- Ice Road Wyoming, I-80 | A Day In The Life Of A Truck Driver
This was CRAZY guys! In this video, BKM and I get stuck in the middle of the icy interstate 80 in Wyoming. Wintertime, as a truck driver, can be pretty treacherous. Make sure you're prepared for the weather conditions, or you can easily end up in the predicament we were in. Stay safe out there drivers!

Been at this 38 years, no accidents. If the roads are not clear, park the truck early so you get a safe spot. Always remember, no one pays you enough to chain and risk your life. If the load is late, they will get over it. If you wreck, they will terminate you or cancel your contract and not give a damn about you. Drive smart, stay safe.
True words
I’ve always said when you’re driving you are the boss
I think FedEx requires you to chain up if the roads are not shutdown. LTL carriers are like that. Same for ups & yellow freight.
Best advice i ever got.... NEVER, EVER put chains on to do anything but GET TO THE NEAREST PLACE TO PARK!!!!
Yeah. I bet you sit a lot. Only lazy truckers don't chain
Always carry a backpack of supplies with snacks water and anything you may need, I plow I-25 in Denver, Vail and different mountains in Colorado and sometimes even we get stuck and are there for a while before we get help. Having a backpack has always helped me even if it takes up space I’ll rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it. For some reason I always blow cold air on my windshield and never have a problem while plowing, I just can’t stand having the heat on while driving, I feel like I’m about to fall asleep when the heat is on. Be safe and just drive smart.
Wow thank you! I appreciate your comment! That stretch is no joke. Thanks for all your service out here ☺️
Isabella Estes , you dont plow shit. But still good advice.
@@drdwgmd14 How do you know? What would she gain by lying?

I'm sorry in advance if this is already been said but you can also lower your sun visor when you have your defrost going that'll keep it concentrated on the windshield..I was told that 23 years ago and still use it to this day good little trick that works
@@snek9353 absolutely... And it's free to use LOL
When you lose traction use the rumble strip that in on the side of the road
Exactly
If you don’t see spray from the tires on the road that is a sign that ice is on the road!! Time to pull off and sleep it off until the morning!

Came here to check if this had been said and glad it has been
That's it, better late than never!
In winter Wyoming you need to sleep until spring 😂
“Be nice to everybody.”
This is so rare in this day and age.
I live in Wyoming and we close 80 a lot. Weather on that road can change quickly, or you may have one area that's fine, then 30 miles down the road it's horrible. Ever since there was a huge pile-up several years ago that resulted in multiple deaths, WYDOT closes it quite frequently. That section around Rawlins and Elk Mountain is especially hazardous. Not only was that ice, that was black ice. Traveling through here it's best to have a survival kit of some kind in the winter. People tend to forget there's a lot of empty space between towns here.
I live and work in Jackson without leaving town much in the winter. I still have a survival kit in my car. Just in case.
How can I get to california from Minnesota avoiding i80 and denver?
My Dad was an OTR for over 45yrs. He drove For Chemical Leaman in NJ and S&J Trucking in NJ AND He than became Owner/Operator and started driving for FEDEX just before he passes away November 18, 2021. Be Safe, My Friend!!!!
I’am a truck driver from New Zealand i’m not gloating or anything but I’m thankful that it’s summertime here and not winter time.
Wyoming resident CDL A tanker hazmat oilfield driver here, some call I-80 the highway to heaven cuz its so dangerous. I work around Casper and the wyoming weather is nothing to take lightly. We chain up cowboy up saddle up and get er done, but sometimes roads close, visibility is zero and you gotta do what you gotta do to get home safe. Wyoming is not for the faint of heart. Take your time and chain up.
Glad you, Dakota and BKM are staying safe out on the roads! We absolutely need to be kind to others around us! Not just on the road but in every day life too! Great video!
Drove eastbound on I-80 across the Red Desert in January 1975 the road was solid ice with blizzard conditions. Drove 10 or 15 mph with wheel turned to the left. There were semis in the median that hardly broke through the snow. I was used to winter driving but that was a real thrill!
Hang in there and keep the greasy side down!
@Hi Moonshiner how are you doing

