Alicia is slowly starting to get into all the great indie animations on youtube and I'm totally here for it
next must absolutely be hazbin hotel and helluva boss!
@domin1222 oh yeah, she will Love both shows!
@@Chamoun101 Hellbenders and all the old Egoraptor webtoons as well!
Heya
And Lackadaisy! Gotta hit all the Michael Kovach shows.
Liam Vickers has his own channel with a short horror series called Internicion Cube a a pilot for another show called cliffside.
This series is seemingly made with pausing and analyzing details in mind. Knock yourself out.
i am on a mission to watch all the murder drones reaction videos so thnx for more content. I. CRAVE. MORE.
I'm so glad you're checking out this amazing series. Glitch Productions always does amazing work, and I have to give mad props to the creator, Liam Vickers. He did an excellent Job bringing this world to life and creating these amazing, mostly deranged characters. Also, N is such a precious little murder bean.
Agreed
Liam Vickers is always great from his designs and art to the character's personalities, if you look at his earlier works like interaction cube, cliffside and even his first animation "Lets split up" the characters are very similar personality wise same with the humor
We may need to warn her about the fandoms of these series too.
@@nomorerush3118how bad are the fandoms
@@carsonofson2347 undertale bad
One thing I love about this show is how it manages to somehow feel gorey despite the main characters being robots.
I call it the Samurai Jack Clause. As long is it's oil and not blood, you can spill as much of it as you like
Are they though? ARE THEY?
No, seriously, are they?
Alicia: "He's just a sweet father"
The entirety of chat: "Well... see, here's the thing..."
54 likes and no replies? Lemme fix that.
Literally asked the chatters why they hate him and bans them. Toxic af but hilarious xD
during the showcase of showing how famous her dad was there was one that said "doors are my real child/daughter" (don't remember which) and "Khan Doorman on how to deal with your disappointing failure of a daughter"... yahhhhh... he's not the best though feel like he does get better towards the end
idk why she asked if she didn't want an answer
@@mrce420.7and idk why people felt compelled to say they hated the father in chat when they could have waited until the event their hate was based on happened. Waiting a few minutes to avoid spoilers isn't hard.
Something to note about Murder Drones is that its the result of Glitch meeting a UA-camr Liam Vickers who has been trying to make a show for a while. One thing led to another and Murder Drones became the result. For anyone curious he had 1 pilot called "Cliffside" on his channel and a small storyboarded series known as Internecion Cube.
He also had another channel called SSTWL (scary story time with Liam). On that channel he does readings of creepypastas, both pre-existing and ones created by himself. Though now the channel is defunct.
It would be nice if she watched Internecion Cube too because it's really great.
@@Oceane1803 She just needs to watch alot of his stuff tbh. IC is amazing. But to be frank since she listens to like SCP descriptions and is fine with videos that are like just voice overs, I think SSTWL would make sense for her to watch. Design should be her first SSTWL story.
@@Oceane1803 I really hope liam goes back to Internecion Cube after murder drones. That series was great, I really hope he continues it or perhaps even finds a way to work with a larger team to fully realize internecion cube past the storyboards.
@@qwertydavid8070 He said he will continue Internecion Cube. I love that series too ^^
I really like the parralell character arcs between N and Uzi they both start off in the same situation but on opposed sides.
Both outsiders bullied or ignored by their peers, they both have surface level crushes on the only person that isnt mean to them, they both desperatly seek someone elses approval and both are betrayed by that person.
It makes so much sense that these two would join sides.
All this is again made even more appearent through their complimenting designs and personalitys.
Just great character building, their whole dynamic is one of the absolute highlights of this show, at least for me.
W
💯
Did you say absolute? *absolute solver*
The part where you said "he is just a sweet father" got me dieing 😂
BAH HAHAHAHAHA!
Yay, murder drones time, I was hoping you would find this eventually. This series is great hope you enjoy
You missed a poster earlier when thad says to uzi “id say everyone knows Khans daughter but then you might blow the other half of your face off” with Uzi’s dad on it with a quote from him saying “how to deal with your disappointing failure of a child” There was also a small post-it note that says “doors greater than Uzi” when she was stealing the master door key
Thats depressingly sad
Oh HELL YEAH. Episode 2 is amazing, genuine masterclass in horror cinematography, you gotta watch it someday
I agree! :D
Honestly ep 2 is still my one of top favorite episode of the series, close behind ep 6.
