely to what my body needs, which at this stage is resting after tasks and not over exerting myself. So to all the busy mums and dads trying to deal with Long Covid and pushing through with their obligations, I wish you well because this is a rough journey.
I reccomend prolonged fasting. DYOR on the topic and make sure your in the right health to do it safely. I have seen a great improvement in my LC after a 3 day water fast paired with supplementing RESVERATROL & QUEURCITIN. This triggers autophagy and clears the blood of spike proteins!
Why would you want to live with Longcovid for 3 years? I had my Longcovid solved in 9 days by taking the ArtemiC Rescue and Support combo. There are some vids on YT about it.
Thank you for this explanation. I can only say, this is so true! I'm in phase 3 and close to complete recovery. It is so important to realise that your body is not broken (pls check doctor first). But it is a malfunctioning autonomic system. Safety reappraisal is so important. When the body works, do activities and build up slowly. When the body is stuck, listen and stop pushing and take rest. I'm 16 months from covid infection and almost there. People, don't listen to those who tell you otherwise. Full recovery IS possible. It might take long, but IT IS POSSIBLE. Don't loose your faith.
My heartfelt thanks for taking the time to produce this video. It's so reassuring to be encouraged to allow your body the time it needs to recover, when the message we so often receive implies we should be better by now. I will keep rewatching it as I try to find my baseline 6 months in.
PYou need to treat inflammation. I had terrible fatigue, brain fog, memory cognitive issues after covid. I'm Still recuperating. New doctor treated me with I meg solumedrol IV steroid. Within hours of treatment the pressure I felt on top of my head lifted. Several days later I could think clearer my short term memory lapses improving. My fatigue also is much better. I nap once or twice a week once a day. Not every day twice or three times. Why do doctors ignore treating brain inflammation. It is documented on MRI scans. They know it's there but don't treat it. I thank God I finally found a doctor who treated it. Look for doctors who will give corticosteroids to treat long term covid inflammation. This is what causes long covid!
Well done on your recovery!! I do get slightly triggered when people say 6 months is a long time (that's just because I'm bitter haha) I'd say phase 1 for me was 14 months and then the last few months have been phase 1.5-2 on a good day! Great way of describing it though, I'm definitely going to adopt this terminology!
@Andrei3342 oh lord, I can to remind myself of what this was. Can't believe I work this 7 months ago. Mild improvements, I'm able to make my way around my home more and go for 10-15 min slow walks on good days. But still majority housebound. Not a huge shift but less miserable I guess?😅
Thank you, Eric. This is really very helpful in knowing there is light at the end of the tunnel. This video will also explain to those who don’t understand what we are going through. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
This is possibly the best easy to digest video that outlines the best approach I have come across. Thanks for this content. Your helping so many people in the worst health condition I could imagine. For me it's been named ME/CFS but it's all the same as we know 😁

