- After many requests, here's the sequel to my popular Ancient Gear Golem montage! All memes belong to their original owners, and the song is Energy Flux from the Moonlighter OST. With that out of the way, here's the current decklist!

The extra deck could probably be changed to have more utility, but I never really make it that far. I either win or lose quickly.
This proves that meta decks aren’t everything, and that you can just make a deck of an archetype based on what you like! Very good video
Thanks! And yes, meta decks aren't everything. I get bored of meta very quickly. I have too much ADHD to focus on being meta all the time. I always try to just have fun!

This is anything but true, and this video is a horribly bad example of this.
@Papyrus, while you may be right about some decks, other decks like odd eyes and roids can still be fun. In fact, the other day I was playing odd eyes against a tearlement deck and one by otk-ing them. So not only does your point stand, but it also falters in it’s same aspect.
Ancient Gears is such a fun deck. Out of the many archetypes out there I feel like it's just a solid deck. I mean obviously power creep exists and all that crap, but I just think Ancient Gears are cool as hell.
Ancient Gears seem to be one of the few that stay on theme when it comes to power creep. Clunky and Bricky as heck but once they get going lookout.
That's why I have an AG deck irl. I built it myself and it's among my favorites, and the most vicious deck I have. Once it gets going, there ain't much that can stop it.
Agreed! It isn't the best deck, but it's the deck I turn to if I just want to relax and have some fun.
Ancient gears was my first deck i played with, mostly because of the anime, and to see it thrive and get the support it needs from newer sets makes me very happy

The FIRST thing you should do would be activating fortress. If the opponent negates and destroy it it's a free summon. If they don't? No negate + no destruction. Fortress comes before anything else
Very true. Though I usually try to have something go before it as bait.
Not necesarily. If the opponent fields a negate heavy deck you want fortress to go through, so sometimes you need to bait out the negates to get it off to secure the rest of your plays.
Then again, next turn hes gonna destroy it most likely anyway, so if you get a free summon from it it might be more valuable to sacc it that way.
I play 2 decks in Master Duel that play similar to Ancient Gears and there are many moments when I wished they have uninterrupted battles and piercing damage.
As a cyber dragon user, machine supremacy!. I tried mixing them in my own builts but it's true,if you don't open a hand to survive if bricked, you'll be in for a rough ride, but you feel god if you have power bond in hand+limiter removal and a way to bait negations
The deck tends to work really well for me, but that's because I put a lot of searchers for what I am usually missing. Machines are always fun!
This brought a big smile tk my face, i been a Ancient Gear user since they first releases in the lost millennium set. Been my go to deck for a long time! I am akways looking for ways to improve it more.
It was one of my first decks, and I still haven't gotten bored of it. It's just so fun!

Seems to be a recurring thing. Something like this happened in my previous Ancient Gear montage, and I thought it was hilarious!

This is a great deck! If you didn't net deck this build, you have every reason to be proud of it. It makes me wanna learn ancient gears! haha, looks amazing!!
I originally tried to net deck as it allows me to find which cards are good with the deck. I then found out that most net decks are poorly thought about. Ancient Gear Golems need to win FAST, and having a fallback plan only makes you stall out your loss longer. So this is my original deck now! No extra fluff, just ending the game quickly! Thanks for your appreciation!
@@surgeteamgamingchannel3939 I think every great deck starts as a "net deck" and as your skill improves, and your understanding of the mechanics increases, it becomes your deck as you tweak it to do what you want it to do.

The first match is a great reason for why generic Extra Deck monsters like Baronne and Accesscode Talker need to be errata'd to require their types or archetypes only to summon. Look at these "meta" decks' lazy over-reliance on them and having literally nothing else once they're outed. Great Gearbro compilations, never let Dr. Crowler down!

Nice to see this. I love Ancient Gear and Blue Eyes. Hardcore casual fan that stopped playing since 2005 but check out the game every 5 years or so.
As many have said before, there's a difference between PLAYING Power Bond, and USING Power Bond. Good Shit.

@@firestargaming9521 cmon, even Bujin deck can go into Baronne using 2 cards. Either sommon Justicia with unexpected dai then summon Torifune for 2 lvl 4 monsters, or summon Torifune with Red Resonator for the same effect. I was more surprised when Psy Frame player made Baronne out of Psy Frame monster he summoned on my turn, and a Hop Ear Squadron if i remember correctly.

