Too bad the engine design is junk. BMW hasn't figured out how to fix a simple oiling issue inside the engine. Seriously would you want to spend $ 160,000 for a vehicle that starts developing engine issues around 30,000 miles? Buy a Japanese luxury vehicle and get your money's worth. Anything German built is a disaster.
When people eyeing for a BMW they aren't as concerned about the maintenance cost as most, they usually aware eventually they would spend another $60,000 for the $160,000 car. It is truth that Japanese vehicle are way more economical, but they are never as fun to drive tho.
Super documentary! As a proud owner of an Alpina D3 nr.460 for close to a month now i can attest these cars are an absolute joy to ride! Puts a smile on your face every time!
This full documentary about how Alpina started her career, is a dream to see and hear. I'm so overjoyed that they did it. And a big thank you to everyone who made it possible.
I grew up in a BMW family. I always thought that BMW's sportiest models such as the M cars were at the pinnacle. I was of the opinion "why would you want to deface and modify an already beautiful BMW?" I think that this documentary has well and truly changed my opinion on this now. What an awesome car!
That’s why we love the German engineering. Definitely love and remember the old team which showed the new young guys what real engineering is. Love and will always remember that day
@@denzidk5628 Define a tuner, several German vehicle enhancers are also registered vehicle manufacturers. Well done documentary. This finally answers the question, is Alpina just a 'tuning shop' or an actual manufacturer that partners with BMW!! Now the question is get an Alpina BMW or a car from the M sport division of BMW??
Very well done! Surprised I didn't see this sooner. I really don't like bmw at this point in time due to the styling, and I hate SUVs but I do like the alpina!
Noticed NO Alplina made no AC/Radiator and other coolers attached to the motor test stations at all, so making a larger radiator, cooling for auto transmission etc etc, plus A/C is it on or off and where does the A/C air go to? Is it tested at all, ?
Yes, I agree: all other countries need to stop being such speed-fascists and give their people the freedom which we can see from Germany's example works so well and in fact isn't dangerous despite what authoritarian leaders lie to us about it. (Oh, and Isle of Man as well, though there they don't have motorways, there roads outside villages have no speed limit.)
Automakers should make a program that can be used during the Real Driving Emissions and other tests that allows engineers to drive around on a game like Forza, Gran Turismo or any driving game for consoles or PC and transfers that driving data to the vehicle being tested where it replicates those commands in real time. If they just had an open world game design with random traffic patterns and they could just drive around, even Grand Theft Auto would work, it would probably give them the most reliable testing and data they could hope for. Plus it would make these guy’s jobs a lot more fun.
Als Alpina Fahrer vermisse ich den B5 Touring in der Doku. Ein Alpina kauft man doch hauptsächlich um schnell und sicher mit Gepäck von A nach B zu kommen.