Thank you Erik, had long covid for several months and your videos helped a lot, wanted to encourage people reading this comment that it’s possible to recover. I know it seems scary and permanent but is not. I actually started to be more happy and enjoy life more after the whole experience. God Bless
Just want to say you saved my life man. No joke. I’m 7 months or so in. At 3 months in I was bedbound and I came across your video. I can’t even tell you the comfort that came over me after hearing everything you said. It felt so good to know I wasn’t crazy. 7 months later here and I feel so much better! I’m out of the bed. Playing video games again, working on my truck and just have a different outlook on life. I still come back to this video to remember where I was :) Thanks man!
57 male. 4 months in. This helped. I thought I was dying! So many tests and DR visits. My lord. Money spent on meds and supplements later I now realize its rest and time. But sheesh what a pain not going to sugar coat it. I pray and believe that I and everyone here gets life back and has a better appreciation for it. LHC unit!
Your immune system has been damaged by the vaccine ,that's why you can't get better .Get your T Cells counted ,they are probably down to single figures .The vaccine is destroying T cells
Im 59 and got covid for the first time fall 2023. Friends said I had superior dna because I had been exposed many times but never tested positive.... until I did. Went to the hospital with what I thought was pnemonia, and was diagnosed w long covid. Been trying to make my way the last 6 months, reading and watching everything. The brain fog is crazy.... feels like Ive been drinking. Didnt drive at all for months. Wishing everyone the best and continue to share info.
Long Hauler here, going on 4 years. Had covid 4 times, mold poisoning and heavy metal toxicity together. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I'm in phase 2 still.
I"m in the 1st phase. It's been really difficult to rest and heal as a single parent. I have POTS/dysautonomia, shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue, brain fog and all sorts of other weird symptoms. when you said"when you feel like you can do something, do 1/4 or 1/2 of that.", I almost started to cry. this was very validating for me. I have had people say that I just need to try and be more active. It doesn't work like that. I"m a telehealth nurse and had a really stressful day and then had to go pick up groceries and a prescription. my lungs were already tightening whil I was working and then with the process of going out, I am now completely exhausted tonight and feel ill. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and perspectives on all of ths.
I’m so very sorry you are struggling, and I can’t imagine going through all of this as a single parent. It is a long journey but we are seeing people recovering. I hope you can find a family member or someone your trust to help out with things especially here in the beginning to allow you to rest and recover as much as possible.
You will be okay ❤️ Just remember that you are human, Other humans have recovered sooooo there is the evidence! Eventually you get so used to synptoms that they don’t even phase you or don’t even worry you. You have to not be afraid of them. You’re body and nervous system is just protecting you with horrible symptoms. Ultimately it’s just doing it’s job. Say thank you to it . Don’t fight it, just thank it for protecting you
I’m 17 years old in my senior year of my IB diploma. I was in phase 2, but after going on a trip with friends and over-exerting myself, I fell back into stage 1. Long Covid is perhaps the hardest thing I’ve had to face in my life, but this video has left me optimistic. I’ve repeatedly believed my life was over, and that I would never escape, but seeing your progression and so many other people’s progression inspires me. Thank you for this
I feel vindicated! What you are describing is exactly what I am going through. I'm in phase two and hopefully near the end of it. Just a bit longer to go, I hope. It's great to know that this will end someday and I look forward to challenging myself physically again. Thank you for sharing.
Wow, you have really hit the nail on the head here, Erik. You described my phase one, perfectly. Not to mention my phase two, which I’m currently in the middle (?) of. You make a very good point about support groups on social media. When I first came to realize I had long Covid, the first thing I did was jump on Facebook to try and find “answers”. I joined a national support group and regretted it. I was way way way overwhelmed by people’s stories and the information they shared about blood tests, medical specialists, medical procedures, and on it went. Do yourself a favour. Don’t go there. I found sourcing info on UA-cam much easier on my brain. And thankfully I found this video, Erik, which affirms things I was already thinking. Thank you for that 🙏🥰!
My nerves have gone crazy since covid, its only been 10 weeks but feels a lot longer. Iv always been naturally nervous but i thought it had caused me to have a nervous breakdown. This is absolutely the best thing iv seen in relation to covid recovery. Iv already been trying to stay calm, i make myself do small duties each day, feed the birds, clean the dishes etc. after being off sick at work, iv halfed my work shift and changed to evenings which is a REAL challenge but i keep turning up. To most people i appear normal but like you said they have no idea. This has given much hope and encouragment to stay strong. Thankyou so much. ❤
I keep coming back to this video. I believe I'm currently in phase 3 after having COVID since August 27, 2023, and it's Maybe been a month in phase 3. But For some reason my sleep anxiety came back for a night and then went away just a few days ago.. I had sleep anxiety/insomnia in second month when I had long covid along with the rest of the crazy new symptoms. I've never had sleep anxiety and insomnia in my life before this. I feel like my nervous system is so out of whack. My sleep anxiety went away but now I'm dealing with this constant urge to keep swallowing even though there's nothing in my throat, it's almost like an anxiety of its own. If I don't swallow I feel like I'm going to suffocate or something, it's weird. It's like every 30 seconds to 2 mins tops I have to swallow... I just tried to take deep breaths etc. also excessive yawning every couple of minutes or more. I believe it's a stress response to my body but I may see the doctor.
Drink soursop tea helps to calm down. Works great. And also Tulsi. Both give you peace so you can work from a better baseline. Tulsi works after a few days! Soursop after you drink it.

Thank you very much for your docomentory, I guess Im in phase 1 with my 10 month of LC. This week I tryed a little bit of swimming and sauna. It felt great when I did it, I almost forgot my symptoms. In general I feel my symptoms the most when Im alone. So I will implement my swimming and sauna now twice a week, after a few weeks I wll start slow exercise like lifting waights, but only 10% of what I did before my infection. Yes it is a very hard and long way to a full recovery, its the most hardest test we are going through in our life. But I also guess it makes us stronger and it leads us to a better and new person we have always wished for. So folks, my lovely people we can get through it, we are strong and powerful. We gonna be legends. Love and peace to everyone out there who are struggeling with this illness.

I was so excited to see this video and listen to it. I am a year and a half out in my recovery. I was just telling my husband that my constant brain fog/fatigue is finally starting to become less which has been wonderful. My anxiety is finally getting better as well. My insomnia kind of is getting a little better. My brain fog/fatigue and anxiety go up when I dont sleep well but I think that is normal. My hair is growing back in slowly but nicely. My energy level is getting better. I would tell myself a lot, "This is just a bad season. It will pass." Mindset was huge for my mental health. To stay in a negative place is not good for ones mind. When I found your channel I was going through that research phase you were talking about in the video. When I stopped searching for answers, I felt better just letting it all go and allowing my body to heal itself like it was designed to. I didnt take any special supplements besides my usual stuff. I added a little bit of extra liquid zinc and magnessium spray besides what is already in my multi vitamin that I take daily. I also increased my foods that naturally had more of these zinc, magnessium, b vitamins, etc. My blood results were so much better in October. White blood cells are finally where they need to be. I increased my organic beef consumption which helped me a lot. So has eating eggs, nuts/seeds, fruit, veggies, etc. I just experimented and tried to figure out what made me feel better and I just kept at it. What works for one person may not work. I liked that you said to "find your baseline" because I believe it will be different for everyone. So glad you shared your recovery. I was just wondering about you a few weeks back while I was working out. You had mentioned you had just started walking. I started working out way to soon but I didnt realize it until after I watched one of your videos where you talked about it. I just scaled back and I am slowly pushing myself more. Sometimes too much and that is ok. It's a learning process. Prayers for your continued healing. 🙏

@@User98681 You've posted this everywhere Liam! What evidence are you basing this on? How can you recommend supplements, are you a Doctor? And what works for you may not work for others and actually could be dangerous!

