A Trainwreck Express is basically the vibrato channel of a Blackface/Silverface Fender with no reverb or trem, so like the bare bones of the Fender circuit. But it's designed for more gain with a few tweaks in the circuit and an EQ response to fit the extra gain. A Liverpool is has the same preamp (with the exception of very few different component values), but the power amp is designed for 4 EL84s. Both models are in the realm of being 90% identical. The Rocket is more of an AC30 "that died and went to heaven" from what Ken has said, but I've never looked at a schematic for one. Expresses and Liverpools have solid state rectifiers, but the Rocket has a tube rectifier.
I can't think of anyone that deserves this Amp more by the laws of nature and all things right, than JD Simo himself.. :-)
Man JD is the real deal... hope he makes it over to Europe one day for a few shows
I know that JD is a vintage Marshall guy...but man, that Trainwreck is perfect for him.
Even through laptop speakers that tone sounds amazing
Thats the type of tone thats wraps around your soul...
This is the best Trainwreck tone I've heard from any of the videos on UA-cam! But which one is it? Xpress Liverpool rocket
Magical gear and sound! And this touch.. so powerful👏👏👍🤙🤙🤙
Carter’s vintage is awesome!
Simo, what a talent! Amazing.
I’m almost finished building a Trainwreck Express. I hope it sounds this good. It’s getting NOS glass from V1-V5.
I'm 98 percent done with building one too
Nice amp dude ❤
Is/was this an original (ken fisher) or RI TW? The player knows how to ''bring it out' what ever it is.
Very soulful playing, brother!
Nice Playing and Great Tone.
That sustain tho....!
Great tone.
Great tone and playin'
That note at 4:50. Very nice
Great demo, great playing!

you couldn’t find an ampeg v4 cab?
Looks like that amp was sold
Can you say TONE! Killer!
Is this one of Ken Fischer's original Trainwrecks or is it one of the newer ones that someone is making with the blessing of the family?
+Jenna Mishoe This was an original one! Thanks!
+Carter Vintage Guitars is it an express?
looks like charles daughtrys express? i think? with the little indian logo on the front?
Notice he hasn't turned in his Plexi's yet.
Which model is this?
no way those are v30s in that cab... are they???
I would love to know as well....my orange 2x12 has V30s and I just can't see them putting out that tone. But who knows?
To me it sounds just as the V30s in a closed back cab.
Good lord
There's really nothing u can say...just take it in
the Trainwreck is a Marshall type amp, a kind of a JTM 45 I think, and sounds great as hell :p
Not really
Try a VOX Night Train on a "thick" channel. This is a "poor man Trainwreck amp", and it works well.
