For the boondocking site...you said you reserved a site, but then when you arrived you didn't have a site and you just take any available site? So the reservation simply ensures a site, but not which site?
Yes, exactly! You’re really just reserving a “permit” but the individual sites are first, come, first serve. They just limit how many permits they issue at a time so there aren’t too many people there. I also forgot to ever get into the specifics of reserving the site lol 😅 but we have a detailed tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/NAAodSZNWwo/v-deo.html
Camp Margaritaville is nice, but over $100 a nite, noooooo thanx!!! I’d rather spend $180 for 6 months boondocking in SW Arizona at the LTVA’s bouncing around between the “Q” and Imperial Dam. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets and much more freedom and autonomy, and not being beholding to the outrageous RV resort price gouging. Just my 2 cent contribution guys. 👍😃🍻
Hey guys. My husband and I hope to go full time soon. I do need you to listen. I can jot stress this enough. If you want to lose a few pounds, stop drinking soda. Diet's increase your chances of having a heart attack by 43% versus drinking regular pop. Also the human body recognizes real sugar, not the fake sugars in diet pops. When using man made sweeteners the thyroid is in total confusion. I hope this helps!!! We can not wait to meet you out there somewhere!!!
This is very true, I quit sodas altogether and since I like fizzy drinks I drink sparkling water with meals. I stopped eating chocolate and started playing waay more tennis. Going FT the only thing I’m going to miss is being able to play tennis at least three times a week.
Gee, I had a quad bypass 23 years ago, drink two liters of diet caff' free soda every day and still haven't had a single issue. So many people with so many theories...
I've been boondocking for 16 months around Utah. I really prefer the quiet open areas vs campsites. It's not cheap by any means, even when boondocking, but the peace of mind & freedom is worth it! I cook all my meals from scratch which is more expensive but much healthier. Every few months I'll stay at a hotel for a day or two, that serves breakfast. I love the break of not doing dishes & using someone else's towels to wash. I'm looking to join a travel group & start going across the U.S. this year. I'm hoping to do this as long as possible, I can't imagine living in a sticks & bricks anytime soon! I've been a homeowner for decades and I don't miss mowing the lawn!!!!!
We still haven't gotten to explore Utah much, but hope to one day! It looks like there is a lot of really good boondocking out there. That’s a good idea with the hotel stay break, it definitely helps to have a couple days where you can relax from the regular routine
During a 5400 mile June trip on a budget last year through southeast to northeast to northwest and back I stayed at all but luxury camping. State & federal were modestly priced and had 30A, water & sewer. One Good Sam was tight, a bit corny and moderately priced. A county campground was minimal but comfortable. I-80 rest areas had dedicated $10 hookups with water, 30&50A. Mooch-docking was comfortable with 1 marine battery only (didn't need AC or heat). Campground in Virginia was very large, reasonably priced and beautifully wooded but I used it only to park my trailer while staying with kin for 3 nights. ,The most expensive and spartan was a Milwaukee fairground, again for a 3 night visit with kin. Although I made some reservations I really didn't need them except for the federal site. The only one that had nothing available was one that scheduled an "free", onsite concert night with local talent. Total camping cost for 28 days on the road: $590. Average: $29 but for two $50/night locations needed for close driving to visit kin. Efficiency was the rule for this trip. Since I was mostly on the road, I made use of every public restroom rather than depositing solids on board. Paper cups and plates (recommend Chinet) and left only utensils, one pan and pot to wash & dry. Mooch-docking negated the need for laundromat stops. Healthy dining was the rule with only two, guilty roadside stops for Italian and Oriental. The 2-way fridge/freezer was a blessing with leftover propane in the dual 30s.
This is a great experience of all the different types of camping! Interesting that the fairground ended up being the most expensive, we’ve stayed at a couple, but they are usually pretty cheap…they can be a good “hack” for staying in popular places for less. You had an overall great average though! We usually never make reservations very far in advance (usually 1-2 days before we arrive) and can always find SOMETHING. We love taking advantage of family members’ washers and dryers too 😆
We haven’t yet boondocked, but plan to shortly. We live in FL, but will not be spending any time at $150/night resorts. We are retired & have a 16’ travel trailer, so modest is our game.
I’ve traveled with 4 types of grills over the years. Your Weber is the easiest one to travel with in my experience. The three others were: Traeger tailgater, 2 burner Blackstone, and a 2 burner Weber (twice the size). They each have a purpose and you have to compromise with each style.
