Good choice of sponsor John, knives and blacksmiths are a pair. Keeps the bill collectors from the door. Nice scrappy project, simple, cheap, bread and butter stuff for markets!
John, love the video production values and great to see you getting sponsored. . Definitely got the smooth voice and gravitas for promoting a knife manufacturer
Thanks John for all your videos,it looked like you improved your shop lighting...or it could have been an extra sunny day,I always learn something from every video, thanks again, and GOD bless. Duke ,from Cheyenne Wyoming.
Well I definitely like your version better.....so cool John. Love the new tool wall and the 2 bears are so cute but doesn't beat the bear in your Instagram apple tree this morning. Wow
The same for me, as Richard said, thank you for sharing and continuing the Sunday scrap box projects. These are one of the best series I can find worldwide.
Another jewel from the scrap pile! That project can let one drum up all kinds of ideas for a pull that is not all that common. My mind is already churning up ideas of places to put a pendant pull (for lack of a better term) like that. Please keep coming up with things from your visits to the Southwest that are Mexican or Hispanic inspired.
Hi John great video as always, I read Muzzleloader Magazine and saw your advert over the years , nice to put a face to it, keep them coming from Mike Sewell in Port Elizabeth South Africa
I am glad to see a sponsor for the video. I am happy to watch a “commercial” to help you make videos. Great video, one thing I would ask is to show a picture of the finished project at the beginning. I had a lot of trouble seeing what parts were as you were making them.
I’m sure you’ve illuminated at least one ad from this video. I personally would be more than happy to watch the ad or many many ads to help support your channel. I know you have a little extra support in this video with the sponsorship but that’s only because you deserve it. Just saying we really love your channel that’s why you have so many subscribers don’t sell yourself short I think we all appreciate you enough that we can stand an ad or two. Thank you for all you do
I do eliminate one mid roll ad for the sponsored videos. People complain about ads and sponsorships, so I try not to do to much in a single video. Although I do appreciate that most viewers such as yourself, are OK with both.
Black Bear Forge People complain about a lot of stuff.... I can’t imagine any of them willing to demonstrate their craft for the world to see in the video they produce. As long as you keep up the Videos coming that’s all I care about thanks again
Impressive. As I called this up on YT, to the right in the list of "might also like" was a video titled "New Mexican cabinet pull - countdown to Christmas" that you did a year ago. Will have to watch that next.
I admired a friend's slide hammer tool, some years later made one myself. The friend subsequently admired the 'improvements' I'd incorporated. I'd made every effort to make a faithful copy, but accidently made it better.
nice video, sir. The quality is excellent. I might try to make a pull similar to that...I`m tired of making hooks. That angle iron is cumbersome...I`ve been making hooks with it.
Hi Black Bear Smith, I did watch your tutorial this morning for ornamental Iron work, Real nice video. I might get a video made yet still working on it but my camera needs a new battery. thanks for all the info.
Video production quality is getting super high! Awesome idea I’m a soon to be if the Lord Jesus wills a Spanish teacher so this is extra interesting for me
Really nice piece, yet again. Shares a few characteristics with the Viking inspired hinges from a few episodes ago. Thank you for again sharing your skills and knowledge.
I have found little use for angle iron in my blacksmithing. I guess my imagination is not up to par. So this video helps me learn, you taught me something again John, Thank You.
I've used angle iron to make San Mai before. Just put your high carbon steel in the middle of it like a taco and forge weld it together. I guess if you don't make blades this doesn't really help lol.
@@berlinetta350 Ok, that is interesting, I have not made blades yet. Been hobby blacksmithing 5 years and will be making blades. I like your idea. Thanks.
@@berlinetta350 Thanks! That's a really good tip to use angle iron if you don't happen to have thin steel bar stock. I've got plenty more angle iron than 1/8" bar stock!
Could you pull the corners on the screw side out and thin out. Bend backwards and When screwing in the corners become nails that prevent the attached part from rotating. I like the concept, great film John thanks for the inspiration.
as a cheat, I have a hook for the back of a door. A single screw was all that I could get and have it not look odd (sounds familiar), to keep it from spinning, I used a little bit of the double stick foam tape that is used for hanging objects on walls. Then the screw holds the whole thing in place, the tape doesn't hold the weight, but is more than enough to keep it from rotating. Just thought I'd share.
Hey bud awesome pull. I need to upsize it for my shed door. Hay John any plans on making a slide bolt for the other shed door. Need hoping you would make something. I have some idea but it always come out better after I watch you make it first. Ok thx again....Paul🇺🇸🔥⚒
Awesome work John! I always learn a lot from your videos. Thanks again for your lessons, and the videos are looking super good! I have a doubt though, about that punch for one of the leaves of the flower, the one that went a bit over the edge. If the piece is for a big door, does it going over the edge makes that spot a little more fragile?
I really like that handle and it looks a lot nicer then the inspiration piece. Your choice for the video sponsor is a good one too, that knife is gorgeous. Is the pattern stamped onto the blade? 👍
So John, how do you determine how many times one should drop their work on the floor to straighten it out? 😉 Once again you taught me a technique I didn’t know. I have been dropping my work, well since I started, never knew I was actually making thing better.
Nice pull, enjoyed seeing your creativity.
Good choice of sponsor John, knives and blacksmiths are a pair. Keeps the bill collectors from the door. Nice scrappy project, simple, cheap, bread and butter stuff for markets!
Thanks 👍
Nice job and very useful, maybe suitable for a kitchen upgrade too. Thanks John.
Love the Sunday scrap bin videos .
and this one is one i will enjoy doing thanks John.
Glad you enjoyed it
Very nice looking pull John. I like the stamping especially.
Interesting Project, thanks, Les
Very nice work John. I like that style of pull.
Nice John. Gets the wheels turning.
I like this, i could see it on certain cabinets and drawers, perhaps in a cabin.
John, love the video production values and great to see you getting sponsored. . Definitely got the smooth voice and gravitas for promoting a knife manufacturer
John great work showing this amazing craft off with ur craftsmanship keep it up and definitely forge on my friend
Glad to see you at the anvil again.
Thank you so much for making these videos John! They really inspire me to keep going with bkacksmithing, even when I don't have much time
Great job John, that’s an interesting drawer pull you made. Alway enjoy watching your videos, thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
Love this! Get very excited when you do neat little hardwares. Very interesting
I really wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, but l like it now that it's done.
Thanks John for all your videos,it looked like you improved your shop lighting...or it could have been an extra sunny day,I always learn something from every video, thanks again, and GOD bless. Duke ,from Cheyenne Wyoming.
I think that turned out Great, John! Another fine inspirational idea! Thank You!
Cool design. We can also use it as bottle opener.☺️☺️👍👍👍👍
Just leave the holder open enough to get it off to open the bottle, but remember to put it back so you can open the door later.
Well I definitely like your version better.....so cool John. Love the new tool wall and the 2 bears are so cute but doesn't beat the bear in your Instagram apple tree this morning. Wow
I look forward to your videos. This is the perfect start to the week.
Glad to hear it!

