Just thinking about the elderly apostle writing these words to his beloved Timothy knowing that he could pulled from his cell and knowing that he could be executed at any moment. Truly Paul knew the One he believed in and we can also know Him in a personal way!
Actually it was written by John. He was the last one surviving and had not yet been arrested. There were four books written by John in the New testament which have been removed. There is no Timothy in true scripture. I put the tune to the words in the chorus to help me remember them when I was a tiny child. The actual words were "I know now" (KJV) not "But I know whom" I was so inspired by the writings of John. Paul/Saul did not emerge until 100 years after Jesus' death. He was well provided for with quill, parchment and desk in a Roman prison, where as the true Apostles were caught and tortured to death, each in a different way X
I lived a sinful life style for 60 years; gambling, & running around…I read Bible book stories about all of the giants of the Old Testament, as a child, so I was aware, but didn’t live it…. The Lord chose me out of HIS love, and I’ve been serving HIM for eighteen years now…. Paul was a Giant!!! What faith!!! This song is my all time favorite…. To think of all the struggles our early forefathers had, is mind boggling…. Thank you, FATHER, for saving the wretched man that I am!! Sure glad I didn’t have to earn it…. Saved by the Precious BLOOD…

That verse in 2 Timothy 1, led me to this song. The profound faith and trust that Paul had in God even while in jail teaches us to be strong and never grow weary. I can feel his blood running through my veins. Hallelujah!
So happy that I found these hymns. I'm bombarding my soul with them to replace all the years of trash and nonsense ruckus that has complimented my old sinful habits. To God be the glory, because I find myself humming these hymns to myself more and more. It feels good to sing along to words of life instead of death
I love this comment. When I listen to hymns like these I feel built up and renewed in faith. I wasted so many years filling my mind with the trash of the world. I never realized just how much influence the music that we listen to has on our daily life. Hymns that I haven't sung since I was a kid will pop into my memory and I go searching for them to re-listen. It is food for the soul.

That's the gospel to Israel. We are Gentiles. As Paul told the Philippian jailor, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. You need to study dispensational truth so you what pertains to Israel and what pertains to church. Sadly you are in error.
@bensouthwick1508 Sadly you are in error, dispensationalism especially hyper dispensationaliam is a cult of the doctrine of devils and a departure from the historic faith. Peter Ruckman, Les Feldick, John Darby, Robert Breaker etc etc and all the others who have indoctrinated you are false teachers and heretics. The Gospel does not require you to be taught by special teachers a certain"dispensational truth". Sin is the issue, if you are not born of Water and of Spirit, you will not inherit the Kingdom of God. You must be born again to see the Kingdom of God. Any gospel that does not preach holiness and us putting on Christ daily in his death burial and resurrection is a false gospel, a doctrine of devils, a gospel that appeals to the flesh. If you believe Paul peached a different gospel than that of Jesus our Lord than you are a heretic. If you believe Paul preaches from scripture that the Jew has special privileges over the Gentile believer and not unity in Christ as a new spiritual Israel than you have missed the entire purpose of the New Testament/New Covenant in Christ. The pure precious gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing. Read your bible, Repent of your sins and receive the Holy Spirit. This is biblical regeneration. If you do not hate sin you are not born again. If you believe Christ has not already established His Kingdom and is seated at the right hand of God than you are not in the apostolic faith and are deceived with a false gospel. Many people who get caught up in Hyper dispensationaliam are living out of reaction because they have been hurt in there past and either have unresolved bitterness, or have not gain victory over sin in there life and are in bondage. "Dispensational truth" is a false gospel that appeals to the flesh. It closely resembles heresies ironically Paul also John and the early church were battling against the nostics. Your theology is stooped in Augustinianism/ nostic Calvinism and is not the pure faith. Repent of your sins, receive the Holy Spirit or you will not see the Kingdom of God. God is not respector of persons.