This is the first time I’ve seen someone else use Ancient Gear besides myself and god I need to add some cards to my deck
My best advice on Ancient Gear is that you shouldn't bother with a slow backup plan. You need to prioritize winning quickly. Backup plans generally just give your opponent more time while you're struggling to regain lost ground. In other words, you just lose very slowly without a chance of regaining lost ground.
No absolutely, I’ve realized that I play pretty slow with the deck because I’m super cautious, but I need to put in things like power bond or limiter removal, I’ve never had those cards in this deck and now I see that they could make my deck so much better

Sadly not consecutive. I admit that Ancient Gears have their flaws. I did get most of these games within just a few days though. I had more wins, but not all of them are montage-worthy.

I think my favourite one was the magician deck, which does all these summon shenanigans and spamming monsters to the field and then you go 'Naw I think I'll summon one giant ass robot and punch your face off, have fun with that'.
My dream of ancient gear decks being viable is hear, all will taste this metal fisting.

@@AngelofDeath-Y2K The reason it isn't so good is because it requires "Ancient Gear" itself, not an "Ancient Gear" monster. The first copy of Ancient Gear needs to be normal summoned which defeats the purpose of why you'd want to special summon from hand, and no way am I gonna run Magnet Circle Lvl 2 to bypass that.

First off: I love your memes. They make me smile.
But let me ask, why do you go for Megaton so often at the start when Chaos Giant would be better? I was beginning to question if Chaos Giant was even in the game yet.
It depends on the situation. If I am going first, I will usually go for Megaton due to its floating effect. If I am going second, it depends on my hand and the opponent's board. Chaos Giant has protection from Limiter Removal, so if I have Limiter Removal, I won't go for Chaos Giant. Chaos Giant can attack only monsters multiple times, and Megaton can attack as many times as Ancient Gear Golems were used for its materials. Megaton is sometimes my choice if the opponent doesn't have many monsters. Also sometimes if I think my opponent has an out for my board, I will go with Megaton because I assume my opponent will trigger its floating effect. A lot more thought goes into my plays than most would think.

Have you tried incorporating the Vernusylph engine? Those cards allow you to special summon AG monsters since they are all Earth. Downside is that the special summons happen in the grave so might be easy to counter but still consider

@@christopherrogers532 I would do 2 of the duck, the fairy dude(foolish burial for earth monsters) and maybe 1 of the bear for a free draw 1. If on the off chance you have two lvl4 vernusylph for T1, you can make bagooska as a safe board ender along with AG howitzer (summon howitzer then bagooska to avoid negating yourself).
Maybe for an alternate deck. I value this deck's purity.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't use utility links much for Ancient Gears because if you don't win quickly, the utility links will only slow down your loss as opposed to winning the game.

It's hard to do that in montage form. Though since I have so many subs recently, I am thinking of releasing a vid going over the tech of how to use this deck and what cards lie under the hood of this beast.
there seems to be a lack of consistency, like you are drawing the high hitters instead of making the right combos
Honestly, it's a lot more consistent than you think. You need the heavy hitters in your hand if you are going to fuse the right monsters. This isn't a combo deck. It's a beatdown deck. Though I could certainly use earth machine support to add more consistency, I just really never saw a reason to.
No urgent schedule?, one of the best cards for any based earth machine deck and you dont run it.
Overload fusion its a better option for necro fusion
You need to polish the main & extra deck
I don't use Urgent Schedule because its too reliant on my opponent for my tastes. Also Overload Fusion is too limited. It can only summon Chaos Ancient Gear Golem. Sometimes I want to be ready to summon another of the fusion monsters.

What's it like to have a PhD in dueling?
A lot of work. Just this morning I had to duel this Hero player who showed up for try-outs late. He got one-shot, but I thought he was funny. I let him into Ra Yellow. Was gonna put him in Slifer Red, but we closed that dorm years ago. I think it's just Jaiden and a cat there now...

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. This is the most unoptimized garbage ancient gear deck I've ever seen. This is horrible. No urgent schedule. No Mechanical Hound, No Droplets, No Verte Anaconda and Overload Fusion. Fucking 3 golem and 3 ultimate pound? This man has enough bricks to build a house and then some. You maxed out on all the fusions instead of playing tech cards like bagooska, gear gigant or dugares. No Infinitrack Anchor Drill. No Trains. Like seriously, if you're gonna max out on the extra deck fusions, you might as well run 3 pot of extragavence for a free pot of greed. At that time, pots were legal. Sheeesh. Rant over.

@@creepygamercomI try to be positive when I can! Don't feel bad. Your critiques are spot on. While I actually don't brick often (oddly enough), it's still a problem. This is just the deck I made myself without looking up any additional info, and it's worked really well so far. Maybe in the future, I'll take your advice for the next montage!