Masterclass is a huge reach. It has to be a little bit unnerving to be horror.
I legitimately love it when Alicia starts geeking out over animation tricks and techniques.
Those guys didn't spoil anything, why the hell did they get banned?
By telling her 'You'll see', they revealed that Khan would do something bad enough to warrant being hated, so they caused her to EXPECT him to do something
I dont get the anger about spoiling when people were telling you the dad sucks, it was already shown before then and pointed out that he LITERALLY publicly labels his daughter a disappointment and there was a sticky note by the door out of their house that doors are more important to him than his own damn daughter, hes absolutely a shitty dad just from that. it looked like people were just pointing that out?? idk. seems less like spoilers and more like "you missed how shit he is already shown to be but eventually you'll catch on to all those details"
Actually the style you liked so much its Liam's own signature. He have a short cartoon pilot "Cliffside" that made him famous and got him into Glitch. This one vent viral on launch so i would totally recommend watching this Pilot.
Omg Alicia, you're going to have so much fun with this series! And dont worry about pausing a lot, this series is full of easter eggs to unpack and its a treat to watch
Also one of glitches other series Meta Runner finished up just before they started this one, and I think as a former games commentator, you'll get a particular kick out of it.
Its gets sooo much better the more episodes you watch.
For as small as the team is that worked on it and for good the pilot was, its insane that it actually got even better with each episode. I cant wait to see you react to the rest of it, its a fantastic show, and your reaction to it was everything i hoped it be.
I love the Murder Drones series and have watched several people react to it. So far, Alicia is the only one to point out the dilemma the dad was in. I am really impressed with all the commentary Alicia provides for her videos, it always gives me some interesting view points to consider.
Being a film major definetly gives her an edge in commentary which I'm all here for
@@kittenwizard4703 SHE'S A FILM MAJOR?!?!?!?!? That's so cool! I knew the she was a fighting game commentator but I didn't know about the film major stuff.
A lot of people just write Khan of as a shitty character without consideration for his situation and established motivations and backstory.
I think he is one of the most understandable characters in this show, as we can more or less piece together his whole story through the little details we get about him and Nori, he is definitly a flawed character and he makes some bad choices... but he is also very relatable.
Alicia allways has some great commentary in videos relating to filmmaking and storytelling, its one of the main reasons i enjoy her content.
@@vincentpey3929i hope she likes the little mini arc his character goes through in the coming episodes where he tries to be a better dad; besides the main story line , it’s my favorite part of the series along with V’s.
Alicia fangirling over the way something is made and appreciating animation is not something I knew I needed
I'm glad you're reacting to this series I've been loving it. I'm also glad you're pausing and going back to get details, this show likes to hide stuff in the background.
It's so cool to see you react to Murder Drones, it's one of the best indie Productions I've ever seen and it just gets better from episode to episode!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Alicia made the deep analysis of realizing that the decision of the Dad closing the door does not initially make him a bad guy. Like, the situation Uzi not only put herself in but the rest of the Colony, Uzi's dad being traumatized by the fact that he had to put his own wife down after a different murder drone incident happened, like, bro, it's understandable where he's coming from. Not to say it's justified, but man, like what else was he supposed to do.
She's the first one I've seen actually look at it like that. Which is refreshing tbh.
Can’t wait to see how Alicia reacts to the Uzi and N adventures, especially episode 5-6 if ya know what I mean >;3
Really fun seeing your perspective on these. My daughter made me watch the first episode last week, and a few hours later we had watched the entire series and waiting on the next one.
31:15 he also did not deny to being a coward earlier when Uzi was mentioned about playing cards.
If you are going to continue watching Murder Drones, I'd suggest you check out Liam Vickers other works he has done on his own channel such as Cliffside and Internecion Cube, they are fantastic and you can see the same kind of humor and dark plot as Murder Drones.
Liam Vickers style is just great :)
This is my favourite series on the internet (Helluva boss being close second)
Pro tip always pause to read text in this series such so you don't missed all the jokes and bits of lore like how all dogs were canonically evacuated and also immortal now "thanks to science"
It's cool you're giving this a try since Murder Drones is a great series. Though I hope you'll also give Sunset Paradise and Meta Runner a look. Both series are finished for the moment. So you'd have complete stories to enjoy.