3:48 Phase 1: Rule out any deeper issues. Then it's all about accepting, reframing negative thoughts, learning the things you can do to relax your nervous system (which is the upstream cause, despite what symptoms may say) 12:20 Phase 2: You're here when symptoms flares reduce and aren't so dramatic. DON'T push to do more. Now is the time to stay the course of what you learned in Phase 1. Keep resting, staying at your healthy baseline,. Think of recovery on a month scale, not a day to day scale, which is too small of a time to see the healing that's happening 15:10 Phase 3: When you start forgetting that you are sick many days, symptoms happen rarely. Now is the time for things like graded exercise therapy, slowly and steadily. General points for all phases: - You can't force yourself to the next phase. Your body will let you know. - This may the hardest thing you ever do. You will recover, but it will take time, and most people will likely not understand. - It's ok to take time to grieve, to acknowledge this will take a long time and you've lost much of your ability to live life as you did for a while. You can't heal until you accept the journey you are on. - It's tempting to look for the next external thing to heal you. However, once you look around and find what helps in phase 1, it's time to move on, trust the process. Stay away from fixating on symptoms. Limit time spent in online support groups if you're not experience direct, uplifting interactions specifically. Thanks so much for putting this together, Erik! While, scientifically speaking, I am not sure that these 3 phases are necessarily true for everyone, having this as a point of reference is incredibly useful, at least for me.
Currently in phase 3. I agree with everything you said, very good video. I still feel some symptoms (chest pain, light fatigue) when walking above 2000 m altitude or jogging for more than 5 km, but in that case I just stop for a while and it's getting better and better. 1 years and 6 months after mild initial infection. Phase 1 lasted 1 year, phase 2 lasted 5 months, and I'm in phase 3 since approx. 1 month.
Hey, I got covid August 27, 2023. I believe I just entered phase 3 about almost 2 weeks ago. I say that because I felt 90% normal for about 12 days straight, had most of my energy back, felt great even, until like 2 days ago. I started to feel light fatigue like your saying, followed by a light heache. But yeah it seems like the flare-ups and less and less, and weaker than before. I still constantly have this burning sensation in my body though that has pretty much never gone away yet, it almost feels like a low grade fever. I'm just hoping I get back my energy fully again and these ups and downs as far as feeling these weaker symptoms go away.
Im 3 years out and The fatigue and nervous system on high alert is the worst. It's one of the most difficult things to get thru and no one really understands 😫
Lots of people here saying they are on 3 months of long covid Long COVID does not start until 6 mlnths plus. If you recovered in that time you just had post viral illness.
Best video I’ve ever watched about long covid. So spot on 🙌. I am currently leaving phase 1 and entering phase 2 of my 2nd long haul and this video gave me the motivation to keep pushing through. Thank you!!
I’ve gone down the rabbit hole looking for answers for months now, but after listening to this video I now know that it just is and only time, rest , breath work meditation and good diet plus acceptance will get me through this illness Thankyou Erik
Great video, you give me such hope and every single thing you say in this video is so true. I've pulled myself away from those support groups and I feel better mentally, praying all long haulers recover 🙏

Have you tried the ArtemiC Rescue and ArtemiC Support Combo yet? They are made for Covid and Longcovid and have been in medical testing to be a treatment.
I'm still in the first phase but I feel like my anxiety flair ups have maybe slightly gotten a little better. Slightly longer durations of feeling ok. BTW I was asymptomatic or maybe slight symptoms like a stuffy nose or mild headache. I didn't know I had it till the dizzy spells and tinnitus hit. When the panic attacks and extreme anxiety hit I was in PURE HELL. Hydroxyzine helps a lot.
One of the most clear overviews of the process it takes going through long covid, thank you, I’ll look at some of your past vlogs. Only thing I can add is that it’s not always a linear process for everyone, an unexpected stressful situation or some other flu bug can make it a game of snakes and ladders sometimes. But finding that baseline again and getting oneself into a good mental space, finding something to enjoy that doesn’t drain the tank, is valuable advice. A good reminder to myself, thanks again.
You’re absolutely correct. It’s not linear. Sometimes moving backwards to the previous phase happens. It’s demoralizing but with the knowledge you gain the first time I feel like it’s a bit easier to navigate your way again.

Omg! This explains everything I've been going through. Physically and mentally. I got covid before it was announced. Had angioplasty and lung x-rays and everything normal. They couldn't find any reason for me to have shortness of breath, heart pain, tingling, extreme fatigue.
I had Covid a year ago. I couldn't work out what was wrong with me! A friend suggested I may have long Covid. I thought I was chronically depressed. Yes, to everything you're saying. Btw, I'm already eating lots of eggs and taking extra magnesium. Also lots of fresh fruit. The brain fog is the worst part!
Great video and insight, i am into my 5th month and i believe i am between phase 2 and 3. Ive had a crazy ride i spent two months pretty much immobile and unable to eat with digestion issues, anything i ate made me so ill with many symptoms. When i could start eating again i started to recover, dropped 30lb in weight due to the lack of food, then the anxiety and panic set in, i am slowly coming away from that. I am starting to be more active and exercise and hopefully get back to work, i am improving all the time just praying for no set backs. Breathing exercises, cold showers, relaxing music all were a game changer for me. Thanks again good luck everyone
Coming up to four years. Sadly, there are no doctors here that are even willing to help. So trusting the process doesn't really work for everyone. Which is probably why I ended up back in phase one. But I also think that moving back into the parasympathetic stage would be vital. Any tips on what to do to fend off numerous life crises around me and in me to get the nervous system to relax would be greatly appreciated.
The three phases you describe are exactly what I went through when I fully recovered from chronic fatigue syndrome when I was a teen. I now have long covid and I totally agree with what you say about finding your baseline and how exercise doesn't work until you introduce it at the right time. However even in the early stages I've always been some kind of movement beneficial even if it's very gentle stretches while lying in bed. Thanks for a great video.