Here's something different for breakfast. In a bowl scramble an egg. Stir in a 1/2 cup of raisin bran. Fry it exactly like a pancake. Drizzle some syrup on it. Whipping cream on cheating days. One pancake holds me over till lunch. Great for quick, filling, outdoor breakfasts. You're welcome 😊
My wife does not like camping. She likes riding around to new places and spending one night in private campgrounds along the route. We do have one spot we boondock near home that is 20’ from the Mississippi River and we can watch the boats go by. Congrats on your one year anniversary. I must have found your channel right after that. Best wishes, Kevin
Boondocking has its place. When security is an issue we use state parks. We avoid rv parks like the plague unless absolutely necessary like finding a spot at the Albuquerque balloon festival. We managed to find free camping about half the trip from Maryland to phoenix and back. COE are nice and cost effective too.
I just found your channel, awesome 4:43 . My late wife and I (I lost her to ALS last May) spent 7 winters in Zephyrhills Florida and loved it. We were fulltimers for 10 years.
We barely go out to eat, except as an occasional treat. It takes a lot but have learned to keep our healthy meals simple. It is challenging at times and extra clean up but worth it to have the energy healthy eating brings. We own a lot in a luxury RV Resort in Ft Myers Beach. Our preference is to camp in the wild -more rustic like State Parks, Harvest Hosts & COE campgrounds. So....we rent our lot out and get as close to real nature as we can. BTW.....we love your channel & followed you originally because you have a Brinkley like ours. Now, I feel like you are friends we have never met. Happy traveling!
A simple wrap idea- strawberries, romaine, parm cheese, lemon olive oil vinaigrette and either blackened/ regular chicken. Will be many flavor sensations at one time yet very simple to make.
Hi guy's...Craig...I believe Jeanne "cheats" at putt putt also...she keeps score...and ALWAYS wins by 1 point 🤔🤔..we like boondocking also...don't usually use the amenities at most parks...but I definitely don't need to buy ($150.00 a night) the place..$50.00 is ok...enjoy your videos...thanks...stay safe..J&A2ofus
I really like my Gen-Y. Once I mastered hitting the ball the first time. I learned it helps to make sure the ball is greased to help it slip on and off. Your height is perfect. No need to lower it any. Someday you might need an extra inch bed clearance.
Craig and Victoria, My wife and I have been following you two on UA-cam for a while now. We are starting the process of selling our house and everything we have, getting into a Brinkley G 3500 and hitting the road...us, the RV and our Harley Trike. It's probably going to take a while to get everything done that we need to get done. Both of us are retirement age and are looking forward to doing this. You two are our favorite UA-cam RVers. We love your videos!
Hey guys, wanted to let you know coming from a super healthy eater meeting. I only eat fresh and fresh frozen iceberg lettuce with salad has absolutely no nutritional value try spring mix spinach mixed together so much better for you. Just wanted to give you that little tip otherwise you guys are doing great love watching all you keep me so entertained and informed.
Great video and good job sizzling the whole channel series so far! Trust me, all the Brinkley owners are either tuning in or shortly arriving… and there are A TON of us! 😅❤
My wife and I enjoy the luxury of plugging in to power, Something about air conditioning and entertainment keeps us from boondocking. I watch you guys and wonder how it is not too hot or humid for you guys to be so casual and admit it is fun to be camping for free. I suppose calm and collected is the best air conditioning. I look forward to hearing about the next adventure.
8:58 I started my diet back in late Feb 2024. Lost 15lb. Theeeennn I got pregnant in late April and gained it all back lol Guess I’ll try again after baby is born 🤷♀️
Great video! Some healthy meals my family has been enjoying a lot lately are: omelets with tons of good veggies in them, roasted Brussels sprouts and grilled chicken, homemade fish tacos with grilled fish and a simple coleslaw with Greek yogurt dressing vs mayo. Oatmeal with fruit and cinnamon in it, hard boiled eggs as a quick snack, a variety of salads like you made. Thanks again for the great content!!
We like a combination of resorts, regular campgrounds and boondocking. We bought 8 acres in south MS, put in a well, septic and several 50amp outlets. So we have a winter base camp to chill for a bit. Our favorite is summer time in mountains of Montana.
Salads look great, Try red bell peppers instead of green, taste better raw... And Craig!!! Get an instant thermometer... Chicken Breast to 150° and rest for 10min!! And PS. Craig you look cool..... 😂
Theres a real pretty place to boondock at Burns Lake in southern Florida. Look it up. We all parked around the little lake. Its mainly for hunters but anyone can,.
Instead of bottled salad dressing try this one: Organic Olive Oil & equal parts Kirkland Organic Balsamic Vinegar (the best) & some Organic Coconut Aminos / Best dressing ever. But your salad looked great. I'd add some avocados & some Feta cheese. Keep up the fun times. We'll be watching you here. Congrats on the Anniversary.