Yep. I drive I-80 across Wyoming once a week in a 6500 crane truck. Been doing it for years. You haven't lived until you've spent a night in your truck in Wamsutter. The stretch between Walcott and Laramie is nicknamed Sno-Chi-Minh Trail after the famed roadway used by North Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam war. Bad for blow-overs too.
Ha that's funny. Sno Chi Minh Trail
I've been at this since 1973. There are rookies that are pretty good drivers. And there are vets that rant very good
I was south of Pittsburgh heading down to West Virginia one night in a snowstorm during my rookie winter and we all got stuck climbing a hill (trucks and 4 wheelers alike). I tried to keep climbing and the drives started spinning out, jack knifing the trailer toward the flat bed next to me. We all sat there for about two hours and the heat from the truck ended up melting off enough snow and ice beneath the truck that I was able to get traction and start moving again. I climbed the hill and the lights of an exit three miles or so never looked so inviting. Took the exit and parked in a grocery store parking lot for the night. I was so relieved to be shut down for the night! That experience left an indelible impression, for sure!
Wow! Thank you for sharing. We could honestly benefit so much from hearing different winter stories.
One more quick note/lesson learned. About an hour before I got stuck on the hill, I'd stopped at a rest area to replace my windshield wipers because they were no longer keeping up with the snow. I thought to myself at the time, "self...it's starting to snow pretty hard. Maybe you should just shut down here for the night." Did I listen? Nooo, of course not. My ego wrote a check that my skill set could not cash and I kept plugging away. Lesson learned: I no longer ignore that inner voice.
@Hi Freight how are you doing
I-80 is somewhere I refuse to run in the winter. Snow & ice is NO JOKE! This being my second winter; first OTR I always have extra blankets, water, dry food in case I get stranded or am unable to run because of conditions, a little portable heater, and extra layers of clothes. Be safe out there!!
60mph wind around elk mountain sucks with a light load....
So who is supposed to run I-80? The men. Does this fall under the heading of equality and equal pay? I ran I-80 for twenty years starting out of Salt Lake City. And yes even in my rookie years I ran the winter snows of Wyoming. If you can't run with the big dogs stay on the porch.

Shelby when I use to run through Wyoming I'd carry a few bags of kitty litter it works wonders.
In one of Shelby's earlier videos she said that she doesn't like to use kitty litter because it becomes mushy IIRC and leaves a mess that is worse for other drivers to drive through.
A new set of triangles is cheaper than a life. Stay safe.
Glad to hear you're a proponent of RainX, I have used it for years probably before you're parents drove. Great product and it promotes safety in visibility.
I put it on religiously specially on my mirrors and windows, it works so good when you are backing up in the rain

Like to keep some Ice Melt salt in my truck at all time for frozen road conditions, plus chains no matter what. Always a pleasure to see your travels. Keep on truckin
I was headed East on I-80 and saw the backed up traffic it went for miles. Trucking in Wyoming in winter is honestly nightmare fuel. I have to take I-80 twice a week and in the winter it’s never easy. Glad you safe
Hey there as a fellow truck driver I really can appreciate what you go through out there and I really enjoy your videos
I was with my than husband, twenty years ago, an apprentice truck driver (BTrain) and we would spend most of our time in the U.S starting from Quebec, Canada. Thank God that he had more than 30 years of experience as a truck driver! Those years spend on the road, I have seen things I never thought I would. Not all bad of course, but the world of trucking is a unique one for sure. I saw way too many tragic accidents in very bad conditions, I met wonderful people at truck stops during the Holidays where it was the most difficult for the most of them being so far away from their families. I saw very bad truckers who should never come close to moving véhicules and just stick to walking and met the most courageous, helpful, inventive people who will never get the recognition they deserve. I miss it! Never thought I would say this, but I do. Thanks for all your hard work. You are all amazing! p.s. I also remember a huge ice storm in the middle of the night where trucks were in the ditch every 2 miles. It was extremely scary since the road was on an angle. we were trying to take the next ramp and it was an excruciating experience. But the worse was being stuck in the tale of a huge tornado, parked at the customers’s place, thinking we might not make it out. The truck was moving right to left and everything in it flew every where. So for all those of you who are still trucking…God bless!
Stay safe out there Shelby.
Good to see you again.