Hey, just a heads up, Murder Drones is a mystery story that's full of "blink and you miss it" moments (which serve as foreshadowing 90% of the time).
I recommend going back to N's "you're dead" screen at 27:36 and the short moment where Uzi's visor glitched during the end of the pilot at 46:54 and looking at it frame-by-frame.
If we are going down the UA-cam Animation Rabbit Hole, Helluva Boss is one I would recommend.
The next episode had one of the few times in my life I mouth "what the f%ck" in legitimate horror
29:07 - Being your roommate would certainly be interesting I'm assuming, lol.
Also, you're the first reacting channel, VTuber or otherwise, to actually comprehend the nuances of the more stressful situations and appreciate the smaller details that help tie everything together. Uzi's father leaving Uzi to die being a good example; most others just passed him off as a coward, bad father, and many other things along those lines. Can't say I wasn't the same way before hearing you talk about it. But _you_ actually understood what was happening, what was going through Khan's head, and why he did what he did. And explained it in a surprisingly digestible format on top of that.
And I _love it._
Him not speaking up when Uzi decided to leave with _the enemy_ was a little much, though.
No fucking way, I knew a lot of comments suggested this but I thought if anything helluva boss would have been fist, let’s go I love this series. I can’t wait for ep2’s reaction because although the pilot was good, it was a proof of concept for the series and episode 2 marks a great increase in quality.
We don't judge Khan to be a bad father for his PTSD episode (or at least I don't), but rather for the interview quotes that show a lack of respect and affection for his daughter. Him having traumatic triggers and defaulting to a defensive mindset is entirely forgivable. Saying your work projects are better than your daughter in a calm environment on the record.... that is where we can judge him harshly.
This is both my favorite Alicia reaction and favorite Murder Drones reaction. The many pauses to read things and analyze the story and cinematography, how much you get into it and really getting the characters, it's all great. I NEED your reaction to the rest of the series now.
Spot on about both V and N. I love how the PIlot has N doing more on-screen murders and freaky/horny stuff while easily holding the crown for most wholesome character.
As for Khan: I like your analysis of the scene where he closes the door but I still think it's an example of him being horrible because leading up to that it's established with a combination of background posters/notes and his dialog that he both values his doors more than his daughter and publicly calls her out as a disappointment because she's not following in his footsteps while likely neglecting to be involved with her at the same time. I'm sure it's all based in the trauma but yeah.
Airier is also really good and finds little details. They both actually react and add to the video, rather than just sitting and smirking once in a while.
@@Shimmering_rain when is bro ever horny 💀💀💀 stop being a freak
I love how the worker drone personalities are all built around “picking up where they left off”. So barring a few times where genuine feelings come out, all the workers seem to be pretty self aware about being a robot pretending to fill a human archetype. Uzi doesn’t have hormones, but she pretends that she does for the sake of her character.
16:23 I will say, although I agree with you about Khan, the news clippings at 6:21 literally say he doesn’t care about her. It's a semi-spoiler, but…
He gets better as a dad, and that’s one of my favorite character arcs in the show and is surprisingly overlooked by a good chunk of the community. I love re-watching this show occasionally, when new episodes are announced to get theory material for what specific things could lead towards. coming I like looking into the characters more to see these little arcs between episodes.
Banning chatters for not spoiling it by saying "Just wait" is crazy. Couldn't be me
@@hickory45acp31 saying “just wait” is still kind of spoiling things to come; it’s like sitting next to people in the theater saying “wait for it, I love this part” throughout the movie. But I do think the time was a bit extreme, at least it’s not a perma ban.
Just a friendly heads up, I HIGHLY recommend pausing and reading everything on screen either on stream or in your own time. Every single scene has very important information. Every flash of color, every background poster, every program that runs across their faces, etc, EVERYTHING is important to the story or world building.
Really hope you continue with the series. It's probably my favorite animated series in recent years and it's all uphill from here, especially in terms of animation quality.
I’m sorry to add more to your list of recommended videos, but I’d like to hear your opinions on Glitch Production’s first episode of their first ever show, Meta Runner. Not many people react to it since the graphics aren’t that great in the first season and it’s not nearly as heavy in humor as is MD and TADC, but Meta Runner is the idea that created Glitch Productions and is pretty well fleshed out for their first show.
