I was a formula 1 fan until a good friend of mine dragged me kicking and screaming to this place a good few years ago, he said 'I guarantee by the end of this weekend you will have ended one love affair and started another' He was so right, I have never looked back, Le Mans will send shivers down your spine, this place has an incredible atmosphere believe me, maybe something to do with what happened in the past? So many different sounding engines, so many different viewing opportunities through day, dusk, night and dawn, incredible! Thank you tommy9927 for bringing my amazing memories back to life.
@MathiasBrix It is a legal spot, we did not climb any fences or passed through private property. If you look closely you see two security guards on the other side of the road and they did not do anything like calling other guards via radio or such. The guy jumping behind the armco did not belong to my group, he was already there when we arrived.
Yeah, but if the gendarmes had found you there, I can guarantee they'd have moved you on. I've been to plenty of supposedly 'legal' spots on the Mulsanne in my 35 visits... ;-)
@agtfjhdk They most likely changed the firing order - amazing how much the sound changes by doing it. The Vantage sounded awesome with that little stab on the throttle between the two parts of Ford chicane sitting under the roof and covered backside of the grandstand there
Google maps is not up to date, so it's hard to tell. It's just opposite of the new Audi dealership a few hundret meters before the Auberge des Hundaudières. But they had catch fencing with green blankets on almost any spot of the Hundauières last year, so you're better off doing a lap around the circuit on tuesday to save you a good 90min of walking from and back to MMA Arena
AMAZING 😍 Do you think that possible to go again at this place this year ? And how we can go at this place ? Walk behind MMA arena ? Sorry for my english, i'm french :p
Can you post a link to Google Maps, where it was exactly? I don't think that this was a legal place, but I don't care :-) Want to go there this year too... pleasesss!! Thanks.
@GTnumberI Peugeot's poor strategy cost them the 2008 race. Had it not rained, they would have easily beat Audi. As for 2000-2006, they didn't have any serious competition from a major manufacturer (the Cadillacs don't count, as GM's focus was on the Vettes). However, Pescarolo almost had them beat the year the LMP1 rules were introduced. Big budgets and favorable engine rules have made it relatively easy for them.

The Hunaudières have been cutted in 3 parts with 2 baffles, that sucks ! In France we are governed by stupid crashtest dummies…
