Haven't ever seen this - and I'm the percussionist! Thanks for posting. Scott's new album is released in early December and once again he had me playing all sorts of extreme percussion, including machetes, Hawaiian log drums and a couple of chisels! Check out the trailer on youtube, the album's called Bish Bosch
What's incredible here is that he's not really experimenting, he's just looking for the sound he already has in mind, he's searching his imaginations in the real world with absolute precision. And honestly this is far more than I thought he was doing in albums like The Drift and Bish Bosch. The words "genius" and "visionary" certainly aren't wasted on him. Rest in peace, mighty Scott.
Scott Walker seems very polite and articulate in the studio. He knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to request his musicians to go further, but he’s also not afraid to dish out compliments, and checks in with them when possible . What a nice person he seems to have been.
We are sneaking into the studio, like a mouse would do and watching the process of Scott Walker working on his extraordinary music. Thanks so much for uploading this.
Considering how specific Scott wants different sounds, he seemed like a pretty relaxed guy to work with. Which is also interesting considering how unsettling this album is.
Hi Alasdiar, thanks for watching and commenting! The clip is hard to see - only available on the US version of the DVD as bonus footage. Can't wait for the new album and hearing more of your great and interesting work :-) I've just included your name in the video tags. Regards.

I noticed that as well. Scott came across as a very humble and genuine man. I wish I could have met him just to have a conversation about life.
This is perhaps the only film documentation of Scott Walker working in a studio. And an invaluable record of this irreplaceable artist it is.
I love 'The Drift'.

The percussions are very important on this album and they sound great. Well done, Alasdair and thank you for helping to create this album.
godlike genius indeed
