After hearing you and Glen K playing through these beasts, i was just blown away. A plexi guy at heart, but these have something more. Much more..if a tornado made of fire was an amp... I reached out to the new guy building trainwrecks and got no reply. Since then, I've built two exprsss amps. Words can not describe what these things are like . I've built all my drem amps in the last year or so. The honeymoon phase will never end with these things. Im planning a rocket sometime soon and a micro express 1 to 5 watt maybe. Thanks for introducing me to these things. Sad to think Ken didnt make a fortune . RIP
Best Wreck demo, I have EVER heard, dude! I call shanaagans, that video was shot at the fisher house on kens wrecks! (JOKING) Seriously though, they around THAT good, brother! YOu did a GREAT job capturing all the dynamics that we mortals usually, on read about. thank you so much for posting. I got 22 watter coming from JM now and this demo really makes me feel even better about it!
are you serious??? Glen Kuykendalls demo of his wreck and 59 destroys this!! Theres no dynamics in that up there dude. you can hardly even tell the pickups apart for a start.
Are you familiar with the rare black Celestion Alnicos? Got a chance to get some and I can't find any info on these, other than the fact that they are more uncommon and made for companies like Selmer and Marshall before they became bigger names.
Ken's favorite were NOT 25s. His all time favorite was the G12H30 with the 102/014 55hz cone. From the man himself. Ken actually said the 25s were worth a listen but to pass them up and go straight for the 30 with the larger magnet and better note separation and fewer mids than the 003 cone g12h30 which he called overkill and harsh.
Sounds cool, man. I really want to hear Francine. She sounds very unique, being cathode biased and tube rectified. What's the bias resistor you're using in there?
Granted, I actually thought you were talking about the G12H25s and not the M. In that case you're right. Ken did love those, but so did pretty much everyone and after hearing Glen's vids, that would be an open and shut case with anyone. Are your G12s the poly grey, vox blue or natural? I've been meaning to snag a couple from Ebay, but can't seem to find any earlier than 69 or so and I'm afraid those may be some of the harsher grey ones.
Wow. I wasn't expecting that, though I did think that cab looked a little on the small side for a couple 12s. That explains that focused, extra light and airy drive. Did you sell that guitar?
these are the newer ones from the family. They are killer. I have a whole series on them called Geartorial on my channel. Check it all out! thanks for watching by the way
Knowing how much gain these amps have at times you must be barely hitting the strings. I've seen you in a few videos, so I've come to the conclusion you travel around America playing people's gear for them. Nice work if you can get it.
you would have to ask him but i seriously doubt it. Trainwrecks are built to drive the power tubes into that kind of saturation. If you like that stuff you can also look into DR. Z's amps. I use one with an attenuator and it clips like that.
thats up to you, the quest for perfect tone is never ending and sometimes pointless. its different for everyone. if you can afford one of these great, but you can get there for less, but still not cheap imo.
how much is the fischer family paying you to demo their new amps. Btw how old are u, i don t think your old enough to speak to ken unless u where a amp guru in your early twenties

These are some of the nicest tones I’ve ever heard. The rolled back tones are crystalline
Thank you! An old video for me. I think my newer ones are even better.
Sounds great Matt. Wonderful tones and playing.
These, along with Premier Guitar are the best videos on Trainwrecks on UA-cam. Thanks for posting
Great Tone! Trainwrecks are the best! I'm liking Ken's Cab a lot. Thanks putting the video together. Helps me make up my mind on amps and speakers.

Perfect way to start my day! Thanks for the videos. If I could plug my guitars into my heart, the tone generated would be that of Trainwreck Express.
u sure it wouldn't be squishy sounds?
Yes, the opening music is the Express in the video, Same studio, mics and cabinets. Its just a full mixed audio with mastering. Thanks!
Really SWEET top on the LP!!!!
Wow Matt, beautiful!!! I just love hearing you play!! You're inspiring to do more more videos and better playing!!!
You're awesome.

super sweet! Thanks for taking the time to do this right. major GAS
You can definitely hear why the Ampeg V4 Cab was Ken Fischer's favourite. The Marshall Basketweave is good but that V4 Cab is a match for the Express.
I'm not seeing your post; only 7 show up. Can you assist me in finding it? Thank you!
Ampeg cab is killing
Interesting. Definitely holy grail product. What speakers were you running in that 2001 LP R8 demo with the Pool? Sounds real good.

Hey, tell me about your cathode biased Express with EL37s and the fact that I can't listen to it... Sounds like a one of a kind!

Are these original 80's/90's Trainwrecks or newer ones from the family? I know Komet has been making Trainwreck-like amps from Ken's original designs.

What pedals are you using to drive the dirty sound?
you turn the volume up on the guitar. thats what trainwrecks sound like
So it's just the guitar and the amp? No over drives or dirt pedals?

I would need to get an attenuator.