I do a combination of all of camping options, but boondocking isbmy favorite! Congratulations on your 1st anniversary of your channel. Ive loved you twonsince day one! Here's to many more! 🎉
Craig... you want juicy chicken and steak. Get a Sous Vide system and keep your weber hot to sear after the cook. Im cooking 80% of my dinners with it.
Excellent video. Just keep up with superb content like this, and your views and subscribers will rise for sure. As for camping styles, well that is the beauty of RVing, so many choices. We like a little bit of everything. From complete off grid boondocking to Harvest Host, to state/provincial parks to small RV parks to RV resorts. It is all good and that is part of the fun... you can change your backyard to whatever you feel like. Continued safe travels.....
We just missed you. We were there during the RV show. There were quite a few Brinkleys there. I thought on of them was you. I’m not going to lie, I stalked them all a little bit looking for you guys. 🤣🤣
C'mon Craig, you guys are still soooooo special, eh!!! Boondocking and moochdocking!!!! Eh Craig, is there an adapter to fit your propane line to the Webber grill, by-passing having to buy little propane tanks? Mmmmmmm, olives!!!!
Our style of Rving is a mix of State Parks, Boondocking, and with occasional resorts like Jellystone. Overall I would say 75% of our stays are state/ regional parks.
Stuffed peppers but instead of using rice i use riced cauliflower so very low carbs. When i make my own spaghetti i use canned tomato sauce with no sugar and instead of pasta i use spaghetti squash.
Ooh I like the idea of riced cauliflower for the stuffed peppers, we do stuffed peppers quite often but hadn’t thought about making that switch for the rice! 🙌🏼 thank you!
As soon as I saw you turning right I knew where you were going. We were just there a couple of weeks ago. I hope that the smell was a little more tolerable. It was pretty bad when we were there.
We have Thousand trails and Encore $900 a year and then free. 21 days @TT park to park..14 days @,Encore then 7 out at a TT or boondock or ? We've been doing this full time for 3 years and love it.
I guessed the olives and the tomatoes and hahaha I was right! And Congrats! Its your first Youtubiversary!! I would say you're definitely UA-camrs now.❤❤
Oh my gosh I think we were at camp margaritaville at the same time. Wish we had been able to say hi. 🤦♂️ One day we will get that chance. We were “stranded” at margaritaville because our truck was getting warranty repair. We were there Dec 22 - Feb 2. Then we went on to a COE in Georgia that was only $25/night and very quiet. Balancing them out is the best. Keep up the great videos. ❤
Good job of your healthier food choices and portion control. Five days will turn into five weeks then five years before you know it 😉 Try grilling some salmon and asparagus on the Weber and finish the salmon off with a honey/soy/ginger glaze served with rice pilaf. Simple, easy and low cal. Remember to eat you colors! We may try boondocking for the first time this summer. Usually go to the state parks wherever we travel.
You drove right by and didnt even say hi! Man I drive past that boat ramp all the time and didnt even know it was there! I"m sure your probably onto your next adventure but if your ever in the area again, you should check out Lake Placid.
We like a mix of both options during our travels, but definitely prefer being in nature. 🌲 Good luck on your healthy eating journey! I don’t know if I’ll be much help with recipes because my go to is grilled chicken and salad, which it looks like you’ve already tried a few different ways. 😜 I also love a burger salad where you basically chop up all your burger toppings with a burger patty on top. Sesame seeds sprinkled on top to complete it. 🍔 😁
Congrats on 1 year! You guys have definitely been UA-camrs for a while...lol. I'm a state park kind of guy myself. So far anyway. A little more space, little less cost, decent facilities, and usually lots of neat trails. Thanks for another good one!
Lol I guess we better just own our title then 😆 and yes!! State parks are really great (our biggest problem is that we are always booking last minute and often can’t find spots for a week stay at state parks lol)
Well it’s good to see you guys enjoying the time in Florida. Your last stop was an hour away from our RV ranch here in Myakka City Florida. If you guys need a place to top off and get rid of your waste. (Empty your tanks.) get a hold of use via our channel. We live down the street from a KOA. However we would make you stay there when we have hospitality here. Stay safe
Since we’re retired, we’re more of a “destination “ RVer. On long trips we mix in a combination of boondocking, state parks and Harvest Host. We opt for the smaller mom and pop type since we like to explore the surrounding area and don’t need extra amenities.
One of our favorite pizza places is in Auburndale called Pizza Connection. Oops! They do make lo cal pizzas 😂! I do like RV Parks better than boondocking… although we are setup for boondocking.
