Interesting, however some of the assertions made about leveraging multiple degrees to get a raise at work is mostly conjecture in most industries. Post grad degrees simply doesn’t matter anymore because everybody seems to have them. Maybe some professional certifications would help but these are isolated cases. I am speaking factually
Reminds me of some folks that travelled abroad immediately after university to get masters and come back to big jobs. Omo the tide changed on them. It suddenly became more about work experience and less about degrees. To see them hustling for peanut paying jobs after spending so much on abroad masters was painful sha.
Actually, factually speaking the assertions he made still matter when you look at the private returns to education in the context (sub-Saharan African) and sector (private) he's speaking on. The 'everybody seems to have them' narrative for postgrad is seen in high-income countries. Beyond the abundant supply, the costs they incur are way higher than in Nigeria amongst plenty other etc etc serenren to consider. Now... anecdotally speaking, you have made points that are definitely worth considering especially looking at the demand side and unemployment figures. But they don't take away from the fact which is backed up by data (however limited) that for the context he's talking about, you get more returns/money with more years of schooling, even in tertiary too where scarcity of postgrad is still a thing.

Me watching this now feeling so insecure and angry at myself I am 18 and still struggling to get into university at 18!! . Why do I feel like I don't have much time left the nigeria school system is so frustrating. Lucky are those who can afford a private University. I don't even know what I want to do with my life. I am not good at anything I have a whole 6 months at home doing nothing and I don't even know what am good at or something I can start doing
Guy it's not that deep. Try gather some money and learn a skill. If you like tech look for something in tech and start with that. Master your skill, connect with people and from there, apply for jobs. By the time you are 21 sef, you might be able to sponsor yourself abroad to school or get an online BSc. Things are a lot easier in our time, just Google it😉
Hi Kingsley I was done with ssce at 14,took a while before I got into school at 20 but while I was waiting I was working,gaining experience and broadening knowledge in every aspect I just collected my MSc cert last week at 24 and I have never been more happy with my self I am doing quit well for myself because of the experience I gathered over the years in business university didn’t give me that experience Get something doing while you wait to enter the uni You’re not behind my love I promise you🤗
