Best multi tool iv used to be honnest is the 18v stanley fatmax it put performed aeg by a mile makita also have a good one but didn't use it for long but iv had my stanley fatmax 18v for years and been beaten up heaps and the release on it is actually really good in my opinion
It’s a common problem with that multi tool. I’m pretty sure there is an alternative pin you can get to replace the stock one that isn’t as brittle. The wing tips underneath the cap that came off are prone to breaking too. I feel like it’s a heat issue when the blade gets hot and transfers to the pin
I actually had the exact same thing happen with the Makita Starlock system, the pin broke off in the tool though, which sucked! It was under warranty and ended up getting repaired but i am wary it will happen again now..
Yes it happened to me also. I couldn't believe how easy it was to break off. It did snap back on though and I haven't had a problem since. I don't know why it would be designed that way. Snapping it back on did seem to take a little time and I was very surprised when it did. I thought it was broken for good for sure
Did you really said that you can glue that pin back? Force applied on it while using are massive comparing to dropping a multitool from a foot or two off the ground
Would be a great opportunity for you to test that limited lifetime warranty and to do a video on it!

The same thing happened to me. I tried all different epoxies and they all failed. I’m gonna have my buddy weld something on it
HiKoki tools are very repairable so I'm sure you can get a new part
had the same problem that happened, I ended up brazing a metal washer to the end of it. tried different glues all failed pretty quickly
My pin is still great and I got that Multitool as soon as it got released.

What hikoki needs to do is release a full metal pin
DeWalt is the only multitool I will ever use again! The blade change is a game changer 💯