Same.. phase 1 was 4 months. Moved to phase 2 for 2 months. Phase 3 for 2 months. Now back to phase 1.5 for the last 2 months. It’s a hell of a rollercoaster.
Thank you for this! My illness started with the 'notavaccine' in 2020 so nobody wanted to deal with it at all for a while. Finally had the battery of tests on heart, lungs, etc. All fine, thank goodness, but I was no better. My GP was sympathetic and good enough to tell me it wasn't all in my head when I asked if that was the problem. Meanwhile, my temper was raging. I was, and am, furious over the whole vax reaction issue. In '21 I came down with the virus itself, which presented in me as similar to a bad, lingering cold. The shot was much worse. Things have been improving this year, though, and it's been a long time since I've had a 'nope day', where there's just no energy for anything. And now, as I'm listening to you and writing this, I have the stupid thing again, like a bad head flu. Can't help but wonder what my system is going to do with it, but your advice will help enormously. Again, thank you. I really thought I was losing my mind.
I am very appreciative of this video. It was like listening to my own thoughts but just couldn't convey them adequately. Second time for me did start long Covid. The first time I did not have any issues. It's definitely not fun and I didn't know what was happening. I had never heard of LC until I researched why I wasn't feeling better months after this round. This video needs to be number 1 for us suffering through LC, and others that don't have it so they can understand what we are dealing with. I wish I could drop a thousand likes. Thank you!
After 5 months of keeping my heart rate under 100 because that was my threshold, i got Covid again. Anti-virals took out the new infection as well as the long Covid by day 4. That week i felt around 75-85% of normal within a few days and then pretty much fine after a few weeks. Antivirals not *yet* approved for long Covid treatment, but soon.

I had covid one year ago and lost my sense of smell and taste. I never looked into long covid until now and I did because I still can't smell much. I turned 71 in May and thought my brain fog and fatigue, depression and other things were happening because I was getting old. I never thought it could be long covid. I spend a lot of money on supplements but maybe I'll cut back because it really hasn't helped I don't think. I have been so afraid that I am losing my mind. I get so little sleep, I just can"t get enough sleep. I will try your suggestions and hopefully I will be on my way to recovery. I'm glad your video was my first about this condition.
Im a paramedic that got COVID 3x. It was after my last bout that the symptoms started. First for me was mood and cognitive changes. I've been hospitalized twice for psych symptoms that were not normal for me. I am very self aware of my dx disorders. I know how my cycles behave, I learned to control panic, in the past decade I have never had a public panic attack. Im still convincing my doc that this is not a manic episode, despite what it appears. Then the weird stuff started. Like asymptomatic SVT, my watch alerted me to my heartrate being 192. I restarted my watch because I did not believe it. I will say, having half a lifetime of a couple mental disorders has prepared me to convince a doctor that I have an invisible illness, while being ill and not knowing what the hell is going on and feeling like every medical professionals gaslighting you.
I have been dealing with intense fatigue. To the point where I could barely keep my head up. I started taking adderall to help my brain fog and fatigue. I feel almost 100%! I can work almost a full day now and I truly feel almost normal again. This is the best treatment option imho
I'm in year 4 and am still in phase 1 - I very much needed to hear this. There are days I still think I won't ever recover. I wish I'd done as you said - accepted that I was sick, found my baseline, did 1/2 of what I thought I could do, and tried to do whatever possible to calm my autonomic system. I was in such a rush to get back to normal that I'm pretty sure that I did more damage. Take all the rest, folks, and don't push yourself. We're experiencing multi-system dysfunction and it's going to take time for some of us to heal.
This is the BEST video I have seen about this nightmare on UA-cam. There a lot of high brow medical stuff and a lot of scarey story videos which I don't like. I was just looking for some down to earth advice of someone who has walked the walk and can talk the talk and at last I found it. I don't need to look anymore. Erik, Thank you so much mate. You're a Star. Regards, Paul in the UK
Thanks Paul! That’s all I ever wanted this channel to be, my experiences laid out for someone else to use and learn from and ideally give hope to many that recovery is possible because when I was going through the heart of it, there was no information anywhere and it was scary. Thanks for the kind words!

I think I'm in phase 2 based on this video. Lately I can almost make it through a day without taking a power relaxation nap/session. I have dizziness, fatigue, and a metallic taste in my mouth. I did breathwork every morning before I ever had covid, so that was easy, I also take cold showers, which I wondered whether I should stop while suffering with long covid, but have found they've been helpful. What I'm finding now is that when I take a big risk and work out lightly(very lightly), sometimes I'll feel okay that day, but the next day is a rough one. Nowadays, it seems as though my dizziness is pretty handleable. I'm hopeful to reach that third phase.
Sounds Exactly like me! I've had long covid since August 27th so not super long yet but yeah. I now have better days than before. Still slight fatigue and Brain fog/headaches. The first month was the worst! Had crazy dizziness/vertigo, extreme fatigue, extreme brain fog, sleep anxiety/insomnia and sleep apena... One thing I've noticed since almost day one is that my body is constantly warmer than normal, almost like a low grade fever that hasn't gone away.
Erik, thanks for this video, man! Clear and hopeful! I found it this morning, after yet another terrible night, and it’s helped me regroup and refocus. I’m almost two years into my long Covid nightmare, and it’s hard not to lose hope of ever reclaiming my health and pre-long covid personality, so the occasional dose of advice, optimism, and inspiration goes a long way. I’m glad you recovered and thanks for making the effort to help others. Be well. Best, Kyle C.
Thank you Kyle! We all loose hope along the way. But the only way is forward. Don’t put too much pressure in yourself to get better. Healing comes slowly and not always on a linker fashion.