This song is very wonderful to know how great what God has done for our salvation. Now and future we are in His hands until His Day!!! Thank God for His blessing. Thanks for this song.
I woke up on the fifth of July 2021 with this song's Chorus ringing out in my heart. So I check it out on youtube and found these beautiful words in the song, I knew it before, but finding it again and it refreshed my soul. The Lord my God, woke me up in the middle of the night to get intouch with Him through this song. Then I saw His words in Timothy 1:12. What a blessing ?
You know, I grew up knowing this song in church. Had No idea it's from a Bible verse until yesterday as I was studying Timothy and as I was reading it, it was like de ja vu. I knew I heard that before!!! Wow. Talk about full circle moment. 😂❤❤
2 Timothy 1:12 “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”
We sing this hymn in our BSF group, and it always warms my heart. There are so many things we know not, and must wait until "that day" to learn, but this I know: I know not how this saving faith To me He did impart, Nor how believing in His Word Wrought peace within my heart. But "I know Whom I have believed, And am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I’ve committed Unto Him against that day."
Joann Fitzgerald But Yeshua is worthy, it's His righteousness we wear, not our own. Faith in Him and obedience to His Word makes your calling sure (worthy) Shalom. 😄
Then I said: “Woe is me, for I am ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips dwelling among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of Hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, and in his hand was a glowing coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And with it he touched my mouth and said: “Now that this has touched your lips, your iniquity is removed and your sin is atoned for.” Isaiah 6:5-6
Among all the negative voices that we have encountered in our lifetime, we should know that we are convinced of the word of God. We know that Jesus is the one in whom we believe.
To God be all the glory. He doesn't break His covenant nor alter the Word of His lips.He is constant, the same yesterday, today and forever faithful and true, throughout all the ages. an excellent statement of my faith....
Amen. The Lord never will break his covenant and this scripture placed in song turns me not necessarily to Paul’s faith but to the One whom he believes. All God’s promises are yes in Christ and in him alone. What a saviour! Hallelujah!
What a Beautiful Hymn , I remember it from when I was little , 65 years ago .. Funny how Special Songs stay with Us , But we forget so many other things 🙏🦋🌸
Wonderful Hymn. Beautifully sung. So needed in our world today. When death and corruption are on every side we need a hope, and the Mennonite choir sing of our blessed hope. Irrespective of our denominational affiliation we believe in a risen Saviour who died for our sins and now ever lives to make intercession for us. Thank you for warming my heart and my spirit with these tones and words of assurance.
during my waiting time for answer prayers this song is always my consolation, brethren, when you know whom you have believed you will patiently wait for his return, because when he says i will return trust he will, like when he told Abraham that he will return he did. just love this song so much
Preciosa melodía me encanta , soy de la iglesia menonita de Nicaragua amó ser parte de una hermandad donde fallamos si pero pedimos perdón y luchamos para ser mejor y fieles a la voluntad de Dios
My all-time favorite hymn, first heard at Ridgecrest Baptist Assembly in the NC mountains, summer of 1947, when I was 11 years old. Asking for it to be sung at my funeral, yet unscheduled; but we all must remember that life is a terminal condition.
Does anyone want this song played at the birth of their baby ? Seems that funerals are mentioned as the event where this hymn is played. I sing this song when I need God’s reassurance and courage, because I do a pavement outreach for the unborn baby under threat from abortion. I do it for the Lord Jesus Christ. Save the babies and help the ladies ! . . . . . . . . Amen?
I was reading 2 Tim. 1:12 this morning. I had to look up this hymn written in 1883. The truths are eternal. I learned this Hymn in my youth at Hayden Avenue Baptist Church in East Cleveland. I have not thought about the words in this hymn until today after reading the scripture the hymn writer had in mind. To God be the glory.
Sounds like the same reaction to the hymn that I had at the age of 11, and studying the scripture passage later to get the full meaning. I take it to be the a statement of the personal covenant that the Apostle Paul had with God, and that we can have also if we accept His Grace, and follow accordingly.
