As a recovered “alcoholic” I can give some insight into habitual drunkenness. Your body seeks homeostasis, so at a certain point when any substance is present often enough it learns to adjust which is basically what acquired tolerance is. So kaido could be drunk and that is just meaning his normal state.
Law does have that Gamma Knife attack that almost killed Doflamingo, and while I don't think it could kill Kaido unless he manages hits a really vital area, it may be able to bypass a lot if not all Kaido's defence. As for Kid, luckily there is a convenient giant sword lying around for the guy with magnetic powers to use.

Recently rereading Marineford I've noticed some kind of hissing sound effect emitting from Shank's scar in chapter 580, the panel where he's asking Teach does he want to fight. This made me think of a possible long lasting effects of advanced Haki attacks, which might leave some kind of an imprint of the will of one who injured the body. So, Scabbards carrying Oden's might disturbed the old scar by their mere intention. Also, was Kaido in any vulnerable state of mind when Oden got him good?

Haki is Willpower, and using ryou is projecting your willpower (haki) into anothers person body, and assuming both are haki users, this means your willpower has won over the willpower of your enemy. So it leaving some after effects doesnt seem that impossible. Also oda and Toriko's author are (were?) Friends and thered a very similar concept there

Interesting thought about the scars, the one time we see luffy in pain from his chest scar in the manga (there's even a throb sound effect attached to it) was when Jimbei was explaining how akainu became the fleet admiral. Not saying that this will somehow make luffy's haki not work when/if he faces off against him, just that it's nice to see a clear pain coming from such deep scars such as kaido and luffy, the mere mention or vision of the one who dealt it, left a lasting effect that clearly made a difference for kaido specifically.
Back in Alabasta when Zoro fought Mr. 1 where he learned to cut everything but also cut nothing, in the latest episode of the anime Hyogoro explains to Luffy Tupi staring just that. Aren't Zoans having higher regen Powers like the Prison Guards in Imple Down. So we might get a FAKE out Knock Out on Kaido were he lays on the ground and while they are Fighting Big Mom or whoever is left. Then Kaido recovers and they have to fight him again.
I think kaidos downfall is going to have something to do with his eyesight. His eyes aren't good. And, they showed through his eyes what his vision was like before he destroyed the castle. The center diamond shaped eye slits are blurry. While the outside part is just fine. I dont think kaido is able to use future site. So, imo luffy is going to somehow be able to figure it out and play on his weakness. I imagine the darker it gets kaido will have a harder time seeing everything. That's what will let luffy smash him in the nose. And force him to fight in his human form. Just an opinion though.

I was watching 640 something where Luffy was fighting don Chinjao and noticed he said something interesting. After he saw Luffy had conquereors Haki, he asked what kind of king Luffy wanted to be. This made me wonder if people that have conquerors Haki have to want to be some kind of king. If so would this mean that Zoro could get conquerors? Zoro wants to be king in his own way as he wants to be the best swordsman thus king of swordsman. I’m only on 650 rn so this could have been addressed later in the series but if not it would make a good video
In a lot of martial arts there is the idea that the mental part of physical duress (the "power" of your body if you want) comes from a drive to fight. I think Armament Haki reflects on that. The body toughens up to the point of being unbreakable if you are the kind of person who spec'ed fully in defense (like Big Mom and Kaido), but your ambition to fight will be the determining aspect of sustaining it. But what happened when Kaido and Big Mom got vulnerable? Both of them were reminded of a moment of weakness, a moment where they were completely powerless. This might even go back to how Whitebeard was hurt so easily by Squalo and how right after that his defenses dropped to the point bullets and cannon balls and swords actually pierced him.
Your “Luffy x Zoro” combo scenario got me thinking about how The Straw Hat Crew gonna take on Shanks. I feel like Zoro might shine his brightest there. Especially if he finds out (or knows already) that Shanks and Mihawk is cool and be dueling frequently. As a swordsman Shanks HAS to be on Zoro’s Hit List.