Erik, I think your presentation was excellent. I have been struggling with the effects of long covid since the initial infection. My wife, who is European, came back home with the infection after a short trip visiting her family in France when the airports were shutting down. The crowded, slow-moving conditions in airport customs and packed flights contributed greatly to the spread of the disease. She came home with the infection, and I acquired it shortly thereafter. My main symptoms, over the long term, have been mostly gastrointestinal accompanied by an accute brain fog and dizziness/imbalance when standing. I found that your explanation of the "three phases/stages" of recovery is spot on! That narrative definitely fits my experience. Right now, I feel as though I am beginning stage 3 of my recovery. The elimination of stressors and getting bedrest was critical to getting better. Some of the lifestyle changes I was forced to adapt were not positively regarded by everyone in my circle, but alas, my objective was my survival that was to be reached through mindfulness and emotional well-being. One last point, I did find supplements/vitamins that improved my synptoms they are Vitamin B1 and B12, Vitamin D3, Potassium, Magnesium, NAC, and Ashwaganda (calmness).
This was really helpful. I haven’t been well since I had covid in October 2022 for the first time. Then I got it again in January 2023.. was much sicker that time. Just got home from a ct scan as I’ve lost about 30 lbs due to long covid GI issues. Normal tests and scans. My anxiety is up and down… I just stumbled onto this video. Thank you!!
I was doing so good and then wham covid round 2 and it wasn't as bad but a real set back. This is byfar the hardest thing I've ever experienced in this life and during all of it I lost my husband my marriage ruined he couldn't Handel the new normal I was experiencing and I was left to sink or swim I've had to continue working and have no choice but to push myself which I know slows the healing down it's not fair there should be resources to help critically I'll people trough this hell I'm thankfully that I'm better then I was and hopeful for a full recovery God has however never left I have felt like I was being supported by the universe because no matter how bad it got my home and family rent and responsibilities were taken care of so I'm greatful I know it could have been worse
Thanks so much for this. I’m just starting my journey with long Covid. Finally got my head around it, now trying to come up with a plan and this video helped greatly.
Hi I ‘am 79 and had Covid in January 22 Hope to be in phase 3 very slowly recovering but what a nightmare I live in France and had no support from my doctor because not vaccinated ! All my thoughts to you all suffering so much love to all
I reccomend prolonged fasting. DYOR on the topic and make sure your in the right health to do it safely. I have seen a great improvement in my LC after a 3 day water fast paired with supplementing RESVERATROL & QUEURCITIN. This triggers autophagy and clears the blood of spike proteins!
Thanks, that’s been really helpful. I definitely discovered pushing myself to exercise or do certain tasks was counterproductive. Two days later I’d be racked with aches pains and exhaustion. I’m certainly going to try throttling back more than I have been and just rest and sleep. Trying to do too much definitely makes it worse! Thanks again!
Jeez i wake up in the morning fine go for a couple mile walk get a coffie than come home and the lights go out wake up with tingling toes and lips and its like the blood starts flowing through my body like a river get up and than after a wile have to take a nap again and iv always been so productive now im not
Well done Erik. It is such a strategic illness and so scary. I’m month 7 and have a zillion ever changing symptoms. I have started exercising again for my own mental health but not sure. Hopefully 🤞

Have you tried the ArtemiC Rescue and ArtemiC Support Combo yet? They are made for Covid and Longcovid and have been in medical testing to be a treatment.
Some quick tips from things that are helping me Turmeric, Moringa tea to reduce inflammation, Ashwagandha tea for helping with sleep, Bromelain and Nattokinase for blood circulation and brain
Alongside the common symptoms i had sudden overnight inflamation in the joints of the fingers and it had persisted for over 2 years, flaring now and them. It was not detectable with CRP whic is consistently low 0.3. Now luckely i notice it is improving thanks to suplementation which is helpin tremendously. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms?
Completely relatable - thank you. 100% agree that I had to “let” my body heal itself. Mitigating stress soooo important. Approaching my 2 year mark. Experienced the”3 stages” as you have described it, and in “stage 3”. Still pacing, but at a higher level. Easily walking 3 miles a day and yes, it does feel great. Nicely done.

