Doing this mod right now in my garage. Pretty easy. Awesome, very helpful video Chainsaw. Thx 4 mentioning the torque values - TIME SAVER. Axle nut is 3/4 on my 06 FXDB. If u don't have 12 point sockets u can use standard wrenches too for a lot of jobs. This is also a great time to change brake pads. Can't wait to test ride 🤘
Thanks for making the video. It looks really cool. I am planning to add this to my bike. The only suggestion would be to mention keeping the rotor clean and doing a quick wash of the rotor surface with denatured alcohol and replacing the pads at the same time. From decades of upgrading and servicing mountain bike brakes (same but smaller) the initial engagement of Pad and Rotor is critical for mating them to ensure longevity and performance. Adding new pads with the rotor would be my plan of action then spending some time doing controlled stops to bed them....again..coming from decades of downhill MTB experience....get them ready to stope before you need them. :-)
This gent is competent. Just shows how it should be done without bull or bluster. I have been working on cars, bikes (racing and road) and trucks since 1960 so I enjoy this sort of informative video clip.
I have a 19 fxbb Did everything as shown but when I installed the caliper very top of Rotor is hitting inside of Caliper. What did I do Wrong 🤷♂️ Any Suggestions 🤷♂️ Thanks Ride SAFE 👍🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I see hub mount and spoke mount parts listed in the catalogs. The spoke mounts don't show the black center piece. I have a 2007 fxdl with spokes. Which kit did you order? Thanks and great video!
Awesome vids brother, any plans for future videos on maintenance such as changing brake lines and brake bleeding. I know there are a ton of vids out there but ur method of delivery and quality is top notch
I’m looking at these the listing is for left or right what side would I need it’s a single rota dyna streetbob and I don’t know if it’s left or right from looking front on or looking from behind
Thank you for your advice, I bought it but what about the rear? Is there any size bigger than 11.5? I own a 2007 FLSTC. Keep those good videos going. ✊🏻
I’m assuming the left and right indication when ordering this kit is for which side of the wheel your rotor is on? Is it left from sitting on it or left from looking at it?
My front brakes are now dragging, I never touched the brake level until after the install to PUMP THEM. But the wheel now does not spins freely. Any suggestions anyone?
Could you do a vid on the upgrades you've made on your bike. I like your seat what brand is it? Did you upgrade turn signals or just change the yellow tops for clear ones?
Hi Uziel. I will definitely do a profile video on my Dyna. Give me a couple of weeks, I have some other videos in the cue. My seat is a LePera Bare Bones with Diamond Stitching. My signals are after market LED bullet replacements in the front, and Arlen Ness Direct mount in the rear. Thanks for the comment.
i am from sydney australia...i have 2004 fxdl..single disc LH side i purchased this kit from usa online arrived ..i aready had new rim with bearings & new tyre ready kit arrived..assembled disc to new wheel removed old wheel & removed caliper i assembled new brake pads assembled new offset bracket to fork tube tried to load caliper over 15" disc......NOT ENOUGH ROOM BETWEEN OUTER EDGE OF DISC & RIM TO FIT CALIPER AS SHOWN IN THIS VIDEO i had to remove the inner disc pad from caliper to give enough room then refit inner dis pad to caliper why....is the caliper thicker on early model dynas..??? i had same type of rim 19" ...not smooth rim but rim with stepped centre section at spokes only difference was my rim is chrome not black then i realised the other difference....i fitted a 110/90 tyre not std 100/90 tyre it looks much better as is beefier especially with bigger brake rotor & still fits between fender brackets so all good good product jeff uren
Hey Jeff... glad everything worked out in the end. This sounds like most installations I do. There is always something that makes it a pain in the ass!
Hey Stres... sorry I am out of town and won't be able to get back to you for a few days with the part number... I would just call Arlen Ness directly... they are pretty good about getting back to people and can probably help you sooner. Let me know how the install goes... and if you like the product. +Stres
DK Customs makes the chin.. www.dkcustomproducts.com/front-chin-spoiler-air-dam-fairing-for-harley-06-up-dyna-models-dk-cs-ad-d06.htmthanks for watching D W
A conversion can be done, as some models both with 39mm and 49mm come with dual disc. You have to swap out the right side lower slider and add a bigger master cylinder. All of these parts are available through Harley.
I know this is old, but it's still quality content. Much respect for taking the time to educate people like myself.
Thanks four years later...very helpful and well presented. Subscribed

4 years late but Congrats on making a nice and clean how to Vid.
Great video... my service manual says to replace screws that hold the disc to the hub if you remove them.
Awesome, I was contemplating an expense second disc, this has saved me a heap of cash, time and frustration.. Cheers!
Thank you! Just what I need to upgrade my softail slim, especially after having put a stage 2 on it
Great video Brother, thanks for doing this one. I just ordered my Ness big rotor today for my 2016 SB.
Thanks for another great how to video, well done and to the point. I have a 16 SB and this mod is on my list this winter. Safe Riding.
Great video....Exactly what I hate about my '17 Street Bob....ordering the bigger rotor today!
Great
I put it on my sportster 883 of 2007 model, and now i want to build it to the other side ad well😎
Great videos, thanks for making them available. We have the same bike, but dressed them up differently.
Great looking bike...
I wonder if the have a left AND right caliper relocation bracket for the dual brakes of the Fat Bob...
Great video man!! Thanks for putting this out there
I have a 19 fxbb
Did everything as shown but when I installed the caliper very top of Rotor is hitting inside of Caliper.
What did I do Wrong 🤷♂️
Any Suggestions 🤷♂️