Emotional weaknesses seem to be shown as pretty standard for Yonko. We have whitebeard being unwilling to harm BB and the mother caramel thing with Big Mom. Possibly this weakness for Kaido. This could also explain why Shanks was damaged by that sea king too. He was so worried about luffy that he couldn’t be at his full strength.
We know that Haki is a flowing energy that you direct with your will, so it makes perfect sense that if you're upset, your will isn't as focused and so your flow of haki is disrupted, weakening (or outright disabling) your various haki abilities until you regain control of yourself. Yonko have a much higher level of control over their haki than normal people, so when their flow is disrupted, it's much more obvious.
I can imagine the last scenario with Luffy and Zoro doing one last attack on Kaido with everything they have, "Did it work?" and Kaido responds like "Oh it worked, just not enough to finish me off" as hes bleeding profusely but still able to move unlike Luffy, Zoro, and pretty much everyone else at that point. Except probably Law and thats how they escape to fight again later.
It is interesting how the more you develop your haki, the more you have to have yourself under control. Shifting the focus from angry brute force to defeat an opponent to calm calculated movements.

The muscle memory of Kaido seeing the scabbards reminds me of street fighter when you are Sagat and you play against Ryu, the scar on Sagat chest glows and he kinds if touches it as he remembers the fight.
Something cool that could happen is that if all the Straw Hats&Co are defeated. All passed out on the ground about to get killed by Kaido. When suddenly. A wicked fast man comes and punches Kaido really hard. They battle it out but Kaido is eventually defeated by the man. Luffy looks up in disbelief as the man turns around. It’s Blackbeard. Well we’ve seen that when zoan users transform into their animal they get boosts to all physical stats and based off of the animal they transform into the stats could be more defensive or more offensive. So Kaido probably has immensely high defensive stats. His zoan being a mythical one could also make his transformation stats way higher.
Kaidos weakness is gonna be fear. The Oden flashback that allowed the scabbards to stab Kaido brought Back the fear he felt from Oden. The only time he felt genuine fear. That is why whenever he tries to die himself it does not work since there is no fear since he wanted to die.
Zorro already knew Ryou because Mihawk taught him how to put Haki hardening his swords. Luffy only ever hardened his own body till Hyou taught him how they use Ryou in their swords but because of Luffy adding it to his hands it was a little different.
Luffy and Zorro have scars of their own that are connected to rather traumatic events (Ace's death for Luffy and Zorro's defeat at the hand of Mihawk the person he wanted to defeat the most in the entire world because of his promise to kuina). Maybe something could come up with that.
This mostly fits in with a theory i have about Conqurors haki, I believe against high level opponents you can throw their focus off from their haki which is why it is so strong if honed to max level
many people here doesn't understand the ryou of luffy is different from ryou of sentomaru and boa sisters. luffy is much more special according to hyogoro since it penetrates from inside out whereas sentomaru etc. only deflects like a barrier. Hope tekking will clarify this.
Out of context. I think Yamato and Otama are related. Apart from they both are close with Ace, their names are almost the same (Yamato= otamaY). Maybe Otama is Yamato accidentally sent to the future and will be sent back at the end of the arc. If yes, she will be the the oldest character wanting to join SH, even before Luffy started travelling. Hence Yamato said she has been waiting for Luffy for a very long time.