Thank you, Jesus for this hymn . God speaks through songs of encouragement. Pray to end abortion. Save the babies, help the ladies and stop the crazies . Amen. . . . ..Amen? Matthew10 v26 Do not be afraid of them therefor. For everything that is now covered will be uncovered, and everything now hidden will be made clear. What I say to you in the dark , tell in the daylight; what you hear in whispers, proclaim from the housetops.
MissyB 75 , what do you mean when you say, “We could go on and on”. A person is different from an animal. We are made in the image and likeness of God - see the book of Genesis.
Thank you Lord for saving my life and blessings for the eternal life. I know I am saved with the blood of Your son. His sacrifice makes me able to call you Father. Thank you Lord 🙏
It is God that girds me the strength and makes my way perfect. Psalm 18:32 Our Lord, spoke this to me as I was seated on the platform with my husband in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in 1980. It’s still holds true today and every day no matter what we face, have to bear, go through or experience ! H E L I V E S ! H E R E I G N S ! H E H E A L S ! Receive your healing now In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth The Savior of the World ! Amen and Amen.
We can never know how the Spirit of God moves convincing men of sin, revealing Jesus through the word and creating faith in Him. May the Spirit move in our hearts and convince us of our sin. #the science of soul winning
Sometimes the tempter comes to plant a lie but a I thank God that He has given me The Holy spirit who quickly interjects with this hymn. I thank God that I completely believe and trust in Him. He will never never let me down. I am completely pursuaded.
Wow! I'm reading a book right now that is referring to 2 Timothy 1:12. I had no idea this hymn referred to an actual Bible verse! That's what I love about these substantive old hymns--so many Bible-based lyrics & messages!!
I read Saint John's writings about his fear that he would not stand firm under the persecution and frequent torture of Christians in the time following the death of Jesus Christ. After much anxiety he proclaims: 'I know now, I am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed, unto Him against that day.' These writings were so inspirational X
I know not why God’s wondrous grace To me He hath made known, Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love Redeemed me for His own. Refrain But I know whom I have believèd, And am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I’ve committed Unto Him against that day. I know not how this saving faith To me He did impart, Nor how believing in His Word Wrought peace within my heart. Refrain I know not how the Spirit moves, Convincing us of sin, Revealing Jesus through the Word, Creating faith in Him. Refrain I know not what of good or ill May be reserved for me, Of weary ways or golden days, Before His face I see. Refrain I know not when my Lord may come, At night or noonday fair, Nor if I walk the vale with Him, Or meet Him in the air. Refrain
I hear this song, and I think of one specific great lady, a former Pastor's wife I once knew and seeing her sing this hymn in that wonderful vibrato soprano voice she possessed that she now glorifies the Lord in Heaven with.
I woke up this morning singing this song in my mind. It was only the last verse and the chorus that I remembered.I wanted to hear it to get the rest of the words. I don’t know why the Lord put this song in my mind while I slept. 10/17/2022
Naseem Javaid Thank you Jesus for your true promises that you will come and take me in your kingdom. I believe , Jesus make me strong in faith thank you for giving me this hope.
I have been going through a spiritual battle recently and in prayer as I awoke this morning God brought this old hymn to my mind and the scripture 2 Timothy 1:12 and then on to Hebrews 12:1 and then Philippians 3:12-14. Truly His grace is sufficient through everything and His Truth endures through all generations!
"Reavaling Jesus through the word, Creating faith in Him" this is a beautiful hymn. It means that the words represent Jesus. Thank you Jesus for love and mercy to us.
No matter what kind of human I am, He is able to protect me and save me and bring me to Him. Father I am really relieved knowing that you can safe me and can turn me to yourself.
Thank you for this hymn, and as it says I know whom I have believed and I trust that He will keep all that I commit to against that day. Thank You, Lord Jesus for everything.