Always hated Wyoming on I-80 in the winter. Sun shining, wind and snow blowing can't see NOTHIN. I sometimes try to use a bit of the edge of the road (like the yellow line) rumple strips for a bit more traction on ice. Sometimes no matter what you do the safest thing is to just get it off the road to a safe location and wait it out. Congrats to the CB winner. Enjoy! Stay safe my friends.
Chain up, if you aren’t willing to chain, park till the morning 🤷♂️ as somebody who drives in BC Canada take my advice, TC off, lockers and keep your RPMs low on ice
From one Drybar to another just remember that Freight is not worth your life if the roads get too bad don’t be afraid to call it quits I’ve been out here on the road for 10 years now and I’ve had my very very scary close calls I will always pull over for safety great video Shelby stay super safe out there
@Hi Bearded how are you doing
People can be a holes while driving in the snow. Everyone has families to go to. Be considerate and have sympathy for one another!
What can I add, stay safe and do your best, don't risk for nothing and always remember there's someone who cares about you waiting for you in home,so....just be back safe and sound.Clear and safe roads for you guys.
BEEN THERE DONE THAT, SPENT 50 YEARS TRAVELING IN ALL 48 STATES AND SOME OF CANADA, LOVED TRUCKING.
The only thing that matters is nobody got hurt and you all made it out of there. You both are great drivers it's just horrible conditions. Be safe you two!
Of course, we liked the video, Shelby! Good to see you guys are safe and sound!
They’re on the shoulder because that’s where the traction is.
Glad you both are ok. But this is great entertainment and nobody got hurt. I’m from New England. Boston area. Kind of used to this.
I agree with the "cold windshield" theory. I do it quite often. One difference, if you start out with a clear windshield, it will stay clear without any help from from the defroster (either hot or cold) just from moving through the cold air. To keep the cab warm, either use the dash or floor vents for interior warmth. .
You are providing a great service with your informative videos and there are some very good comments and suggestions below. I always carried several bags of sand ( spread on drive tires if stopped ) and of course drove extra slow, did not matter how many "super -tuckers" sped passed me.
In Norway truckers often have to drive in guidet convoys over the mountain passes, and the weather here is a lot rougher than in wyoming with temperatures down to 20 minus celsius and snow thats not going away for months. The main rule is to be wll prepaired and always wear warm clothing due to the fact that the heaters is blowing icy cold air on the front window. If not you would not be able to see anything afyer just some minutes and stopping not allowed.
@Hi Martin how are you doing
Reminds me so much of why I got off the road in 2002 and been driving local ever since.
Yep, same here🤑
Try hitting the rumble strips so you don’t come to a stop and block and interstate lane. Troopers hate anyone blocking the interstate. Cheers!
Just found your channel not too long ago. I have the utmost respect for you. You are a hard worker & earned your way in the trucking world! Safe travels to you. Conditions don't get any worse than black ice!
Blinding fog can be real bad too if not equal to black ice..
She's doing great!
Such a sweet happy soul. A joy to watch
Great videos shelby, keep up the good work. That brings back memories. I ran rocky sets for OD for years up there in conditions like that many times. Ive been on solid ice like that a few times. Chains got me out of it every time. Single chains on the drives. A single on one side of the lead trl. A single on the con gear and a single on the rear trl. Sure footed as a mountain goat. Try it if you need to move across that ice again. Guys will tell you chains don't work on that... that's a lie... I've done it.. it works.
I love how positive you are, patient and cautions you are.
Two words: "Auto Chains"
No no wait... Three words: "Shiny Road Bad"
So I'm taking a drink of my coffee when I read this now im cleaning up coffee. 🤣
Some person is right.
Ya! shiny road bad 😉
I think your dog is the boss LOL... Your wrong about people not knowing how to drive in snow and ice. At least 30+ percent of the drivers out here have never seen snow or ice or haven't ever drivin any vehicle on snow or ice.... They have no clue what to do or how to do it... Yes I'm from Wyoming and yes I've been doing this for 20 years... I don't know everything but I am aware of what is happening and what is changing. I thank you for putting this video out and for your tips.... If snow and ice are building up you can slow down even more put your sun visor down to were they are almost touching the glass and put your defrost on n high. Make sure your curtain is closed so to make the cab smaller... It works. If you get to hot crack open the windows a little til you cool off then close up again... Thanks for sharing... Much love. Stay healthy and safe... Wyoming is beautiful if you relax and open up to wilderness...
Dakota seemed scared of the guy trying to pass you spinning on ice. Love how u have Dakota with you in the truck.
@Andrew Great video, How are you doing
Hope we get to know each other with time and patience?
Lady, Wyoming doesn’t use salt. Sand/gravel is what gets spread on Wyoming roads.
There are a number of reasons for that, primary being the extremely cold temps that can occur in WY. Past a certain point salt doesn’t work.
I have never seen a major highway iced over like that. If there wasn't a video of it, along with how crazy other drivers were being and the whiteout conditions early on, I don't know if I would have believed it! You did a great job handling those completely unexpected conditions! Don't pay any attention to the hate! My uncle used to be a truck driver in Wyoming and Colorado. I'll have to ask him if he ever encountered anything like that.
It's pretty normal for Wyoming
Spent 6 years over the road before going local and Wyoming has thrown everything at me that has puckered my butt up to include 80+ mph wind gusts. Never had an accident though. I miss OTR sometimes though. Keep it safe and keep up the videos
When I was otr, I wouldn’t drive through anything more than a light snow. I didn’t drive at night if temperatures were close enough to freezing for black ice to be a possibility. I didn’t drive through extremely high winds. It’s simply not worth it. I’m running a local overnight route for recycling now. It doesn’t snow here but flooding, winds, hurricanes are common. If I see water in the road I’ll skip and come back. I don’t work through hurricanes and I don’t dump in high winds. When I used to do otr long haul, I would shut down at the beginning of a snow/ice storm so I wouldn’t have to fight for parking later. I’ve seen storms move in so quickly out west that the DOT didn’t even have time to treat the roads properly and they’d be covered within minutes to an hour, impassable after a while. Where I live, hurricanes can move in extremely fast and I don’t like to get caught up mid route in those winds or even tropical storms. Last winter I missed a tornado by minutes at one of my stops. After I left the school, a tornado cut through and tossed cars all over the parking lot like toys.
No.
I've been behind the wheel for 32 years now. Heat on my feet and keep the windshield cold, works for me!
I use to drive across Wyoming and Nebraska on I80 back when I was in college. I don't miss that drive during Winter weather at all. Had a few bad situations, including one rollover accident. Ya never know what will happen down the road of life, but it's always interesting!
I live in Cheyenne Wy and i80 and i25 are absolutely terrrrible in the in the winter, the wind makes it even worse. It’s so scary but I hope you stay safe this winter!
Is it the snow or wind ❓❓❓
@@JMAC-rs6ey YES
I was in a storm that bad once in Ohio. We passed a semi early in. I was watching the grass in the median for my lines. When we got out of it, that same truck was in front of us. I have no idea how he passed me, but he did. Craziest night of my life.
I'd rather get kicked in nuts then go through Wyoming in the winter