I'm gonna say Kaido has some PTSD from Oden and also possibly Oden's ryou might still be affecting his scar or that was Kaido going outta wack cus of his PTSD. It seems like Kaido knew he was gonna lose to Odin and the only reason he survived was the witch distracting Odin by pretending to be Momo and he took that opening. It seems he's haunted by this mentally(the memories), socially(his daughter and the people of Wano), and physically(scar).
I think we are greatly downplaying the fact that at least 3 characters, Kaido, Shanks and Whitebeard have mentioned an ache coming from a past scar. It could be a long shot but I think that all those scars might have been produced by an Advanced Armament Haki, and here’s the full-theory part. That Haki could've been so much superior at the time of the fight, that the Armament Haki from the scarred one might have had recieved permament damage. If Armament is perceived or described as an "invisible armor", it could be that that armor has a regenerating nature but when damaged with enough force it just "breaks". And so back to the 3 characters that have expressed that "ache" coming from a past scar, Kaido, Shanks and Whitebeard. We know for a fact that Kaido was scarred by Oden, who had both Conquerors and Advanced Haki, Shanks was scarred by Blackbeard, and we really don't know a lot from him, his past before joining the Whitebeard Pirates or his real origins, and finally Whitebeard, and we really don't know who scarred him (I think), but most likely Roger, Garp or the "more interesting option" Rocks D. Xebec. There is really a lot of room here for Oda to blow our mind. And finally, I think we all know how Oda likes to play with us and the plot, and it's really like him to lay down an idea early on in the story and coming back to it in the future as with Conquerors and Haki in general. Haki is so weird to me by how it is portrayed at different points and the “strength” of it, I just prefer more structure to these kind of systems that I just don’t get from Oda with the strength of haki
for me, haki concept is a lot simpler than nen. Just start with the 3 basic concept and then improved it individually. So far, there hasn't been an overlap that I knew of.
People overstate the fall from sky island. First, ordinary humans have survived skydiving accidents irl surprisingly. But second, the same intro to Kaido also states Kaido has been defeated, captured, and tortured multiple times. What is stated is he has never been is killed. It is also stated that people say he would never lose 1v1. Clearly Kaido is not in a 1v1. Kaido taking damage shouldn't be in question, clearly he has. Question is will this be his end?
Hey I just wanted to bring something up about whitebeard. It doesn't make sense that Roger is pirate king, so whitebeard can't be the strongest pirate in the world. He is called the strongest Man in the world. I think he wasn't a pirate for a few years after rocks crew ended and before becoming a yonko.
About 1,5 years ago I made a post on reddit (I possibly was the first with the idea, I haven't seen this idea anywhere else before or after), that maybe Kaido can't use haki at all. Kaido is just that freaking strong in his base form. I still stand by that being a possibility.

Kaido def has PTSD from Oden. I think that the reason why he always tries to kill himself is because he feels like he should have died against Oden if it weren’t for Korozumi Higurashi. Like I think Kaido contradicts himself in a fascinating way. After fighting Oden he had gotten strong to the point where nobody can beat him but then again he wants to die. It’s weird but very intriguing nonetheless.
Luffy and Zoro combo attack failing miserably and then Raid Suit Sanji coming to save the day by teleporting them out at light speed, like a badass, going back to fight Kaido alone and stalling him for the time it takes for Luffy to recover.

If haki means "will power" then imagine kaidos remembering of oden and big moms remembering mother caramel as their "will" being broken and therefore their haki being weakened and leaving them vulnerable

Interesting thought about the scars, the one time we see luffy in pain from his chest scar in the manga (there's even a throb sound effect attached to it) was when Jimbei was explaining how akainu became the fleet admiral. Not saying that this will somehow make luffy's haki not work when/if he faces off against him, just that it's nice to see a clear pain coming from such deep scars such as kaido and luffy, the mere mention or vision of the one who dealt it, left a lasting effect that clearly made a difference for kaido specifically.
Back in Alabasta when Zoro fought Mr. 1 where he learned to cut everything but also cut nothing, in the latest episode of the anime Hyogoro explains to Luffy Tupi staring just that. The greatest swords men cut everything and nothing through the use of this technique. So it’s almost as though advanced armament was foreshadowed for Zoro. Also unlike Luffy staring which was a base understanding of every type of Haki I think Zoro mainly trained armament so at this point especially with Enma I think that Zoro might already have learned advanced armament Haki

I think kaidos downfall is going to have something to do with his eyesight. His eyes aren't good. And, they showed through his eyes what his vision was like before he destroyed the castle. The center diamond shaped eye slits are blurry. While the outside part is just fine. I dont think kaido is able to use future site. So, imo luffy is going to somehow be able to figure it out and play on his weakness. I imagine the darker it gets kaido will have a harder time seeing everything. That's what will let luffy smash him in the nose. And force him to fight in his human form. Just an opinion though.