2 Timothy 12..for which reason therefore I am suffering these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know I Whom I have been believing and I have been persuaded that He is able to guard my deposit for that Day. 2 Timothy 1;12 as above. praise the Lord Jesus.
2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: "For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."
“For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day.” 2 Timothy 1:12 “Thou art my God from my mother’s belly.” Psalm 22:10

Amen
That's the gospel to Israel. We are Gentiles. As Paul told the Philippian jailor, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. You need to study dispensational truth so you what pertains to Israel and what pertains to church. Sadly you are in error.
@bensouthwick1508
Sadly you are in error, dispensationalism especially hyper dispensationaliam is a cult of the doctrine of devils and a departure from the historic faith.

The Gospel is foolishness to those that are perishing. Sadly you are in error, dispensationaliam is the doctrines of devils.
am truly persuaded that He is able to keep that which committed unto Him until that day!
Am really persuaded that He is able. Thank you Lord.
Jesus Christ I believe in you I believe in your knowledge I believe in your power I believe in your wisdom. I believe in your plans for me. Amen
This song is very wonderful to know how great what God has done for our salvation. Now and future we are in His hands until His Day!!! Thank God for His blessing.
Thanks for this song.
Praying for a hedge of protection around the people I love. For the Lord exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth.
O Lord...I need You in everiday of my life...without Your Help...I'm lost..
Thanks to Jesus for His love and mercy to us.
This was one of my Father's Favorite hymn. He went to the Lord a few days ago. I will always remember him whenever I hear this hymn.
2 Timothy 1:12
“For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”
We sing this hymn in our BSF group, and it always warms my heart. There are so many things we know not, and must wait until "that day" to learn, but this I know:
I know not how this saving faith
To me He did impart,
Nor how believing in His Word
Wrought peace within my heart.
But "I know Whom I have believed,
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I’ve committed
Unto Him against that day."
Oh Lord I am not worthy!
Joann Fitzgerald
But Yeshua is worthy, it's His righteousness we wear, not our own. Faith in Him and obedience to His Word makes your calling sure (worthy) Shalom. 😄
Through Jesus you are worthy.
Then I said:
“Woe is me, for I am ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips dwelling among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King,
the LORD of Hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, and in his hand was a glowing coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And with it he touched my mouth and said: “Now that this has touched your lips, your iniquity is removed and your sin is atoned for.” Isaiah 6:5-6
Only - only - only by His grace thru the blood of the Lamb. > I Peter tells us of our divinely 'appraised value' > I Peter 1:18-19
Yes you are, because Jesus proved you are. 💚
Among all the negative voices that we have encountered in our lifetime, we should know that we are convinced of the word of God. We know that Jesus is the one in whom we believe.
To God be all the glory. He doesn't break His covenant nor alter the Word of His lips.He is constant, the same yesterday, today and forever
faithful and true, throughout all the ages. an excellent statement of my faith....
Thank you for warming my heart and my spirit with these tones and words of assurance.
during my waiting time for answer prayers this song is always my consolation, brethren, when you know whom you have believed you will patiently wait for his return, because when he says i will return trust he will, like when he told Abraham that he will return he did. just love this song so much
Grace Offonime
Faith worketh patience. Amen and God bless. \😃/
Grace Offonime Amen
Surely, this is my confidence and hope in God through Jesus Christ.
I'm taken by this hymn, it's a wonderful song
So grateful to know my Jesus in a very personal way. He truly is my reason for living.
Save the babies and help the ladies ! . . . . . . . . Amen?
God has proven to me so many times that I never doubt. It has been a life of struggles, traumatic events and miracles, too.
Amen. . . . ..Amen?
Matthew10 v26
Do not be afraid of them therefor. For everything that is now covered will be uncovered, and everything now hidden will be made clear. What I say to you in the dark , tell in the daylight; what you hear in whispers, proclaim from the housetops.
Martin J and help the billions of animals tortured and killed each year for human consumption...we could go on and on here couldn’t we?🤷🏼♀️
MissyB 75 , an unborn child is a person. A person is a child of God.