You need to treat inflammation.
I. Have long covid since march 2020. I.m now in fase 2. It was difficult because in the beginning a have to find out how to deal with this ilnes alone. Docters dont believe you. Thank you for your story. I only dont cope with the music on the background 😂 To much to handle . Maybe also because i.m duch and must also translate everything in my Head 😊 Thank you❤
I finally was feeling better, three years later and boom, got covid again two months ago. I am back to phase 1 . Im tired of being exhausted all the time.
Some great tips and I totally agree. The biggest thing that helped my recovery speed up is to detox, eat clean and healthy, thinking positive and tell yourself you’re going to get better. Look into a mirror everyday and tell yourself you’re getting better
Thank you so much. I am 3 months from when I got ill which it me with vertigo from inflammation around c4 and c5 among a bunch of other typical COVID issues. Physical therapy and pressure point work is bringing my base line back to something normal. The dismissal from doctors has been discouraging but again thank God for the physical therapist. Truly a gifted healer
I am 1 1/2 years in to this disease. I have spent so much time searching online for any and all information. You have nailed it perfectly. The most accurate by far. I appreciate the concise summary. It will make it easier to pass this video along to people in my life so they can understand. Thank you
It’s important for partner to watch some content on long Covid so they can understand and be supportive. It can also e helpful in your recovery as this may pit strains on relationship if they don’t believe it’s real and common.
I love this video and all the comments because I feel so alone. Nobody I know in my environment has these symptoms. Covid made me literally lose my balance, was dizzy for months. Extreme fatigue and moments of heavy overstimulation. Now for more than a year. I went to a doctor and they said my balance nerve was damaged (they did extensive testing). I'm just scared it will never go away 😔 I try to be hopeful but it's difficult because I'm so exhausted all the time, just from doing regular chores. Also thought I was starting to do better, but it has come back unfortunately. I'm going to try and do more relaxation and meditation 🙏 thank you.
Has anyone experienced in phase one impossible to gain weight? I am in month 2 and keep dropping weight. Feel tremory and shaky with higher heartbeat almost half the day. Eating feels like I am eating in the middle of an adrenaline rush. I don’t know how to calm this down.
I had COVID in Feb 2022. Horrific weakness and fatigue. March I got so sick w a bad cold worst I ever had. Fatigue came back and was debilitating! I didn’t start feeling 85% until about august. Well then middle of august I got COVID again for a 2nd time!!!! October I got so sick with fever and bad cold the entire month. Then November another cold. Then January /Feb of this year I apparently came in contact w COVID again for a 3rd time because the dr told me I had a spike in my antibodies. I’m losing my mind!!! I’m always crashing after having one decent day and over doing it. Super frustrating! I’m going to have to restart the clock AGAIN!!!
Thank you so much! Your info has help me understand this so much & where I'm at right in this! And what to do to further my recovery. And that there is hope! And the peace that where I'm at & what I've been doing is on track.
Did everyone on this get tested or is there a test to know if you have long Covid? How do you know for sure? And does your body hurt all the time with long Covid?
Same! I had it 3x in the last 12 months. I can’t seem to get past 80-85% on my decent days. But then I’ll crash for 1-2 weeks after. I honestly feel like I did when I had mono. The body weakness scares me when it happens. How are you feeling now??
Been in for two years now. Wish I had come across your video sooner. A lot of recognition from your story. I'm not there yet, but I've come a long way. Still suffering from fatigue, especially in the afternoon. I hope it gets better and look forward to it. That you for sharing your story😊
Your info has helped me to accept this & what I'm going thru & to quit fighting against this & getting so frustrated with what I'm going thru. Thank you for sharing!
Very well written and said my friend. In phase 3 now and you nailed all of it. Would highly recommend cold showers/water therapy and breath-work in the mix, I believe it can help expedite the process by stimulating the vagus nerve/parasympathetic response. It was a game changer for me.
@@erikhodge2298 Do you ever have small periods of symptoms returning in phase 3 for your and it really freaks you out? I'll have anxiety creep back in when I get hints of some of the weird old symptoms and my body is wondering "is this another relapse?" but so far have been able to lean on the tools I have acquired to help calm the nervous system. Just curious what your experience has been in phase 3.
@@thelittlemoontravelers absolutely. Just the other day I over did it a bit when playing a full round disc golf with lots of hiking. Gassed myself a bit. The next day I was a bit “nervy” but just did what I have learned and talked about on this channel. I felt fine shortly after. That was yesterday. And today I just finished photographing a whole wedding. A very intensive day on your feet all day. That’s the hard part of phase three. Feeling so much better and needing to push yourself but not over doing it too soon and exactly like you said, not freaking out when you do. Just understanding that this is part of the process and necessary.
Hi Erik just wanted to thank you. Your video helped me with accepting that I was 'still' in phase 1 after 1.5 years. Once I stopped trying so hard to become better I quickly reached phase 2. After half a year I now have a relapse that pushed me back into phase 1. And it's okay. I enjoyed many days in phase 2 and I will so again. Watched your video today as a refresher. Bless your heart for posting this, it is truly helpful! Best, Elise (from Holland)
I'm a new covid long hauler. I? In a dark phase. Neurological issues, sleep, anxiety, no smell ,headsche, bones crushing,no taste, confused, can't keep a thought, neuropathy issues heart issues, and sweating. Can't stand eat well. I feel lost. This has helped. I have been in a dark place. Trying to cope. Not sure what to try. Thank uou for your video. Trying to learn how to get through this.
Very insightful video, and very much appreciated. Phase 1 is a bear, especially if you have to carry a stressful job and parenting. And acceptance is not easy given the intense limitations imposed by long COVID. I've been in phase 1 for 16 months, reinfected twice, most recently this February. Finding one's baseline and not straying a beat is definitely a challenge, especially if you're used to being active and relish being able to put your head down and push yourself through challenges. I'm learning that true acceptance involves finding what of genuine value I can mine from the illness. I've heard it said that one has to get to a place of seeing the condition as a gift and I believe that's true. Becoming more patient, more mindful, and less reactive; those are the challenges I have to embrace. If I can actually master those things, I have to believe this experience will have been a gift. I love a good challenge anyway! Good luck and speedy recovery to everyone who's suffering through this malady!
Thank you for your words of encouragement in the video! I got Covid in April of 2022 and still have fatigue and brain fog. Last summer, I was starting to feel a bit better and felt like I was being lazy so I bought a bicycle and went cycling. BIG mistake! My fatigue came back with a vengeance. Now I feel zero guilt about taking a cat nap in the computer chair at home. I just hope I didn't cause a major set back by forcing myself to exercise last summer? I'm kicking myself now of course! I'm also dealing with an ailing, elderly parent and a stressful job. This is adding to my nervous system not being able to relax. Having GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) certainly doesn't exactly help matters.
I am so grateful for this video, I just wish I had seen it earlier. I was in phase 2 a couple of months but pushed myself to hard (or got reinfected), and went back to phase 1. Here I am in phase 2 again, and this helped me a lot.
I’ve had long Covid for 3.5 years. I think I’m in stage 2, because I’ve stabilized a lot, and been stable for many months. (Extremely low baseline though, totally bedridden.) but lately I’ve noticed some worse flare ups. Not as bad as I was initially, just worsening symptoms and more ups and downs again. Does that mean I’ve gone back to stage one? Should I re-stabilize before trying to increase activity?
@@audreymatson3577 you can move backwards in a phase. If you don’t feel like you can go through your day without much issue doing normal activity, do not push yourself do more.
Hi, I know when you made this video you said you were in stage 3. I wanted to know have you progressed since? Is there a stage 4 or are you completely done with symptoms? Thank you for your time and this wonderful video.
Yes, don’t feel like you are beyond healing due to how long it’s been. This condition is appropriately named LONG Covid and it lasts far longer than we expect or believe we can handle. There is life after long covid.
Hoping you get better soon, I'm two years in, only relief for me has been OTC Claritin and saline nasal spray, I'm trying everything to no avail. I'm wondering if anything helps you at all? The breathless and exhausted feeling is depressing. Wishing you the best
Hello .I've been in the long covid journey as past year now ..my symptoms have eased up like chest pains .fatigue, lack of interest and interaction with crowded areas .loud noise places...the thing is ..I devilped tinnitus and earworm when my symptoms all started..I keep hearing music all the time and even tv ads .UA-cam ads can trigger and stick in my head and loop for hours even weeks ..its has got a little bit better .I seen audiology and my hearing is really good .had ct scan on my brain ,it was clear too ..physically im getting stronger each month .but the neurological side of things is still haunting me ...im just curious as to know if you have heard of anyone else with these symptoms as I only ever heard one other person on covid healing say they had tinnitus due to it ..my doctors haven't a clue what to say to me ..they seem to know very little about long covid ... is it possible the virus has damaged the nerves in my ears causing this phantom musical sounds and tinnitus??? Thanks for your videos as you said everything that I have went through in the past year 🙏
I have hear many people report tinnitus from long COVID. I personally never experienced it. Unfortunately since I have no experience with that specific symptoms I don’t have a lot to weight in on. That sounds like it would get real old real fast. I know the autonomic nervous system can effect so many different systems in the body, I wouldn’t be surprised if it effected the auditory.
YES ! it made my tinnitus worse, but the earworm, my God i thoughti was going senile/crazy with the repetitive intrusive advertising jingles and stupid songs ! It must be an over active brain structure. Read _The Woman Who Changed Her Brain_
I have developed tinnitus and I keep posting songs in my head. Didn't think anyone else would have the latter. Not sure what to do about it other than immerse in watching TV or something.
Not many people understands all this because they only get sick for a week i have had it 2 year mark in august 2023 got it august 2021 1 day after second vax. Sleep is my best friend i am just recovering very tired to cook partner can do the take out thing i have to look after me for a change some days are getting so much better the only signs left is sleep and gastric problems still thanks for your imput
Hope this doesn't sound like criticism or discounting your experience but once a person gets the jab there no way to tell which symptomss are from the jab and which are long covid. Unless you have a stroke or heart attack - then we know it was the jab.