I was watching 640 something where Luffy was fighting don Chinjao and noticed he said something interesting. After he saw Luffy had conquereors Haki, he asked what kind of king Luffy wanted to be. This made me wonder if people that have conquerors Haki have to want to be some kind of king. If so would this mean that Zoro could get conquerors? Zoro wants to be king in his own way as he wants to be the best swordsman thus king of swordsman. I’m only on 650 rn so this could have been addressed later in the series but if not it would make a good video

In a lot of martial arts there is the idea that the mental part of physical duress (the "power" of your body if you want) comes from a drive to fight. I think Armament Haki reflects on that. The body toughens up to the point of being unbreakable if you are the kind of person who spec'ed fully in defense (like Big Mom and Kaido), but your ambition to fight will be the determining aspect of sustaining it.
But what happened when Kaido and Big Mom got vulnerable? Both of them were reminded of a moment of weakness, a moment where they were completely powerless.
This might even go back to how Whitebeard was hurt so easily by Squalo and how right after that his defenses dropped to the point bullets and cannon balls and swords actually pierced him.

Your “Luffy x Zoro” combo scenario got me thinking about how The Straw Hat Crew gonna take on Shanks. I feel like Zoro might shine his brightest there. Emotional weaknesses seem to be shown as pretty standard for Yonko. We have whitebeard being unwilling to harm BB and the mother caramel thing with Big Mom. Possibly this weakness for Kaido. This could also explain why Shanks was damaged by that sea king too. He was so worried about luffy that he couldn’t be at his full strength.
We know that Haki is a flowing energy that you direct with your will, so it makes perfect sense that if you're upset, your will isn't as focused and so your flow of haki is disrupted, weakening (or outright disabling) your various haki abilities until you regain control of yourself.
Yonko have a much higher level of control over their haki than normal people, so when their flow is disrupted, it's much more obvious.

I can imagine the last scenario with Luffy and Zoro doing one last attack on Kaido with everything they have, "Did it work?" and Kaido responds like "Oh it worked, just not enough to finish me off" as hes bleeding profusely but still able to move unlike Luffy, Zoro, and pretty much everyone else at that point. Except probably Law and thats how they escape to fight again later.

The muscle memory of Kaido seeing the scabbards reminds me of street fighter when you are Sagat and you play against Ryu, the scar on Sagat chest glows and he kinds if touches it as he remembers the fight.
Something cool that could happen is that if all the Straw Hats&Co are defeated. All passed out on the ground about to get killed by Kaido. When suddenly. A wicked fast man comes and punches Kaido really hard. They battle it out but Kaido is eventually defeated by the man. Luffy looks up in disbelief as the man turns around. It’s Blackbeard. He laughs out at the wounded pirates and says “Behold the true power of the Yami Yami no mi”. Blackbeard turns around again and pulls a black sheet over Kaido and himself. Luffy tries to stop him But to no avail. Blackbeard absorbs the power of Kaidos Devil Fruit and dissapears. The people of Wano cheer at the defeat of Kaido. Just because I would want all 3 of the monster trio to be involved for the final hit on Kaido, I imagine the same situation Tekking mentioned with Law teleporting them over Kaido except Sanji is there as a booster where he does a big spin and kicks Luffy and zoro’s legs to rocket them down to him
The thing orochi was worried about was really meant for kiado. The 9 shadow figures have attacked. Kiado now realizes this is his time.
Well we’ve seen that when zoan users transform into their animal they get boosts to all physical stats and based off of the animal they transform into the stats could be more defensive or more offensive. So Kaido probably has immensely high defensive stats. His zoan being a mythical one could also make his transformation stats way higher.
Kaidos weakness is gonna be fear. The Oden flashback that allowed the scabbards to stab Kaido brought Back the fear he felt from Oden. The only time he felt genuine fear. That is why whenever he tries to die himself it does not work since there is no fear since he wanted to die.
Zorro already knew Ryou because Mihawk taught him how to put Haki hardening his swords. Luffy only ever hardened his own body till Hyou taught him how they use Ryou in their swords but because of Luffy adding it to his hands it was a little different.
Luffy and Zorro have scars of their own that are connected to rather traumatic events (Ace's death for Luffy and Zorro's defeat at the hand of Mihawk the person he wanted to defeat the most in the entire world because of his promise to kuina). Maybe something could come up with that.
This mostly fits in with a theory i have about Conqurors haki, I believe against high level opponents you can throw their focus off from their haki which is why it is so strong if honed to max level

Out of context. I think Yamato and Otama are related. Apart from they both are close with Ace, their names are almost the same (Yamato= otamaY). Maybe Otama is Yamato accidentally sent to the future and will be sent back at the end of the arc. If yes, she will be the the oldest character wanting to join SH, even before Luffy started travelling. Hence Yamato said she has been waiting for Luffy for a very long time.

