  • On a wet rainy day in September, the MerseyRail Class 507s would run one of their final trips along the Merseyrail Network, a network they have served for over 4 Decades!
The Tour Christened 'The Wirral Swansong' originated at Hooton and ran to Chester and then back to Hooton, where it then ran to Ellesmere Port. After its stop at Ellesmere Port, the 507s ran back along the Wirral, passing Hooton a 3rd time on its way to Liverpool Central. Alongside 507003, Pioneering member of the class 507001, which has been especially painted into a Merseyrail Blue Livery to commemorate its 40+ years of sterling service headed the tour.
Thanks to ‎@ThePlatformEdge for joining me in saying a Fond Farewell to these incredible EMU's!