Being from Wyoming and in the process of getting my CDL this has been great video. I-80 is basically known as the death zone around here!
Give away idea ----- how about one of those "Happiness by the Mile" hats ? Winter is coming, I would love one. Take care and be safe!
Thank you for driving slowly because you don’t know what smaller cars are out there and being around semis in that kind of weather is terrifying. I live in CO and have driven through many storms like this and the truckers that continue going fast and passing without regard for the weather and don’t chain you cause horrific accidents.
I've been there in WY even in May when there was so much snow the road was shut down.
Another great video. You're totally right it's not that people can't drive it's the weather conditions.
Slow down when the conditions deteriorate I hear it all the time on the police radio and it's simply because people are not driving for the conditions.
They always say carry a bag of sand or cat litter to put under your tires for traction. Beautiful country Wyoming.
fast drivers are bad for these weather conditions BUT so are overly slow drivers. And unprepared drivers too.
One of the most dangerous roads in the country. FYI , the railroad stopped sending passenger trains across Wyoming because they were getting blown off the tracks by the high winds.
White-outs, black ice , high wind and sub zero cold. It’s not a good time and it usually means down time. Shut-down, breakdown, fall down. I sat for two days and nites in Little America with the highway closed. But we all survived and watched a lot of movies, too.

Yeah, but I drove an Eagle- a wanna be Pete!
It was a good truck tho. I really liked driving Rt. 30. It made the trip more interesting.

