  • DeLesslin "Roo" George-Warren (Catawba Nation Member-At-Large) speaks about his work with Catawba Nation to return Kus Katabare (Catawba Corn), revitalize plant knowledge in the community, and restore the ecological culture that has sustained his community for millennia. He also gives an in-depth history of the Catawba people and their efforts to maintain their ties to this land.
    Roo is an artist, activist, researcher, and educator living and working on the Manu Wui Ila (Green Earth Reservation) just outside Rock Hill, SC.
    Our mission is to promote the enjoyment and conservation of North Carolina’s native plants and their habitats through education, protection, cultivation, and advocacy.
