@@itsemmamoffat YES OMG I’m a huge fan of hers! Thank you so much for releasing this, which I searched for years.😊This short film is so amazing. I’m looking forward to seeing more films written and directed by you!🥳
This was masterful on every level. From the performances to the craft - outstanding. Incredibly smart decisions made within the framework of short filmmaking - the economy of resources doesn’t make the story feel any smaller, given the implied scale just beyond each of the intimate frames. No doubt there are huge things to come from Emma as a filmmaker.
An amazing film, thank you so much for sharing it publicly. It's pieces like this that inspire me to want to create art, so thank you for bringing a small spark within me back.
i read about this film a year or two ago and really wanted to check it out, so thank you so much for sharing it! an interesting and rarely told story with a great performance from jessie buckley (as usual). i think it's also very beautifully shot. i'd love to see a feature film with similar themes.
That's lovely to hear! Glad to release it so you can watch it freely. Thrilled you enjoyed it and I'd love to make a longer form piece similar to it... let's see!!
How did you get Jessie to do this project? Amazing, every time she's doing a project, me sitting right there ready to see what she's going to do. Must be a dream come true to work for her especially coming off from her excellent Oscar winning movie, Women Talking
Absolutely, she's fantastic in everything she does! We had a wonderful casting director, Lauren Evans who built the cast so I owe it all to her. Glad you enjoyed the film, thank you for watching!
@@itsemmamoffat If I was a film director, Jessie is in my list of actors I desperately want to work with so I'm jealous that you got her to do a short film 😂😂😭 But still congrats on that
Very well put together and like you say, stories like these are rarely told and need to be expanded on. I have a short WW2 film currently doing well at some festivals right now and being a actor myself (Or trying to be, for the matter) this is what makes me wanna do that more of hopefully. To be able to help tell stories like these. Great work again!
Thanks so much for your kind words Aaron! I totally agree, there are so many stories from history to inspire and empower us today. Good luck with your short in the festivals!
Emma Moffat, the Writer & Director of 'A Battle in Waterloo' here! Firstly, thank you so much for your comments! I love reading your thoughts on the film. In case anyone here is interested, I'm trying to make another short film and have managed to raise just over half of the funding privately, but we need help to complete the funding and get the film off the ground! Do check out our Crowdfunder campaign here for SCOPE! www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/scope-short-film I am aiming to make it this year, with a stellar cast and and incredible crew. We would be so grateful if anyone is in a position to support us or to share our page with anyone interested in supporting the arts/ emerging talent. All the best, and thanks again for your support, discussion and enthusiasm!
It looks amazing in all respects but you need a whole film to explain how a black woman ends up passing as a male officer in Wellington's army and how this same woman ends up being married to an Irish woman.
A black african woman at Waterloo ?...evidence please or is that racist to ask ?. A single jamaican soldier fought at Waterloo but an african woman ???
@@maryam_4437 Why is it weird to want historical accuracy...im not upset...im pi@@ed...i cant stand africans re writing the history of my once beautiful country.

Never heard of this incident.
Is this Sir John Colborne 's regiment at Waterloo?
Pellet? Shot or ball.