Super quick summary: A girl wakes up with no memory in a futuristic world where people are so into video games that they replace their limbs with mech arms so they can win games more easily
wellcome to the glitch rabbithole
To be fair regarding Khan, even _before_ what happens later in the episode, there are multiple shots of notes and magazine covers where he publicly calls Uzi a disappointment and states that he loves doors more than her. So, you know, not exactly Dad of the Year Material even before that moment.
The problem wasn’t that they were telling her khan is a bad dad without us seeing anything bad from him, the problem was that they specifically told her that they hate him because of something she hadn’t seen yet.
@@revolution2762 Oh yeah, I’m not defending the people who chose to spoil; I’m just saying that there was plenty of reason to dislike him well before they tried to do so. (Which honestly makes it even weirder that they tried to allude to spoilers rather than just pointing to his “How to Deal With Your Crippling Disappointment of a Daughter” presentation.)
I requested this in the comments of a few videos, but i stopped when they started disappearing (I assume repeatedly requesting the same thing was unwelcome). I am so glad someone else I watch enjoyed something I enjoy.
N: is a precious bean that needs to be protected at all costs.
Also N: is also a warmachine stuffed with enough weaponry to make the US armory blush.
AIN’T NO WAY ME SEARCHING FOR THIS REACTION 5 HOURS AGO AN ALICIA UPLOADING IT ONE HOUR AGO
W reaction as always Alicia. Love your content 😊
16:21 L moment for those two chatters unfortunate
Bros really got banned for vaguely answering a question
Considering how easily N was able to bust through the roof, while carrying two other robots, I think we can safely say that the muder drones could have busted into the worker's hideaway at any time, but were so limited in their mental abilities, they couldn't think of any way other than going through the front door. Frankly I'm amazed they thought of taking the ventilation ducts, once they were past the first door in hindsight. ^^
At the rate Alicia is going she's either going to get into smg4 or deliberately search for stuff that Michael has lent his voice to, which ever comes first
You'll love this series.
FINALLY?! WOOOOO ❤❤❤
After murder drones, please watch their other series: metarunners
I've been following Liam Vickers work for about 5 years now. I've been so happy that this show got picked up and he's been doing so well with it. Especially after watching his animatics for Inferncion Cube, you can really see the similarities in the types of stories he likes to tell and the sense of style and action he gets across from have just carried over so well. I can't wait for episode 7 and whatever else is to come next.
Another thing from glitch which was the first is mera runner
Would be great for reaction yes yes
If you liked Murder Drones, you might also like Meta Runner, also by Glitch Productions.
I think she’s the first person to see digital circus before murder drones
YOOOOO MURDER DRONES!!!!
YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THIS SERIES
I am soooooooooooooo glad you are reacting to this. Its an amazing show!!! You gotta watch more. Tell me you watching more!!! You also missed some plot clues. Go back to the scene where the door master key is hanging before Uzi takes it....LOOK AT THE PICTURE!!
Glitch's series have a lot of background details that can fill out environment with character and story; i.e. The control panel was telling Uzi to stop smacking it with the key card when she is trying to rush it to close the door.
You might want to check out Liam's earlier pilot "Cliffside." 2D rather than 3, but the same kind of quality, even though he had to cut it by about a third to finish it.
this series is so god damned good, before i watched this video i binged the entire thing and _i must have more._
When a 25 min pilot gets an hour long video you know it's gotta be good. Both the original and the reaction.
A bit of foreshadowing to the dad leaving her. When she takes the key in the beginning there is literally a note with "doors > Uzi" he values his doors over his daughter, so when push comes to shove he chose them.
Glad you enjoyed this. :) .
I'd recommend Liam's other work too, especially the spiritual predecessor to this.
This was the Vampire episode, guess the next ;) .
I recommend also watching the little ad shorts for murder drones.
They are very fun..
Next up watch Liam Vickers' wprks aswell
I don't remember if you watched the Hazbin Hotel pilot, but N's voice actor was there too.
Also, I really recommend Sunset Paradise too from Glitch, it's super fun!
Alicia, given they’re starting up around now, I’d recommend checking out the Blackpool Illuminations. They’re world famous and last for two months at the end of each year.
It should be noted, likeDigital Circus’ gooseworx, the showrunner Liam Vickers has some great 2D animations and Glitch is taking their unique look to the 3D space
I'd love to see you take a look at the rest of this. With your film knowledge, education, and insight, I think you'd get a very deep enjoyment of this series.
