- I'm so excited to share the adventure of teaching my daughter, Brinkley, to fly! This is the first video of a new series following Brinkley's exciting journey of learning to fly. I hope you enjoy watching and learning along with her.
"I'm gonna take a nap." Lol
Enjoyed the video. Wanting to learn to fly as well.
Epic father daughter moment Seth, congratulations. Great job on your first lesson Brinkley. Keep up the excellent work. Safe skies 🇺🇸🛩️
Thank you! Brink is amazing!
@@SethLakeDPE she couldn't have a better teacher. 🇺🇸🛩️
She nailed the brain disconnect button, but more importantly nailed having Dad as CFI and didn’t stress. Hope she sticks with it!
She's doing great!
Niiicce, Brinkley go get em
👍
My brain gets disconnected every time I push that button 😂
Haha, me too!
I passed my IR may 15th, you IR series was great…. Going through the commercial series right now. These videos are great because I’ll be getting my CFI next and these videos are great because I’m learning a lot about how to teach a new student!!
That's great!
You are a very great teacher in the whole video from 22 min to 23min is perfect wish you could teach me so awesome you guys are just flying around learning what is all going on with the airplane. I had a very bad instructor who was just more worried about his outside life then just flying around for fun or learning. wish I could find someone like you!
Thank you so much for the kind words. If you ever find yourself in Arkansas look me up and I'd be happy to do some instruction with you.
Yay Brinkley! 👍
👍
Hi Seth, great video! I just started my CFI training so this was very informative. I’m a dad as well so this makes it even more fun to watch. Looks like you and your daughter make a great team. Used your videos for the commercial check ride and passed fist try. Thank you for your great content it has helped me a lot!
Great to hear!
My daughter and I are both training at KASG. It’s super fun to see you going through that process with yours. Keep up the good work! Love your content.
That's awesome to hear! Thanks for the feedback!
Excellent video as usual Seth! Congratulations Brinkley!✈️
Thanks!
Just starting training with my 16 year old as well! We’ll keep watching and learning. Thank you both for sharing.
That's awesome!
Love this, looking forward to the series....
Great!
Seth,
I really appreciate your videos/podcasts. This was a great video to watch. I had my first flying lesson at the age of 14 with my father as my instructor. Unfortunately, I didn’t stick with it at that time. I did finally get my Private, about 30 years later, with my father teaching the whole time!! We were just starting on IFR when I lost him. Now, 22 years later, I am back to flying and picking up where I left off.
I completely agree with protecting Brinkley on such a public stage. Thanks for sharing what you do and trying to help all of us viewers!!
Thank you so much for sharing! I'm sure the time you spent with you father is very special. I know I absolutely love the time with Brink in the plane.
Awesome job...start'em young
You bet!
This is awesome Seth, she will be a great pilot. She seemed really calm and good sense of direction. She cracked me up when you asked her if she could find the airport “ uh, ya” 😂 The best thing about this is the memories you are creating with her. I get the limited sharing of her training but would be great to get an update on her development. Hoping my grandkids will be interested in flying but like you I will not push it. They will have to come to me if it’s something they want to do.
Out of all the things I've done in aviation, I'm most excited about this!
Good video. Great to see something like. Look forward to seeing her progress.
Thanks!
love this video, as I am getting ready to start once i get the medical approval this kind of video is extremely helpful.
Great!
Hey Seth, how do you like the ProFlight 2.0 headset? Compared to the A20? I would appreciate any feedback, as I am considering a headset upgrade. Thanks!
I only use the ProFlight in piston aircraft when I can't use my A20s. I would recommend the A20/30 if you fly pistons. If you fly jets, the ProFlight is a good option. Just my opinion.
Which model Cessna is that? A 182? Great video, by the way.
172, thanks!
@@SethLakeDPE Thanks. The reason I asked was I do not remember ever flying a 172 with a constant speed prop. I knew Cutlass had one, but had no clue the fixed gear version had versions like this as well.
@@podtri419 there aren't many, but the Avcon STC added a 180hp engine and a hartzel constant speed propelled.
@@SethLakeDPE Got it! I thought I was going nuts for a second there because the size looked off for a182, but you kept mentioning MP and prop settings.
Very curious how it went or did Brinkley quit?
Thanks for checking in! She hasn't quit but I have had second thoughts about sharing so much of her training. I'm still on the fence about weather or not to share her whole experience on such a public forum. Expect updates though!
@@SethLakeDPE thanks for reply! Best of luck to Brinkley, agree on not over sharing of personal life! Ps very much appreciate your content- starting my instrument rating now, and learning a lot on your channel
@@dimakukushkin thank you so much! Best of luck!
Nice.. thanks for sharing
@@SethLakeDPE the line between helping strangers while protecting yourself and your kid
good seeing this side of you most of your videos you are more serious...as someone working on CFI and tomorrow schedule to pretend like my 2yr+/200hr+ CFI is my discovery student this was good timing...knowing how much to say and when to jump in is the stage I am at now
Thanks for the feedback! I look forward to doing more of these videos. Best of luck with your training!
Is it too late to have you adopt me, so you can be my CFI?? I’m 46, btw….
😆
Does Brinkley ski? This may be why her rudder gets mixed up - muscle memory, etc. Great first flight and instruction - well done the both of you!
Thank you! She doesn't ski, but she does snow board!