The scabbards haki was so similar to Oden that it gave Kaido Oden flashbacks and he went into a mini panic attack, so imagine the Vietnam flashbacks Kaido will get when Luffy is hammering Kaido big daddy Roger style

I'm gonna say Kaido has some PTSD from Oden and also possibly Oden's ryou might still be affecting his scar or that was Kaido going outta wack cus of his PTSD. It seems like Kaido knew he was gonna lose to Odin and the only reason he survived was the witch distracting Odin by pretending to be Momo and he took that opening. It seems he's haunted by this mentally(the memories), socially(his daughter and the people of Wano), and physically(scar).
I think we are greatly downplaying the fact that at least 3 characters, Kaido, Shanks and Whitebeard have mentioned an ache coming from a past scar.
It could be a long shot but I think that all those scars might have been produced by an Advanced Armament Haki, and here’s the full-theory part. That Haki could've been so much superior at the time of the fight, that the Armament Haki from the scarred one might have had recieved permament damage. If Armament is perceived or described as an "invisible armor", it could be that that armor has a regenerating nature but when damaged with enough force it just "breaks".
And so back to the 3 characters that have expressed that "ache" coming from a past scar, Kaido, Shanks and Whitebeard. We know for a fact that Kaido was scarred by Oden, who had both Conquerors and Advanced Haki, Shanks was scarred by Blackbeard, and we really don't know a lot from him, his past before joining the Whitebeard Pirates or his real origins, and finally Whitebeard, and we really don't know who scarred him (I think), but most likely Roger, Garp or the "more interesting option" Rocks D. Xebec. There is really a lot of room here for Oda to blow our mind.
And finally, I think we all know how Oda likes to play with us and the plot, and it's really like him to lay down an idea early on in the story and coming back to it in the future as with Conquerors and Haki in general. Haki is so weird to me by how it is portrayed at different points and the “strength” of it, I just prefer more structure to these kind of systems that I just don’t get from Oda with the strength of haki
for me, haki concept is a lot simpler than nen. Just start with the 3 basic concept and then improved it individually. So far, there hasn't been an overlap that I knew of.
People overstate the fall from sky island. First, ordinary humans have survived skydiving accidents irl surprisingly. But second, the same intro to Kaido also states Kaido has been defeated, captured, and tortured multiple times. What is stated is he has never been is killed. It is also stated that people say he would never lose 1v1. Clearly Kaido is not in a 1v1. Kaido taking damage shouldn't be in question, clearly he has. Question is will this be his end?
Hey I just wanted to bring something up about whitebeard. It doesn't make sense that Roger is pirate king, so whitebeard can't be the strongest pirate in the world. He is called the strongest Man in the world. I think he wasn't a pirate for a few years after rocks crew ended and before becoming a yonko.

About 1,5 years ago I made a post on reddit (I possibly was the first with the idea, I haven't seen this idea anywhere else before or after), that maybe Kaido can't use haki at all. Kaido is just that freaking strong in his base form.
I still stand by that being a possibility.

Kaido def has PTSD from Oden. I think that the reason why he always tries to kill himself is because he feels like he should have died against Oden if it weren’t for Korozumi Higurashi. Like I think Kaido contradicts himself in a fascinating way. After fighting Oden he had gotten strong to the point where nobody can beat him but then again he wants to die. It’s weird but very intriguing nonetheless.
Luffy and Zoro combo attack failing miserably and then Raid Suit Sanji coming to save the day by teleporting them out at light speed, like a badass, going back to fight Kaido alone and stalling him for the time it takes for Luffy to recover.
