It’s fascinating how the drums tell us so much about how a company can change over time.
The Ludwig 14” x 5” Acrolite is an excellent example.
Since the 1960s, we have seen the Ludwig Acrolite develop in look and sound.
From what we have seen and heard, the 1960s version of the Acrolite is the brightest, the 1970s is the most versatile, the 1980s and 1990s seemed to mellow tonally out, and the 2000s had a more modern sound. (Do you agree with this assessment?)
These differences had a lot to do with the change in ownership that intrinsically changed how they manufactured these drums.
This factor can explain why some Acrolites are sought after more than others because they were designed and manufactured differently than other eras.
That’s why, when it comes to vintage drums, you have to understand what you have, so when you play, you are just amplifying what is already there to help serve the music!
Anyways, have a great rest of the week. Love you, guys!! Okay. Byeeeee. 🥁🤓👊🏻❤️🙏🏻

I have no idea about eras of acrolite, but your chops in this short remind me of Kevin Figueroa(?) aka K. Fig currently of Extreme fame, but when he was drumming with Nuno on the dramagods CD. And that's a high compliment.
