@@Daimo83 And available to buy from GOG DRM-free if you wanna play it yourself. They got a sale on that today as well as a bunch of other classic Trek games.
I remember this game. Played all the way through it a few times. Very strange story, Romulan wants to become a god or something by reviving and then merging with an alien seed that is also somehow his progenitor who left warnings encoded within the Romulan species DNA. And of course, immediately after killing him and saving the day, everyone just ended up at the poker table like nothing happened. Just another normal day in Starfleet.
''Hey now i was told this was the GoG version, there aint suppose to be no Steam'' I dont know why but that quip is very charming to me Besides that its always kind of amazing how many Star Trek games there are sometimes, the funny part being i think in comparison to star wars they are more varied in their genres Also RIP bug boy, he just wanted some batteries
The game is a wee bit short, a bit rough but storywise, does kinda fit into a trek episode. Ensign actually helps out, survives, gets promoted to Lt JG at the end. It's basically TNG's Lower Decks but without 99% of the sadness.
There a book that came out in 2010 called “Night of the Living Trekkies”. The book takes place during a Star Trek convention in Texas at the beginning of a Zombie outbreak. Awesome and hilarious book
First 25 seconds of this video prompts the question- didn’t a whole series of games in the survival horror genre rip off the tank controls, camera angles, puzzle solving, etc from the success of RE?
11:25 It sucks when we're forced to play as a member of Starfleet who attended Starfleet Academy during one of the periods when computer hacking electives weren't being offered.
10:18 maybe he meant elimination/sleeping breaks a human would take. Still, the auto-nav on shuttlecraft can handle most of it; maybe Data could pull more efficient moves at higher speeds without passing out.
I remember reading a review of this game alongside a review for Gabriel Knight 3 in some gaming magazine way back when. I'd forgotten until now exactly what the game was, aside from it being Star Trek and the gameplay style. The only other specific thing I recall is that it got a poor score.
It could have had potential but since the og Resident Evil games were all the rage back in the 90s it seemed like the only thing to do was make like the company/ies that did them up. Granted this Star Trek version of the classic Resident Evil games tried to do their version of Capcom's game but they just couldn't work it out. Hell, there's even a Resident Evil esque X Files game and they too couldn't get it right
@@BenKii yea, it's too bad that the game adaptations of franchises didn't get the hype that others did cause I'm thinking another X Files game that would have Resident Evil 4's gameplay

I always had a soft spot for this shit game. Really enjoyed it, actually. Insurrection is my favourite Trek film. Yes really. Really! Never made a Resident Evil / Hidden Evil connection before.
6:07 okay, so I actually know what dehydrated water is and it's actually a good idea it's a barrel filled with nothing but hydrogen. If you're on a planet with oxygen you just open it and you have instant water. No risk of stagnation, light weight, portable, and if you condense the hydrogen you could probably fill a pool with a barrel
Probably the only Trek game I forgot existed until today.

Every problem in Star Trek seems to be solved by ejecting the warp core. Those things seem to just grow on trees
@@TheBlackHawke42 I wonder what they'd do if they encounter another problem after the core's been ejected? 🤨
Stardate 192291. The Enterprise is in orbit over planet Gumboght, where the famed warp core forest is ready for harvest.

Data may not be able to make the shuttle go faster, but he can pull off sick drifts with TAS-like precision, that’s how he saves those 4.8 minutes.

LOL. The game developers must have saved some money on the box art by using a reversed image of Patrick Stewart's face.
