MPC One - so so much packed into this little box for the money - this piece of kit is what true democratisation in music is all about, providing a quality outlet to anyone with the talent and determination to show their artistry to the world. Much like the Tascam 244 did in the 80's & Atari ST/Cubase in the 90's. Thanks Freebeat 👍
there’s something i’ve learned about being a great artist: be multi-talented! you can’t only specialize in one app/program/device; you must be great with multiple! just like you, freebeat. you can use the op-1, op-z, pocket operators, volca, monotron, model cycles, mpc… you are a great artist
With modern music I think you’re right. I don’t know where genius hides with these chord progression features though. Since machines (I love them) music has become very 4/4. It’s not so easy on a machine to program odd times signatures but as a band it was simple. So long as you can count. Nowadays knowing I.T seems as important as knowing anything about music. Deadmau5 even boasted about knowing no music theory!! Which to me sums modern music up.
@@jamisbillson4872 yeah modern "mainstream" music is so bad. Can you imagine having to have face and neck tattoos to be "legit"? The good thing is that there are tons of amazing musicians and bands out there. They're just not on the billboard charts etc. That's the one good thing about social media.
That's a good point. Kinda like understanding different ways of getting a particular result and see how different elements fit together across different workflows. The big picture.
@@pappysheart6710 I was expecting some rant about not knowing how great our modern musicians are. Comparing music from pre & post 2000 is staggering. Little Mix or Abba? Jimi Hendrix or Ed Sheeran? The Beatles or One Direction? Rolling Stones or The Wanted? James Bay or Prince? Kanye West or Michael Jackson? In the U.K. it’s rare for people to have heard of Nine Inch Nails…my band. But everyone knows Beyoncé!!! I was in WHSmiths (newsagents) a while back. There was a group of young girls…about 13 or 14 years old. They were all fawning over a One Direction book. One girl said to the others…”You know Liam plays the guitar?”!!!! So it’s now a surprise when a ‘Musician’ plays a fucking instrument these days. Sad.
Thanks So Much... Getting an MPC live 2 next week and cannot wait.. I have So many problems with computers updating at inappropriate times among other reliability issues... really hate them.. Started looking for any kind of Hardware solution 8 months ago and stumbled on the mpc ... what a great fix.. You folks broadcast have opened my eyes to the possibilities.. Thanks So Much...
The chords thing is cool, but I'm most psyched that I never realized you could get to that section by double clicking on 16 levels. it just never occurred to me for some reason so thanks for that.
You can double click on any red labeled button. Use shift+play/start for enabling metronome. Holding main button or menu button and pressing a pads helps moving in system.
Missed an opportunity to demo the arpeggios with the Canon progression.. What are your pad settings? I have so many problems with double strikes when playing melodic instruments.

Glad I have been able to play at least a small part in your MPC journey, have fun!
I found this video very informative and inspiriting. Thank you!
I can never hear your intro without hearing "welcome to Freebeat, where I post musical content/welcome to Freebeat, I've got content"
Yes that's a great feature! Nice example 👍
The MPC One is a beast!
It certainly is!

You got a subscription just for playing Canon on the MPC 🐐 😤
Suuuuuuuper!

Super helpful content.. as usual!
Bummer you weren’t there for my wedding! I’d a hired you to lay down that live Canon jam!
I love hype bank
Yeah it's awesome!
You make it look easy. Somehow I can't get it that easily on my MPC ONE... 😆
For the price the MPC ONE is a beast!

Canon chords is from Trans -Siberian Orchestra -Canon Christmas song live version
As soon as I saw "Canon" I knew you were going to put it in D, and I almost started yelling "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
The Canon scores every Hallmark Channel ever made!
The Canon makes the score for every Hallmark Channel and Lifetime movie ever made!
This makes me wonder if you could create your own progressions for any song and save it. Eg cannon.
You can create your own progressions as of Update 2.8 I think. Search on UA-cam, Tubedigga has a video on it as do others.
Add Chords to a track -> Click Edit on the track -> Convert to Progression ua-cam.com/video/ExsPhhulpwo/v-deo.html
i dont have the piano on my mpc one
I don't know..if you don't know what a chord progression is. You should not be making music..that's Abit ..you know!!!