Yeah, I know what you mean , the Freight shaker is more driver friendly in many ways.
But I liked the visibility in a KW 600
Shelby, you should do a "Favorite Truck Stop" on your dedicated route video.
Also Why it's your fav.
How long is your new ded-route.
Climbing the "Blue Mountains".
I have lived in Wyoming my whole life. We have had snow as late as July 26th...one year we got 12 inches of snow on that day. I drove truck before I retired in 2001. One thing all those "Super Truckers" out there also need to remember is that if the sign above the interstate says "NO LIGHT TRAILERS" that means DON'T TRY TO DRIVE IT!! Elk Mountain pass on I-80 gets gusts of wind over 100 mph all the time. If you are hauling load of toilet paper your truck is going to be taking a nap.
This old guy have right, cold winshield is the best in the wintertime...
Always great to see your smiling face. You brighten my day. God bless you. Stay safe & be careful.
I had to commute between Cheyenne and Laramie on I-80 every day for school and it got so sketchy in the winter. I'd just hope for the best and follow behind truckers since y'all always lead the way, so I appreciate you!
@JAG Fort Collins doesn’t care about the trucks. I always did it, just stay on the truck route thru town and you’re not bothered. Sometimes that 287 and 14 can be just as bad.
Most important thing is to stay calm in the worse situations and work together , hot tempered people tend to cause the accidents , remember it’s all a learning process to achieve one goal, get there safely 🙏🏻
PSA: Shelby did not make the decision to drive through this. I did. So if y’all want to be angry with someone. Be angry with me 😎✌🏼
In case anyone is wondering. There was no chain law, no one else was chained, and we could not chain because it was not safe to do so. Just wanted to get that out of the way.
Also, I was in the left lane because of the Jack knifed truck. We are not stupid. We’ve had 4 years of experience driving in winter conditions in the west coast.
It's all good BKM. You all got through it safely. Stuff happens and you worked through it. I've driven that stretch of I-80 before, but it was in the middle of May.
@@psmile1 we do it regular and have been for 4 years so idk why people keep saying we need more experience lol sometimes stuff just happens. We didn’t crash and we didn’t cause anyone else to crash so I don’t see what the big deal is.
@@snek9353 Yes we do know that. Chains are very expensive to be buying just to break them because your using them without snow packed roads though.
@@snek9353 we only got stuck bcuz of traffic from the Jack knife. So technically it wasn’t my fault. Other drivers driving too fast for conditions and crashing causing slow traffic to make me stall out on ice isn’t my fault. I didn’t need chains until that happened.
Everyone likes to criticize when just last week I passed at least 20 flipped trucks on I-80 from wind, 7 Jack knifed trucks on I-80 from ice, and 6 damaged trucks from a snow storm on I-70. We are not the problem, and we are extremely capable of doing our jobs safely. More so than most drivers. I think people forget the fact that Shelby is extremely intelligent with a bachelors degree from a major college, and I’m an ex-cop that excels in anything that I do. We have this trucking thing under control lol. Not saying we know everything, because we definitely don’t, but we aren’t the ones crashing and causing issues for everyone else.
Watch Riding Shotgun's channel for a driver with real snow driving experience. Mountain Mike is the best I've ever seen.
I live in Ontario Canada and Hwy 401 always has a punch of wrecks as soon as it snows. Most people don't slow down dependent of road conditions. If you see that someone is in the ditch it's time to evaluate the conditions if you haven't already done so. If the shoulder has snow on it you might get better traction driving out of the groove by putting a set of tires on the snow. Snow covered lane is better than icy lane when the weather is cold as long as the snow is not too deep. Slush is worse than ice.
My friend said when you start hitting snow use the Jake brake to gain traction, the vibration conforms to the road.
I learned this the hard way but it’s a god saver during winter that right lane warning ridges ride them lmao it helped me keep moving in the winter
Operation buy Shelby new triangles for Christmas 😂
U can find some off the road sometimes or get one off a truck that’s flipped over 🤣

The funny thing is I've been at it 40+ years and is fun watching her love her job, I do too. We have lots in common except I could be her mom 😁
I do enjoy her videos, even under pressure she's "Happy"
Great attitude!
Haven’t seen snow for more than 2 years. To be honest I don’t miss it, especially on the roads
I started driving in 1988.. What has worked for me in the winter as far as the windshield staying clear is you don't have to have it cold, but you do have to have it cool, and also just barely crack both side windows. I've also poured a little rubbing alcohol into my windshield wiper fluid reservoir to keep the holes from icing up.
Those criticizing: Remember there are many ways to be a good driver. I guess that is why most people think they are better than the average.
Also: Even the best driver can be unlucky.
Congratulations Tigerlilly, i love these videos, i drove for 20+ years before becoming disabled and videos like yours fill the void of not driving for me cause dam i miss the road so much, keep the good stuff comin, stay safe out there.
Those who complain nobody can drive are also drivers that need to rethink their own skills/habits.
That means they are the ones still on the road, not spun out on a hill and not over in the ditch. Ever since automatic trucks started showing up any idiot can get their CDL which means no one can drive. It's not just conditions, its mostly idiots that don't understand smoothness, throttle control, momentum and get stuck while other drivers are passing them on both sides.
@@bobm9307yes, it's called EXPERIENCE but even then, things can go sideways
I remember those days living in Wyoming . Driving from Cheyenne to Laramie in the snow going 10 miles an hour. THis was after we left Cheyenne with no snow at all. FUn times for sure. I miss Wyoming.
Wonder what dispatchers think when they're at home warm and safe when their drivers are out driving in crappy ass weather?
They are thinking about the next load and how much that 18% is going to add to their bank accounts!
Seriously They ain’t thinking about you that’s for sure
They don’t care. Especially when they’re at home
Lol I love the comments you added for your dog. Too funny! 😅
@Doug Great video, How are you doing

