Definitely my favorite Business laptop. Been using it for 5 years now and it still is my go to Business machine. One of the best choices I made for my career was getting this computer. To this day it's the one I reach for, even over my M1 Macbook Air and my M2 Macbook Pro as well as M1 Ipad Pro.

I plan on upgrading to a much newer and better laptop,but for the time being I was thinking of buying this at a reasonable price for second hand. just got one of these from amazon for 300can dollars. I got it with i5 6300u, 8gb ram, 256 ssd, and the qhd touch screen. kinda worried that they arnt going to send me the nice one with the qhd toucn screen, but ill find out in a couple days. Its for my gf, her current laptop is basically unusable, being a hp steam with 4gb ram, a dual core Amd bulldozer based cpu, and 32gb of slow storage.

The one I have found on sale is an 8GB RAM, even though it is a 512GB SSD. I still wish it came with 16gb RAM. Also, could you confirm if it is possible to fix a sata SSD on this device (not via USB port). Thanks.

Carbon fiber is the design, not necessarily the material. Kinda how you have a space gray iPhone, when that thing isn't really from space. Or a retina display that isn't actually as sharp as a human's eye level. Haha! :)

Nope! My system works great! You may be receiving that as a result of incompatible RAM. Make sure the type you’re using is compatible with your model. Consult manuals or technical specifications to verify. :)

And about general FPS for 16GB(8+8) Ram version of this laptop: GTA V @25-30FPS, low/normal with shadows, GTA 4 @30FPS, Medium/High & Low shadows. Assassin's Creed games will run at about Normal/Medium, until Black Flag where it runs at low but Rogue was super smooth at Medium (Assassin's Creed games after Rogue isn't playable at HD). But games from 2014, might really struggle to hit even 20, if u want to play it at min HD
To get a refurbished Touchscreen 500GB SSD With the optional 16GB Ram, it would be 599, If you were to get all of the specs apart form touchscreen it would be 441$. (Canadian Dollars)
I bought this laptop and upgraded with 16gb 3200mhz ram and 2 terabyte next gen ssd for software development. It works blazingly fast.

It supports up to 32GB DDR3L SDRAM. Presumably, it should work for android development.

Quite honestly, the only image manipulation program I’ve used on this system is GIMP. Happy to tell it worked flawlessly!

Yes you can! I'm not aware of the maximum capacity, however I've seen many of these with 1TB NVME or SATA SSDs. Hope this helps!

Maybe try reseating the backlight cables? You may also just need a replacement keyboard. I doubt it’s anything caused by the main board. :)

Yes! An M.2 SATA SSD will work on this model. Along with M.2 NVMe.