Very helpful and nice know the torque settings . I take it the torque settings would be the same for a 2018 fatbob ?
Great stuff dude all the torques setings...superb..one question will this work with the ABS??
Don't you have to change your caliper as well?
no the bracket allows you to reuse stock caliper
@@RedEmpire36
Great results
I just put it on my sportster 883. I am thinking about to install the same at the other side🤔
Awesome vids brother, any plans for future videos on maintenance such as changing brake lines and brake bleeding. I know there are a ton of vids out there but ur method of delivery and quality is top notch
Thanks man! Appreciate the feedback. I think this is a great idea for a future video. I will get on this.
Does the new set up cause any issues with tire wear or being out of balance
Once again a dope video!!!
I’m looking at these the listing is for left or right what side would I need it’s a single rota dyna streetbob and I don’t know if it’s left or right from looking front on or looking from behind
Do you guys have a link to the part? Or part number? I'd like to purchase this and also give you guys credit for the sale, if possible.
Thank you for your advice, I bought it but what about the rear? Is there any size bigger than 11.5? I own a 2007 FLSTC.
Keep those good videos going. ✊🏻
love these vids bro big thanks
Thanks! Appreciate the feedback.
I’m assuming the left and right indication when ordering this kit is for which side of the wheel your rotor is on? Is it left from sitting on it or left from looking at it?
Left when sitting on the bike 🤘
How has that held up over time? Any warping issues? Thanks
great video well done
I have installed exactly the same rotor on my dyna fxdb 2017. I've noticed there are some noise when I'm applying the brakes. Is that normal ?
Can you do with the rear brakes? Sorry about my english.
I know I’m a little late in the comment section but you should never reuse your rotor bolts! if they’ve been torqued there stretched.
Great vid thanks man gatta get one
Great video and nice bike!
Thanks!
I wonder if there's one for a sportster....
Excellent. Thanks.
Can this work on a Softail Standard?
Awesome video, super good quality. Do the big rotors feel like they can stop better? I'm thinking of putting a couple on my duel disk FXR.
They definitely give you better control. They just feel better. I bet a dual setup with these would be awesome. let me know how it turns out.
My Dyna fatbob has 16 inch
can install Arlenness big rotor
Great vid
My front brakes are now dragging, I never touched the brake level until after the install to PUMP THEM. But the wheel now does not spins freely. Any suggestions anyone?
I have the same bike, is that the hub mounted rotor or the spoke mounted rotor?
Could you do a vid on the upgrades you've made on your bike. I like your seat what brand is it? Did you upgrade turn signals or just change the yellow tops for clear ones?

Good one, thanks Chainsaw
Love your videos, no bull shit lets get down to business.... lets get the shit done Lol! Thats the way to do it!
i am from sydney australia...i have 2004 fxdl..single disc LH side
i purchased this kit from usa online
arrived ..i aready had new rim with bearings & new tyre ready
kit arrived..assembled disc to new wheel
removed old wheel & removed caliper
i assembled new brake pads
assembled new offset bracket to fork tube
tried to load caliper over 15" disc......NOT ENOUGH ROOM BETWEEN OUTER EDGE OF DISC & RIM TO FIT CALIPER AS SHOWN IN THIS VIDEO
i had to remove the inner disc pad from caliper to give enough room then refit inner dis pad to caliper
why....is the caliper thicker on early model dynas..???
i had same type of rim 19" ...not smooth rim but rim with stepped centre section at spokes only difference was my rim is chrome not black
then i realised the other difference....i fitted a 110/90 tyre not std 100/90 tyre
it looks much better as is beefier especially with bigger brake rotor & still fits between fender brackets
so all good good product

I have maybe 10 subs not a newbe but theres 2many assholes out there i sub you that means something thanks again brother
This is hub mounted correct? what was the actual part number that you ordered? all i can find do not have the black PC on the spokes...
Hey Stres... sorry I am out of town and won't be able to get back to you for a few days with the part number... I would just call Arlen Ness directly... they are pretty good about getting back to people and can probably help you sooner. Let me know how the install goes... and if you like the product.

By the way, This is hub mounted...

thanks, i appreciate the response
What would you think about ness’ 6 piston differential bore front caliper in combination with the big rotor? I’m looking into it.
sounds awesome... let me know if they are compatible.
I called today. They say that they are compatible!
Nice!
Who makes that lower chin fairing.
DK Customs makes the chin.. www.dkcustomproducts.com/front-chin-spoiler-air-dam-fairing-for-harley-06-up-dyna-models-dk-cs-ad-d06.htmthanks for watching D W
Hello, I notice you have a fork brace on the bike. Who makes that fork brace and are you happy with it.
That is the Harley screamin' Eagle fork brace. I do like it... it stiffens up the front end quite a bit.
Thanks, I was considering the HD fork brace or the SuperBrace, any suggestions if one is better than the other
Honestly... whatever you think looks better will work. It adds rigidity to the front end no matter which one you mount.
Thanks for your input and keep up the GREAT videos, Have a Good Day
Thanks for the support!
It is recommended to use new rotor bolts they’re cheap
Does harley offer a duel disc on their single disc fronts?
A conversion can be done, as some models both with 39mm and 49mm come with dual disc. You have to swap out the right side lower slider and add a bigger master cylinder. All of these parts are available through Harley.
will this brake kit fit the 2018 Softail Street Bob(FXBB)???
I didn't see any rotors that fit the 18+ softails on the Arlen Ness site.
Drag.
Please tell me you were using a torque wrench to take off the axle nut 🤦🏻♂️
Damn... good eye. Note to self... don't loan out your tools to friends!
Buy a new axle nut.
