That is so fun that you are getting all those Atalas! I finally got to do that shopping I have wanted to do. I got a pink penta, a white penta, a fennell, a native porterweed, a pineland lantana, some Okiwana spinach, longevity spinach, some lettuce (first time trying these greens), 2 Wooly Dutchman pipevines and a cardinal flower. Time to get planting!
Omg your husband is just like mine!! Mine is an excellent butterfly catcher! We went to a park for our anniversary and he caught me 7 pipevine ST! And they immediately mated!! It was magical lol
Caterpillars are so cute!! It doesn't matter what species they are, they're all so cute!!
Yes!!! Exactly🩵🩵🩵🩵🦋🐛🩵🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🌸🌸
The little mesh bag is so cute! It looks like a little wallet
Im just imagining a scenario where you're at the store about to pay for something and instead of giving the cashier money, you put a cute little baby caterpillar in their hand and they accept it as payment 😂😂😂
Have mesh pouch will travel lol You are a riot!! "What a score" that is so great Lol The things that make us happy matter so much. I'm so happy for you. What a fun video. See you next time.
My, what fabulous emojis you have there. 😉😉😉😂😂😂
@@ButterflyGardeningwithSusan Lol I agree
I absolutely would have brought in the monarchs!!! I want some Atala babies so much. I am going to try so hard not to have envy in my heart
Oh my goodness! Now I have to have a mesh pouch! I Must have one with me just in case.🤩 so cute! Love how happy that made you! You know I would have saved those monarchs from the hurricane. I mean why not. Your Florida room is so organized that you planted those with such ease! Love it! Have a great week!🐛🦋💕
Yes, I think everyone should carry a mesh caterpillar rescue pouch!!😂😂😂
@@ButterflyGardeningwithSusan 🤣
What fun! You've been a very busy bee, can't believe all the atalas you rescued from downtown! I'm buying my first coontie tomorrow from Ansons nursery here in Homosassa...they do have a nice native section, hopefully I can find a few new plants. ( I love the way zebra longwings fly, too!)
Oooh fun!! Plant shopping is the best. I hope Atala butterflies find their way to your garden. 🩵🩵🩵🩵🦋🦋🦋🦋
Look at you out there saving the Atalas from the endangered list! ❤️🖤
I may need a trip to your downtown.🤔😁
My Publix has Coontie plants all over their parking lot. You know I’ll be checking. 😂😂😉😉🦋🦋🐛🐛
@@ButterflyGardeningwithSusan You crack me up. I can just imagine you out there looking around in the bushes. 😆😆
Well I would have taken the monarchs in without a hurricane😂 The atalas are priceless, like, I can’t even. You sifting through coontie plants on the street is just so funny. You know what you should buy, a huge walk in pop up enclosure for out somewhere in your garden. I’ve been contemplating buying one myself so I can put my newly eclosed babies outside. That way I can be like, oh a new baby! Take it outside and to the top of the pop up enclosure, where it can hang in the sun and the breeze and such and then just fly out when it’s ready! I just found out they exist so it’s like a whole thing now. The only problem is, where would I put an enclosure that’s as big or bigger than me😂 I’m gonna figure something out and then I think I’ll buy one and hang my overwintering cocoons and chrysalides in it! Glad we had this talk because now I’m buying one😂
I actually bought one and haven’t even unboxed it because I was going to return in. Mostly because I didn’t have room for it. But now that my outdoor workspace is almost completely empty due to s certain hurricane, I just might put it up.
@@ButterflyGardeningwithSusan Do it for me😂 Let me know if putting them out there works! I feel like whenever I grab them I stress them out and then most of them don’t come back. I want them to feel welcome here, so I figured that if I bought one and they flew out on their own accord after they dried and tested the new controls, then they’d be more likely to stick around.
You need a nectar garden.
Oh yeah, I would've taken the monarch caterpillars in. I aim to have an even bigger bumper crop of common milkweed next year. My rationale is "grow enough to feed a small stripey army", so that way we've got more than enough for them to snack on.
How did you make your leprodarium?
oh heavens! Life is full of surprises like finding caterpillars at a car show! I would have kept the monarchs inside til release too, btw. What was the name of the red/orange plant that had the butterflies swarming on them? Not the Mexican sunflower though.
Firebush??
@@ButterflyGardeningwithSusan Yes thank you

I guess Joy Butterfly doesn't sell that...bummer
No, but I bet you could find it mail order from an Etsy seller.
Ha you'll get them established for sure now that you know how to find them. I'll bet you can find some other species too like American ladies and phaon crescents that will colonize your yard.
I just searched the big stand of coontie to no avail😢
Where was it?
The Walmart in Valrico
Keep checking. You will find some. 🩵🦋🩵🦋🩵🦋
