They weren't kidding when they said this thing's legendary. I mean it took on a Jagd Doga and a Mobile Armor (cant spell its name 😅) WITH ZERO DAMAGE?? Youve got to be the smartest, most insane designer to be able to make a machine this good
Well, Amuro's piloting skill is at its peak and Quess Paraya, the pilot of the mobile armor, Alpha Azieru is pretty much a spoiled brat and not a good pilot.
I think the Nu Gundam's greatest strength besides its psycho frame was simply its lack of extra weapons outside the Fin Funnels. Not having to divert power to things like a mega cannon or worrying about a transformation gimmick really helped to focus all its power into sheer performance output. Equipped with upgraded versions of the weapons Amuro was familiar with allowed him to fight without worrying about adjusting too much to new equipment (besides the fin funnels again, which came back to haunt him). Really this thing is more of the true successor to the RX-78-02 because Amuro had a lot of design input and wanted something he was truly familiar with.
I guess you can Say that The Nu Gundam is the True Succesor to Specifically Amuro's RX-78-2, Meanwhile the Alex is More like a True Succesor to the RX-78-2 for True Skilled Ace Pilots and Newtypes in General.
Reading this makes me think about the design philosophy of the Japanese sports car tuner Mines. Their R34 GTR is notoriously fast while being quite minimalist in aesthetics.
While i agree with most of what you said, I think Amuro is just a great all around pilot. He used more than just Gundam units while in the Gryps conflict and Moon Gundam, and was probably familiar with all sorts of control inputs on other MS series so he could pilot the heck out of any MS he got his hands on. Out of all the other Newtype protagonists, he was the one more dedicated to being a professional pilot, though maybe not the most powerful Newtype. Char was a great pilot too, but he pretty much fell behind Amuros skills and became a politician.
It's amazing what Amuro can do on an unfinished machine. He took down squads of Geara Dogas, Alpha Azieru, Jagd doga and the Sazabi. He only took 2 -3 hits from those skirmishes. With two of those hits just him losing a weapon.
In a setting such as UC, the Nu/Hi-Nu is especially overpowered thanks to its Psycoframe and with Amuro backing it up, it's near invincible. Incredibly powerful funnels that can also form a barrier around it, a larger weapon pool and, let's not forget this: this is the same machine that pushed a speeding asteroid away while it was plummeting through the atmosphere with magic. This is the suit that single-handedly ended the second Neo Zeon war.
That's cause Amuro is a veteran in this movie as evidenced by his skilled use of tactics. Even so he failed to stop Char from dropping fifth luna and couldn't control the funnel properly. So he did struggle initially. He didn't stop Axis by itself. Axis was stopped cause the psychoframe resonated with Sazabi and human will collectively pushing it back.
@@chizurin yeah, imagine being a mobile suit pilot for 13 years, fighting and surviving 3 wars prior to the 2nd Neo Zeon War, from that very emotional 16 year old teenager to a 29 year old MS Squadron Leader and Ace Pilot... And his character development... Amuro is a freaking legend
This is awesome. The psycommu funnel system. Can be useful to non newtypes too. Every universal century gundam unit including the G-Savior, came from the original gundam mech. And every separate gundam timelines, all hail from the universal century timeline.
This the most legendary gundam ever.. it is well designed and not too complicated. It has still the logical UC design that focus on realism in favor of cool over the top design. No matter how many more new gundams in the future, this and rx 78-2 the 1st gundam will forever marked as the legendary gundam .
Novel actually. The Hi Nu is the proper configuration for the Gundam. The Novel was Gundam Char's Counter Attack Beltorchika's Children. There is a comment by Amuro on the Nu Gundam being incomplete ( almost ironic as Char's last machine in the OYW was only 80% complete). Goes to show just how insane Amuro's engineering is.
People complain about the strike freedom is because it doesnt get it and it pilot is a God mode M.S. Nu or hi-nu isnt that O.P to begin with. If you want O.P look no further then 00 quanta, Turn a, turn x, devil gundam, God gundam and Master gundam.
@@barrybend7189 to be fair almost all Gundam is build based or only the right pilot can show it's full potential, without the pilot those Gundam are still strong but not we can say a one man army
Qant is stupid strong but I personally find it to be justified. After all this is the Apex Mobile Suit in the AD timeline and is also built around the first true innovator. After the els war there weren't any major battles that occurred again so further strength wasn't deemed necessary. Can't really comment on Turn A yet. Still in the middle of the 0079 so it's still a long ways to go. Out of topic but "Turn A Turn" is a banger and it's criminally underrated.
The G Fighter Gundams are really strong but that's just because it's G Fighter. Kinda pointless to even compare it to the others when the Gundams in that show are near super robot.
It's remains were recovered along with with cockpit of the Sazabi and the data was taken and used to create the Sinaju Stein and subseqently RX-0 series.
It doesn't get it? What? If Kira is a "God-Mode MS" then why does he have a loss record in both the original and Destiny? And he almost got shot down in his second sortie with the SF. Not OP? In any game it appears in, Hi-Nu is often one of the most powerful suits you can get period, even more so than the Strike Freedom
Kira just got a good MS, i wont think Kira is that attractive or character developed compared to Amuro. Strike Freedom is just for fancy look, most probably attracts some people who love big wings and cool skinny design, but the art taste of people nowadays are slowly shifting towards UC taste, with simple, matured and realistic looking design are more likely to be popular nowadays. SEED series gundam made quite a lot of money during 2010s. But not really that hard sales already in current 2020s. Bandai had shifted their marketing towards UCs and IBO product lines.
Nothin' against the Nu Gundam, but for what was suppose to be Amuro's last Gundam, I'm a bit disappointed. V is the great symbol for nu, but I guess you know this by now