So when you say “healing” what in your opinion is actually healing inside us? Once the acute infection is over, do you think it’s all a nervous system thing?
This should be viewed by all long covid sufferers. I'm 3 years in with Long Covid and this is completely on point. I agree be careful around the support groups because we need to calm our nervous systems down and not get ourselves overwhelmed by other peoples well placed anxiety. I'm in stage 2 and do acknowledge that I have the luxury to listen closely to what my body needs, which at this stage is resting after tasks and not over exerting myself. So to all the busy mums and dads trying to deal with Long Covid and pushing through with their obligations, I wish you well because this is a rough journey.
Well said. Pushing through obligations can be a huge hurdle.

Why would you want to live with Longcovid for 3 years? I had my Longcovid solved in 9 days by taking the ArtemiC Rescue and Support combo. There are some vids on YT about it.
Bloody hell 3 years... I am absolutely desperate after 15 months! Whenever I think I am improving... Bang! Back to square 1... Well 3 let's say!
@@erikhodge2298yes, working full time is horrible. Just crash and burn over and over
Thank you for this explanation.
Thank you for the kind words! This is the video I wish I had had 3 years ago.

Well done on your recovery!!
I do get slightly triggered when people say 6 months is a long time (that's just because I'm bitter haha)
I'd say phase 1 for me was 14 months and then the last few months have been phase 1.5-2 on a good day! Great way of describing it though, I'm definitely going to adopt this terminology!
hey, wondering if you’ve seen any progress since writing this
@Andrei3342 oh lord, I can to remind myself of what this was.

4 years long covid here…..😢
Thank you Erik, had long covid for several months and your videos helped a lot, wanted to encourage people reading this comment that it’s possible to recover. I know it seems scary and permanent but is not. I actually started to be more happy and enjoy life more after the whole experience. God Bless
Thank you for this. Every time I hear that someone has recovered (and it's more and more now), it gives me hope which I didn't have for a long time. 🙂
Yeah you got this.
Thank you for this too ! I have been suffering for months as well. Great video Erik.