Hello John
What a niche piece you made
Thanks for sharing
Yours Frank
Hi John great video as always, I read Muzzleloader Magazine and saw your advert over the years , nice to put a face to it, keep them coming from Mike Sewell in Port Elizabeth South Africa
Boy those ads were many years ago
Wonderful project!!! Thank you.
Glad you like it!
thanks john for this great video 😊

NIce, I'll try to do that sometime
Impressive. As I called this up on YT, to the right in the list of "might also like" was a video titled "New Mexican cabinet pull - countdown to Christmas" that you did a year ago. Will have to watch that next.
You could mix and match the pieces from both projects
I couldn't see it until it was close to being finished, very nice interpretation of the original. Thanks John, John from Oklahoma.
Cool Pull !
Nice piece. I think I would have hung the pull part the other way so that it would kinda cover the screw.
I admired a friend's slide hammer tool, some years later made one myself. The friend subsequently admired the 'improvements' I'd incorporated. I'd made every effort to make a faithful copy, but accidently made it better.

This is awesome! I want to give it a shot asap.
Love it, not too hard, my inlaws could use some of these

That is a great piece. Really like this one

hi very nice work
Hi john if you put a fold on the corners back in.it should hold when you tighten it up
I have found little use for angle iron in my blacksmithing. I guess my imagination is not up to par. So this video helps me learn, you taught me something again John, Thank You.

Cool little project mate. Looks a bit like a bottle opener.
I thought the same thing as I was making it.
Could you do different types of these each weekend very cool idea
I used your link and ordered the Bare Knife on Kickstarter.
I am sure they will appreciate it.

I like yours more than the other one.
"scrappy Sundays"! not my best of ideas, but hey though I'd throw it out there lol
Muy buen video
Reminds me of a ‘zipper pull’
Hi John
"Might be a matter of dropping it a few times" 😂
Hey bud awesome pull. I need to upsize it for my shed door. Hay John any plans on making a slide bolt for the other shed door. Need hoping you would make something. I have some idea but it always come out better after I watch you make it first. Ok thx again....Paul🇺🇸🔥⚒

I’m interested in what you were chopping up in the knife promo! Perhaps you could start another channel... Black Bear Kitchen!;)
I do have a second channel, but it doesn't involve cooking at this point.
5:20 Drop forging!😀
... I'll show myself out.
Could you raise a spur on the backside that bites into the wood so it wouldnt want to swivel on 1 screw
I really like that handle and it looks a lot nicer then the inspiration piece. Your choice for the video sponsor is a good one too, that knife is gorgeous. Is the pattern stamped onto the blade? 👍
Thanks, I think the pattern is drop forged in
how about a closeup of your toolrack in front of the window, please
So John, how do you determine how many times one should drop their work on the floor to straighten it out? 😉 Once again you taught me a technique I didn’t know. I have been dropping my work, well since I started, never knew I was actually making thing better.
I think its more of an art than a science.
Yours looks better to me
Hey John, what is the weight on that cross peen you typically use?
3 pounds
Should of used the coal forged to offset the emissions from Bear knifes. This is Merica!!! Love the video 👍
Those buckets outside must collect water. Mosquitoes??
to dry an to many holes
It looks too much like a bottle opener to me, I would keep trying to take it off its hook. But I really like the flower decoration.
Just leave the hanger open so you can use it as either one
I like yours better.
Lesson learn sir....