For the boondocking site...you said you reserved a site, but then when you arrived you didn't have a site and you just take any available site? So the reservation simply ensures a site, but not which site?

We boondock all year for the last 4 years

We spend most of our nights boondocking or cheap camping. Once a year we might stay at a nice resort style camping spot.
Nice! Do you typically stay out west for boondocking?
Yes, We have only been in the West boondocking. We have not made it to the East coast yet.
We barely go out to eat, except as an occasional treat. It takes a lot but have learned to keep our healthy meals simple. A simple wrap idea- strawberries, romaine, parm cheese, lemon olive oil vinaigrette and either blackened/ regular chicken. Will be many flavor sensations at one time yet very simple to make.

I like boondocking to save money. But, I also like full service hookup sites too.

Try marinating boneless chicken thighs in Worchester sauce for for 6 hours it is amazing
Ooh that does sound good. Good tip, thank you!!
Doughnuts and creme puffs
Yum so tempting.
I like chef's salad for my healthy choice
The things we do for the videos😂. You pulled it off, though.
Bahaha gotta get the shot 🤣
Our style of Rving is a mix of State Parks, Boondocking, and with occasional resorts like Jellystone. Overall I would say 75% of our stays are state/ regional parks.
Congrats on your one year anniversary! Have fun and safe travels, folks. :-)
Thank you so much!
Played that same mini golf course last week. That last hole, i had the same problem.
It was amazing that boondocking site was free! It looked really nice.
Stuffed peppers but instead of using rice i use riced cauliflower so very low carbs. When i make my own spaghetti i use canned tomato sauce with no sugar and instead of pasta i use spaghetti squash.
I'm taking notes on this!
Ooh I like the idea of riced cauliflower for the stuffed peppers, we do stuffed peppers quite often but hadn’t thought about making that switch for the rice! 🙌🏼 thank you!
We park on the
Side of our house
On rainy days
As soon as I saw you turning right I knew where you were going.
We were just there a couple of weeks ago.
I hope that the smell was a little more tolerable.
It was pretty bad when we were there.
Yep. U B Tubers.
We have Thousand trails and Encore $900 a year and then free.
21 days @TT park to park..14 days @,Encore then 7 out at a TT or boondock or ? We've been doing this full time for 3 years and love it.
Hay yall when it comes to tomatos the little ones unless they are organic they are GMO not so healthy
I guessed the olives and the tomatoes and hahaha I was right! And Congrats! Its your first Youtubiversary!! I would say you're definitely UA-camrs now.❤❤
You guys are definitely UA-camrs👍❤️
Thanks for the recipe idea. And let us know how your first boondocking experience goes. I hope you enjoy it.
You drove right by and didnt even say hi! Man I drive past that boat ramp all the time and didnt even know it was there! I"m sure your probably onto your next adventure but if your ever in the area again, you should check out Lake Placid.
I have heard that a very nice area. And man, it sounds like we just missed each other.
We like a mix of both options during our travels, but definitely prefer being in nature. 🌲
Good luck on your healthy eating journey! I don’t know if I’ll be much help with recipes because my go to is grilled chicken and salad, which it looks like you’ve already tried a few different ways. 😜
I also love a burger salad where you basically chop up all your burger toppings with a burger patty on top. Sesame seeds sprinkled on top to complete it. 🍔 😁
13:22 did you see that shooting star
We hadn’t noticed that. But it sure is what it looks like!! How cool!
I'm with you Craig no tomatos or olives!
We are going to have to stick together on this!! Lol!
@@wildrvlife absolutely! Hubby likes them so it's a constant battle lol
Relax Girl
Agreed
Option each Craig
Sell a book
Congrats on 1 year! You guys have definitely been UA-camrs for a while...lol. I'm a state park kind of guy myself. So far anyway. A little more space, little less cost, decent facilities, and usually lots of neat trails. Thanks for another good one!
Lol I guess we better just own our title then 😆 and yes!! State parks are really great (our biggest problem is that we are always booking last minute and often can’t find spots for a week stay at state parks lol)
Looking savage with that go pro headset bud. Sorry, Victoria said to leave a comment sooooo…… 😜
Kind of an introvert so I will take boondocking. Nice job.
Vivir así se ve que es una experiencia maravillosa amigos les mando un fuerte abrazo 😘🤗 desde mi Colombia
Thank you! Friend!
Thx for wearing the cam craig
We talked with y'all at the show and Margarritaville. Love that boondocking site. Stay safe out there.
Stay safe
What a great chance to stay at Margaritaville, we stayed near the canal but in Hickory Hammock just down the street.