I’m so very glad it helped you! It’s such a hard journey and any bit of hope can go a long way. Thanks so much for sharing!
I’m so happy for you! What were your symptoms?
LHC unit!
Your not dying scott! We need you too much for us to let that happen!
Thought I was dying and sometimes wanted to.
how are you now?
I feel for you . I'm a lone parent with two children . It's so tough .... Take any moments you can to rest . Yoga nidra is fab
@@EllaSloman thank you. Im sorry you are going through this as well.
@@erikhodge2298 thank you.
You will be okay ❤️

Seeking out a doctor is pointless, they know exactly squat
@janejenkins5137 I think a lot of GPs "play dumb" because they know there is little info and no known treatment.
I have to urinate constantly and it disrupts my sleep

How do u feel now?
3:48 Phase 1: Rule out any deeper issues. Then it's all about accepting, reframing negative thoughts, learning the things you can do to relax your nervous system (which is the upstream cause, despite what symptoms may say)
12:20 Phase 2: You're here when symptoms flares reduce and aren't so dramatic. DON'T push to do more. Now is the time to stay the course of what you learned in Phase 1. Keep resting, staying at your healthy baseline,. Think of recovery on a month scale, not a day to day scale, which is too small of a time to see the healing that's happening
15:10 Phase 3: When you start forgetting that you are sick many days, symptoms happen rarely. Now is the time for things like graded exercise therapy, slowly and steadily.
General points for all phases:
- You can't force yourself to the next phase.
1 month.
Bless brother. This is the kind of thing I need to read on my flair up days. They're rarer and rarer but it gets to me you know?
Lots of people here saying they are on 3 months of long covid
Long COVID does not start until 6 mlnths plus. If you recovered in that time you just had post viral illness.
You better now?
Best video I’ve ever watched about long covid. So spot on 🙌. I am currently leaving phase 1 and entering phase 2 of my 2nd long haul and this video gave me the motivation to keep pushing through. Thank you!!
I’ve gone down the rabbit hole looking for answers for months now, but after listening to this video I now know that it just is and only time, rest , breath work meditation and good diet plus acceptance will get me through this illness
Thankyou Erik

Try plant protein powder.

So strange isn’t it? Recovery is possible.
@erikhodge2298 seems to be getting better the past month. Slow, slow process though.
There's no research been done into long COVID..so any info will help me.Bless youxx
I have severe digestion issues too unable to eat much any tips?
Thank you for your insight Melinda!

I went from Phase 1 to Phase 2 to Phase 3 to Phase 0.5, Phase 1 and now Phase 2.

Same. 3 cycles in 2 years. I pushed myself each time when in phase 3 and thought I could be clear of it.
Thank you!
Thank you Greg! I know I wished I had some kind of guidance when I first went through it so I’m glad it can be a help!

There's a lady that's saying protein powder helped her symptoms huge. I'm gonna try it
Im a paramedic that got COVID 3x.
This helped me a lot. It finally makes sense what's been happening.
This is the BEST video I have seen about this nightmare on UA-cam. There a lot of high brow medical stuff and a lot of scarey story videos which I don't like.

Thank you!!

@User98681 what's resvertrol ?
You need to treat inflammation.

This has helped. I have been in a dark place. Trying to cope. Not sure what to try. Thank uou for your video. Trying to learn how to get through this.
Make sure to watch some recovery stories. They are at times all I had to hold onto.

@@luisserrano-bey8395 Hello! So current day I consider myself recovered. I go about my normal day without any limiters.
It's been a year and still have breathing issues. It that part of it ?
Yes, don’t feel like you are beyond healing due to how long it’s been. This condition is appropriately named LONG Covid and it lasts far longer than we expect or believe we can handle. There is life after long covid.
Hoping you get better soon, I'm two years in, only relief for me has been OTC Claritin and saline nasal spray, I'm trying everything to no avail. I'm wondering if anything helps you at all? The breathless and exhausted feeling is depressing. Wishing you the best
How long did take you to heal

You spoke from may soul, Erik! Greetings from Germany, not knowing if phase 1 or 2 ... but enjoying painting water color while healing 😊
Mate.. fuckin superb . Concise. You’ve summed up what Ive spent 1000s of hours researching. Thanks from England
Glad this could be helpful!
Thank you so much for saying “it’s not in your head”…I struggle with that aspect so much and that hit hard hearing you saying that ❤
Hello .I've been in the long covid journey as past year now ..my symptoms have eased up like chest pains .fatigue, lack of interest and interaction with crowded areas .loud noise places...the thing is ..I devilped tinnitus and earworm when my symptoms all started..I keep hearing music all the time and even tv ads .UA-cam ads can trigger and stick in my head and loop for hours even weeks ..its has got a little bit better .I seen audiology and my hearing is really good .had ct scan on my brain ,it was clear too ..physically im getting stronger each month .but the neurological side of things is still haunting me ...im just curious as to know if you have heard of anyone else with these symptoms as I only ever heard one other person on covid healing say they had tinnitus due to it ..my doctors haven't a clue what to say to me ..they seem to know very little about long covid ... is it possible the virus has damaged the nerves in my ears causing this phantom musical sounds and tinnitus???

I have developed tinnitus and I keep posting songs in my head. Didn't think anyone else would have the latter. Not sure what to do about it other than immerse in watching TV or something.

That’s correct. The nervous system get thrown way out of wack and it causes a cascade of different effects throughout the body.