As long as drivers aren't speeding I do my best to facilitate them passing if I'm traveling below the speed limit, different folks have different comfort zones due to years behind the wheel, local knowledge, and where they are from as there's a huge difference between Georgia trucks and Canadian trucks operating requirements.....if you had chains and you didn't put them on is probably why the troopers were angry just saying, my advice to the novice drivers is to wait until the storm clears before they attempt treacherous areas , sadly there are a lot of impatient people out there ,the best thing to do is ignore them which takes away their power, I80 is nothing compared to the trans Canada lol....
Awesome for the UA-camrs giving back to its fans and followers.

Ohhhhh man SHE IS BACK🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️❤️❤️
Wow, that was crazy! Next video looked even crazier. Can't wait for that to come out.
hey jj nice to see you on here always watch you on your channel shelby and dakota are awesome!
We just went through about 180 miles of winter storm in eastern Oregon but in a front wheel drive 4 wheeler this time and people just don't get it! I've driven trucks and cars quite a bit in these conditions and some of it is skill and some of it is your vehicle and how it is loaded as well as your equipment. At times, a Little speed is your friend, but not always! Be careful and aware of others around you at all times because you are truly all in it together. Winter time- happy motoring.
I lived in Pendleton and would have to go up cabbage and go to Ontario all the time. People don’t get that sometimes you do need a little speed and slow down. Just lack of knowledge on a lot of things.
@@jamesphelps9573 I totally am in agreement. We almost didn't even make it to La Grande and then were stuck there until they got the road open over cabbage. Then Snoqualmie Pass was closed in Washington. Winter driving can be a real challenge for sure. Stay safe.
@Hi Tom how are you doing
Sweet CB !! I am glad I found your channel because you are truly inspiring to everyone ❤
Shelby here is a tip for you, on de-icing the window of your truck and helping to keep it clear. Lemon juice will melt ice, granted it is a bit harsh but it will work to melt ice. Second thing, take an onion and cut it in half, then rub it on the window to help keep it from icing back up. Now that is not a perfect solution, but it will help and should last long enough to get you to some place where you can put RainX on the windows. Now this was told to me by my old science teacher, and it does work oddly. So keep a bottle of lemon juice in the truck, and a couple of onions just for such situations, you will have to reapply the onion from time to time but it does help.
👍
AS a veteran of 20 plus years on the Dalton I can recommend straight methanol mixed 25% in your washer fluid. Stay safe!!
Started watching your videos yesterday and cannot get enough now I have watched like 10+ why is it so addicting , keep the content rolling
Best advice i ever got.... NEVER, EVER put chains on to do anything but GET TO THE NEAREST PLACE TO PARK!!!!
@Stew Great video, How are you doing
Hope we get to know each other with time and patience?
Nice videos of I-25 /i-80 during bad weather. Shows the struggle of being a truck driver thru bad weather. What surprises me more is that almost no trucks seems to have light above their windshield giving light ahead and above the weather like most trucks do in Scandinavia, especially those driving far up north. The struggle with chain is real and scary especially when doing it in the traffic.
Well hope you stay safe and keep safe driving those roads. Thanks for sharing your story 🙏🏻👍🏼
Welcome to Wyoming, where it is winter 14 months a year! Winters suck in Wyoming, everytime.
I don’t remember seeing a lot of grass my time in Lander.
Carry at least one 3 wick candle with you. If you get stuck it will keep your cab above freezing. Carry at least one gallon of water per person, per day in the tractor( this includes pets). Develop a system to allow for waste care. I carry a 5 gallon bucket with lid, trash bags, kitty litter, & a toilet seat. Granola bars, trail mix,
We all need to treat everyone better! I subbed
Hope you Have a good week Shelby and Dakota. Stay Safe ...
