- Taking on the challenge and danger of the 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Porsche 917K in a multiclass 40 minute 24 hour simulation in Project CARS 2.
Thanks to the Spirit of Le Mans DLC for Project CARS 2 this is about as authentic as you can get with the epic prototype battle between Porsche and Ferrari takes place at 220 MPH!

that was great, I'm in my 70s now, I use to play racing games with my son when he was young now in his 30s, I've still got the old Sega dream cast Le Mans game one of the best for it's time. I use to race bike's in the day, to old now, but watching you race the old 70s Le Mans cars make's me wont to get back in to the driving games, great fun, thanks
How freaking gorgeous is this track.. just got the season pass and I'm amazed by how good this track is!!
This and the 1980's were Endurance racing's best eras for me, the cars looked the business as well as pushed racing to the limits. Great choice of car btw, that for me is one of the most beautiful looking racing cars ever built.
David, I have to say, You simply have the talent to bring Project cars 2 into the focus like no other! Transporting your knowledge about motoracing and your enthusiasm to your audience in a inimitable manner! Hatts off, Man, I have to learn from this!! :)

Its been almost a year since Project Cars 2 released and I still play this just about every day. The level of immersion, choice of tracks and cars is incredible. Its a true masterpiece with standard features that are on many other sim "wish lists".
I been saying this for a while, David, you should probably invest in the Xbox One X. With that you could run larger fields w/o the wheel issues you continue to have and it may even prevent the freeze (lag?) you experienced. Love these videos!

Just got my Project cars 2 with all the DLC's. Great stuff. Just one Question, in doing free play are the cars Track Specific? And how do you choose different liveries when you select the model car you want?
@@JuergenGDB just no other cars at kart tracks, other than that you can race car on any track
@@Ryeblue I've tried that before, LMP1 left them to dust haha I think they're ahead than GTE class because of top speed and less drag.
This makes me want to become a gamer, very cool to see this era of Le Mans come to life. And it'd be great if they made something like NASCAR at Riverside in the late '60s so we could run the wheels off a Mercury like Gurney.

Factual info: Prototypes were 40-60 seconds quicker than the best GT cars on one lap. Very good video.

This kind of thing is what I love about sim racing. I did a Group 6, 5, and 4 multiclass race at Vintage Le Mans, and it's so awesome when everyone scrambles in the pits to change to wets while you're frantically looking for your pit crew amongst the crowd. Much like real life, the Group 5 935 is massively OP at Le Mans and can hang with Group 6 cars in some sections.

Isn't it rather dangerous to have Sport Cars like Mustangs and Corvettes racing alongside a supreme race car such as THE Legendary PORSCHE 917? Countless times I've seen slower cars causing fatal collisions. Haven't you?
I love that SWAY of the 917 going around corners. It's like a slot car glued to the road. It's pretty scary to watch. They come so close to the edge. And it's so exciting to watch a fleet of 917s racing each other flat out. You'd have to be an adrenaline freak to race them. But hey, at least its CONTROLLED MADNESS!

I think it might only be an issue with the base XBox. I don't have a base PS4 but I have not heard about issues with not being able to run 32 A.I. My PS4 Pro has no issues certainly and I doubt XOX does either. So does David have a base Xbox?

I've got this and I'm not impressed in relation to the fact that I get to chose from 4 cars only, maybe I'm doing something wrong but if not then what's the point of including the Bentley Speed 8 and the only race I can use it in is the practice track version a total waste of money is this!
27:20 The game is as close to a sim as you can get on console. Only issue for me is you either NEED to know how to make a decent setup, or you need to have a friend that knows how to make a decent setup. Also, to all those people that say assetto corsa is the best sim on console, please explain to me how NASCAR Heat Evolution and NASCAR Heat 2 both have better driving physics...

Hello m8 im a subscriber and rate your show + tells, but I really liked the look of your set up. Please can you let me know your fov settings as their some of the best I've seen. Please reply as I need that 'something' within my fov settings. Id really appreciate it.
Stephen Wyatt FOV is somthing you set based on how far away you are from your screen to give you the correct sense of speed. A UA-camr Empty Box has a great video about FOV.
nivracer thanx 4 the reply, really thanx. I have had my fov set perfect, a bit of accel' +decel' camera physics but yesterday I thought I could tweek it even more and now I've screwed it up a bit. I like to get as realistic as poss' , I just thought id like a good bassline to work from. But appreciate your reply. Happy trails m8.

You think that's bad spray? The codemasters f1 games make you literally blind. All you can see is the flashing red light on the car in front. Crazy stuff. I want PC2 so bad though. Gotta save up for an xbone first lol.

What do you have your AI aggression set too just out of interest?

I've done a lot of experimenting, and I'm more-or-less settled with 80 aggression which makes the AI a bit faster and more willing to overtake (and doesn't really make them any more careless contrary to rumors - certainly not Raceroom levels,) and that allows me more freedom to play with the strength setting.

I assume you say sirkweet de la sarthe to sound french, but it should be pronounced sir kee de la sarthe.

I'm from England and some of the stuff stuff u say on here i cant understand yet ur a country that can't even turn a corner give u some advice read up on European race tracks first ! and learn how to say it !!
