This was the most important test for this car & thanks to you for doing this. Unlike testing for just 100kms & showing us the vague results - you drove the car until it ran out of fuel. The Hybrid variant (battery) of Maruti Grand Vitara gave 27.84 mileage in real world covering 1253 kms distance on a single tank (45 litres) from Udaipur to Gurgaon. Company claimed 27.97 km/l & it gave 27.84 km/l. Running a car for 1253 kms on a single tank of fuel is itself a record!!! Right now the Hybrid cars are most suitable for India because of the lack of charging infrastructure. If a company claims that an EV is going to give a range of 500kms - in real world scenario it is only going to give 300-350kms range which is very less. Also it takes almost 30mins for an EV to be fully charged. I think people buying an EV are going to spend majority of their time charging their vehicle. Hybrid is the king of mileage test!!!
@Lashiv b you don't know the concept of Strong Hybrid, it gives even better mileage in City drive... Don't apply the logic of only Diesel or Petrol engine here
Hats off to the entire crew for making such a great review video. By far this is the best review I have seen among all media houses. They have literally stress tested the car to its limits. I bought Grand Vitara Delta Smart Hybrid. I have drive 26 kms at Noida-Greater Expressway and got 24 kms at a speed of 71 kms but combined driving in Delhi city etc average speed is apx 19 kms against company's claim of 21 kms.....I got mileage of 1200 kms with twice fueling of total 44 ltrs and 27 ltrs....mixed driving..ciyi and Expressway..In my view it is very good.....buy for Rs.16 lacs apx automatic...Delta variant grand vitara.....

Hybrids are the way to go!! No charging, no range anxiety, no breakdown worries. Government should cut down tax on Hybrids to promote more people to buy it
You are getting 28kmpl mileage and spending 6lacs extra on hybrid car from normal petrol car . Same car with 1.5 liter petrol engine can give aprox 20 kmpl on same conditions. For some extra 8kmpl mileage its not worth to spend 6 lacs extra on it. Means you are spending 3.5 rs per km on hyrbid car and aprox 6rs per km on non hybrid petrol car. If you run 150000 lacs km in 5 years. You can save 150000 lac x 2.5 rs 375000 rs aprox. But loose on fixed deposit interest on 6 lacs rs @ 7 % pa i.e 42000 rs pa x 5 years = 210000 rs. And further if we do the compounding on 210000 rs interest the amount will be even more than 2.1 lacs it comes aprox to 2.75 lacs
Buddy ... Hybrids and EV's doesn't make sense when driven on Highways but in city they are game changer. Commuting at peak hours in bumper to bumper traffic of metro cities is a nightmare of a Petrol car. No car would deliver more than 12-13 kmpl in such conditions. Now do your calculations on this basis.
I get 35 in city. Just a little gentle with throttle. Some times for 5-10 mins the average even shoots to 40. I have proofs and images aswell. This car is really awesome.

Just got a hyryder last week and filled the tank to autocut. Till now drove around 345 kms approx and fuel only one point went down. Thinking it will touch 1200 kms without refuel. And if its goes the way it is before any service then it might be a game changer where the fuel price is so high. Will update once it reach the end point of fuel

1250 km per 4445 rs toh 12000 km per 44450 or 100000km per 400000rs my ertiga has been driven for around 62000km and I have spent 3.14 lac on diesel so with 80000rs diesel I think I can drive around 78000 km . I think cng car are most effective if someone is looking for mileage car .

21Lakh on Road= Zeta+ (Strong Hybrid) 15Lakh on Road= Zeta (Mild Hybrid) 45Litre on Strong Hybrid = 1000KM (Approximate) 45Litre on Mild Hybrid = 600KM (Approximate) Is it worth investing 6L extra on strong hybrid or is it worth if i keep that 6L in FD and buy mild hybrid which inturn i think will give decent returns which compensates the strong hybrid mileage. Also in case of strong hybrid after around 8 years should i invest around 6L+ on new battery?? Where as incase of Mild Hybrid, i would have saved 6L initial and also would not require to invest 6L on extra upgradation after 8 years. Please let me know if my calculation is correct?
3 Problems 1. Mileage in Hybrid is 1200 kms 2. Saving on Fuel will be Rs 1.2 lac PA Difference recovered in 5 years approx. 3. Battery life in Hybrid is 12 to15 year as per international users whereas battery of mild hybrid will need replacement in 6 years. Make your choice.

I drove the car for 20-21 hours, taken 4-5 hours rest during the trip. Started the test at 6:30 PM, finished at 8:30 PM next day. 1300km/20 hours = 65 kmph atleast

Appreciate your patience and efforts. But you can ask any ford customer the max mileage claimed in their 1.5tdci engines. .... I have claimed 29.1kmpl 70-80kmph speed with 2 passengers and no luggage. 33ps air in all 4 tyres. Ac at 22degrees. Distance travelled 550kms . (Tank full method) Few customers claimed 32kmpl also. So basically it is the driving characteristics that help in claiming better fuel economy.

My tata Tiago petrol gives a mileage of about 20+kmpl in normal city traffic conditions. Hats off to Mr. Tata. Your video was 👍 and I am waiting for city mileage test of hybrid.
Just need to make one thing clear when Comapnies say tank capacity is 45 litre that means it's 45+(~8-10) ltrs. As manufacturers used to leave space in fuel tank for safety purpose. So when we go for full tank we are actually filling till brink more than the capacity.

But price of Hybrid is higher than normal ICE car. In that extra couple of lakhs you can buy fuel for many thousand kms

Average Speed - 65 KMPH is the issue on the modern highway's no one is going to drive anytime below 90 KM/H I think we can still get around 20Kmpl

As batteries and electric motor technologies get cheaper, I can imagine a small hatchback with a small turbo engine and hybrid technology becoming a game changer !

I drove the car for 20-21 hours, taken 4-5 hours rest during the trip. Started the test at 6:30 PM, finished at 8:30 PM next day. 1300km/20 hours = 65 kmph atleast

Appreciate your patience and efforts. But you can ask any ford customer the max mileage claimed in their 1.5tdci engines. .... I have claimed 29.1kmpl 70-80kmph speed with 2 passengers and no luggage. 33ps air in all 4 tyres.
Ac at 22degrees. Distance travelled 550kms . (Tank full method)
Few customers claimed 32kmpl also.
So basically it is the driving characteristics that help in claiming better fuel economy.

Just need to make one thing clear when Comapnies say tank capacity is 45 litre that means it's 45+(~8-10) ltrs.
As manufacturers used to leave space in fuel tank for safety purpose.
So when we go for full tank we are actually filling till brink more than the capacity.