I like that Alicia actually realized the point of Khans character, most of the fandom just immediatly went "he abandoned her, shit person" when there is completely sane and understandable reason behind his every action...
He is deeply motivated by his trauma, something that becomes abundandly clear as the series goes on but is allready self evident in ep1.
Khan is way to misunderstood by way to much of the fandom...
He is a terrible father, not a terrible person.
also, he's not Caine.
N is at the same time the Best Boy, the Real One and a Bean!
Very happy to see Alicia watching some UA-cam series.
In recent years, some very high-quality things have been releasing on UA-cam and many reactors ignore/not aware of it.
Her watching Helluva Boss would be a dream come true for some people😅
Yes... YES! So happy to see you watch Murder Drones. So annoyed I missed this stream but oh well. Hope you see the rest.
Liam Vickers also did the Cliffside pilot and Internecion Cube (kind of the origin of the murder drones concept).
In the middle of watching this a red-tailed hawk flew into the living room window.
Sounded like a tree branch in the wind
Between this and episode 2, we got more than a full year of waiting.
And the quality only went up each episode.
I really wanted someone to talk about the dad's decision and situation and your banger of a speech was more than I could ask for.
J with the UMP45 style of no nonsense. Perfect example of why I'm not allowed near robots.
That is a pretty incredible motion capture rig. Ive never seen one thag catches expressions like that.
Finally please do the whole series i think it'll be perfect for you
Nah the dad is definitly a bad dad, he neglected his daughter his entire life and yes you can be mad at your daughter but to be honest, the solution was right there on the ground, it wasn't out of reach, it was beneath his feet, he never trusted his daughter ever and that should have been the first time he should have
Just a tip: this studio, and most of the studios they work with, LOVE to hide tiny secrets, lore, jokes, and further expansions to the universe in almost every single frame. Feel free to pause, zoom, brighten, or what have you, there will be LOTS
Some of the background details were things like quote from Uzi's dad "Dealing with your dissapointing failure of a child", and a post-it note that said "Doors greater than Uzi", he is adorable though
You better watch this whole series, as well as some of their other works like Meta Runner. Such an amazing indie studio
I really appreciate that all these series are raising each other up. Putting to shame some actual high budget studios
42:11 OMG OMG OMG SOMEONE ELSE WHOSE WATCHED RWBY THAT DOES OTHER REACTIONS! Would absolutely love to see reaction on it even if it’s just insights on some scenes.
Very first video of yours I've watched, and I love the way you react! I think you're the first person I've seen take Khan's side after he left Uzi and I can totally understand why. Loving it, I've subscribed!
The fact at least the video came out damn close to when the pilot actually dropped (halloween) is crazy
Hell yeah. I love the lore of this show.
Ok but she literally asked why they hate him. And they responded in a way that specifically doesn’t spoil. And she banned them for spoiling and told them not to come back… Yeesh.
Would you watch Epithet Erased?
Just 7 episodes, and I am 100% sure you're gonna love the characters.
Uzi's dad is kind of just a failure on every level, even ignoring when he abandoned Uzi:
He explicitly cares more about his job than about her (so bad parent); he stood around yelling accusations mid-attack until the last moment (so bad security); and his triple-door design that he is famous for crumbled instantly the moment a single layer went wrong, and had no backup option to fight OR flee (so bad at his singular motivation).
10/10 loser character, would be way worse without him.
Correction it failed once 2 of the 3 layers were bypassed
those 2 guys in chat you banned didn't even spoil anything. They didn't deserve to be banned.
and even after the reveal you still side with the dad!?
YO EPISODE 7 AND 8 ARE COMING OUT IN SPRING NEXT YEAR LET'S GOOOOO
I LOVE how this show translates horror archetypes from sinew to steel.
Just an FYI, for some reason, there are a lot of mistakes in the subtitles for all 6 episodes, so try not to focus too heavily on what they say.
Although there is less later down the line with episode 6, only having like 1, that I saw, but I have no idea how some of them even happened, lol.
Would love to see you watch the pilots for Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss (Helluva has a lot of episodes out too!)
16:04 you talked a lot of shit only to be proven wrong, the lesson is you need to chill elf gal... chill the hell out, dont be so reactionary. 30:50 yup this scene....