MissyB 75 , what do you mean when you say, “We could go on and on”.
A person is different from an animal. We are made in the image and likeness of God - see the book of Genesis.
Lovely, wonderful, gracious, abounding love.
Receive your healing now
In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth The
Savior of the World ! Amen and Amen.
We can never know how the Spirit of God moves convincing men of sin, revealing Jesus through the word and creating faith in Him. May the Spirit move in our hearts and convince us of our sin.
#the science of soul winning

Yes dear Lord you're Now, yesterday and forever and I only believe you, because I know Whom I believe 🙏🏻🙏🏻.
Sometimes the tempter comes to plant a lie but a I thank God that He has given me The Holy spirit who quickly interjects with this hymn. I thank God that I completely believe and trust in Him. He will never never let me down. I am completely pursuaded.
Read the bible n pray everyday like how we eat n drink daily, go for fasting occasionally and and check out derek prince
After much anxiety he proclaims:
'I know now, I am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed, unto Him against that day.'
These writings were so inspirational X
yes father i know who i believe....even when I'm discouraged in life I know u're faithful
He is always there, even when I doubt it. What an awesome God we have.
Lour we know how Great you are from you it's our salvation ,Father Your love for us is beyond measures.Amen
What joy fills my soul that God is the same yesterday, today and forever!!!! So very faithful and loving!!!!
Such an inspiring son - we sing this in our church - Love it !
Thak you Jesus
I know not why God’s wondrous grace
To me He hath made known,
Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love
Redeemed me for His own.
Refrain
But I know whom I have believèd,
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I’ve committed
Unto Him against that day.
I know not how this saving faith
To me He did impart,
Nor how believing in His Word
Wrought peace within my heart.
Refrain
I know not how the Spirit moves,
Convincing us of sin,
Revealing Jesus through the Word,
Creating faith in Him.
Refrain
I know not what of good or ill
May be reserved for me,
Of weary ways or golden days,
Before His face I see.
Refrain
I know not when my Lord may come,
At night or noonday fair,
Nor if I walk the vale with Him,
Or meet Him in the air.
Refrain
its Friday noon Happy Sabbath to All the Adventist at the South Pacific Region.....its mid 2021 still listening to the hymns...
Christ has redeemed for His own and He has imparted this faith to me that I belong to Him alone.
Oh Hallelujah thank you Lord Jesus forever Amen.
I hear this song, and I think of one specific great lady, a former Pastor's wife I once knew and seeing her sing this hymn in that wonderful vibrato soprano voice she possessed that she now glorifies the Lord in Heaven with.
I know not 2moro but know that he who created & knows 2moro will keep me & my family in him till his smiling face we see - Amen!
These are awesome songs. People should hear these songs. About God and Jesus that I love very much.
These beautiful hymnal will forever remain in my humble heart..... Praise the Lord!!!👍👍
I woke up this morning singing this song in my mind. It was only the last verse and the chorus that I remembered.I wanted to hear it to get the rest of the words. I don’t know why the Lord put this song in my mind while I slept. 10/17/2022
In times of hardships remember whom we have believed. I love this song

Thank you Jesus for your true promises that you will come
and take me in your kingdom.
I believe , Jesus make me strong in faith thank you for giving me this hope.
Such a comforting and uplifting song that brings hope and reassurance in these challenging times. Thank God for His wonderful goodness
What a beautiful song, I remember my mom singing this hymn when I was growing up. Now that I asked Jesus into my heart I understand it's Comfort.
I am truly blessed. Played this song on the feast of the conversion of St. Paul. That I too may be persuaded time and again to believe in God always.
Absolutely beautiful voices. Acapella is always just wonderful with good harmonies.
A most excellent hymn of the pure grace and faithfulness of our wonderful Savior, and Father God.
I loved these since I was a little boy who ever posted this thank you

unto him against that day."
