Thank you for this video. It helped me a lot & has been previously hard to find the answers I needed.

Very useful, Troy! I recently bought the chord chart lesson, and in that video it looked like had made a replacement for the 3rd string bender, But that was before the foam, great idea!
    (btw I broke a buttonhead too) 👍

How high should the bender arms be above the strings? That determines how high your hand sits above the stings. Is it important?

What have you replaced the rubber pads with? I've found the only way I can get the raise I want is without the pads, but it gets so noisy!

Hey Troy, thanks for your very useful explanations! I´m new to steel and slide guitar, just got a mahalo surfboard lapsteel from ebay and i am mounting a duesenberg bender on it (therefore i had to manufacture a baseplate to lift it up to get the rigth string height...)
Now i see, that i´d like to play a C6-Tuning. And i see, that the benders are most useful at an open D tuning.
Do you have any suggestions what´s making sense? 😀
My Idea was now using the bender to raise the high E to F and lowering G to F to get a Fmajor on the 4high strings.
or raise the A to a Bflat to get the 7th to the Cmajor. hmmm
would you please give my an advice? :-)
    Have a nice day! 😀

Hi Troy, very nice video! It seems that your two benders don't have any springs underneath? Mine feel quite stiff with the springs, especially when bending a full tone. Should I remove them? Thank you!

@@GeeMorno My guitar guy set up the levers in "bend down" mode, so it required springs to return. I finally adjusted the bender to "bend up" mode, and the tension of the strings brings the lever back, so I removed the springs and everything works fine!

@@Larynx_Mtl Thanks for the update! All day long at work, my mind was just pulled towards my multibender. I had been waiting for 4hrs at work, doing nothing but getting paid. And I would have much rather been at home actually making use of my time. The guitar tech was new to this system & so he tried his best to instal it correctly. But made a simple error of having my levers too high, which then resulted in CRANKING down the springs of the “full step or half step bend”. The result was, levers too high, & totally pinched springs of the thumb screws. After work, I only had 1 hr before bed, & back to work. I took those larger springs off, cuz my common sense told me that the string tension alone, was suitable enough for the pitch to return after bending up. Now, rather than fight the system, Im dancing & playing, at ease. Barely even need to focus on the benders anymore, as they now sit low & can be pressed with my pinky. Its us guys commenting on here, that helps eachother out (when instalation instructions are sometimes vague🤗

Troy, have you tried setting up a bender to lower the pitch? The Multibender manual says that you can do it, but the explanation is not terribly clear and, for the life of me, I can't get it to work.

Theres 2 places you can slot your string through. 1 place for bending up, 1 place for bending down.

What would you need to do to add more levers? I presume you would have to take off the others but what order should i take to remove them? Wish duesenberg had a better manual

Can’t remember exactly how I did it, but I added a 3rd to mine, on the fourth string. It wasn’t that difficult. Initially, I tried it as +2, but I kept breaking strings, so changed that to -1 - which is nice and definitely adds possibilities.

Have you seen B and G benders for a square neck dobro. I had Bigsby Palm Pedals on my Sho-Bro, but I let them go when I sold it. I now have a dobro and trying to find Palm Pedal parts. I'm using the palm pedal set up for a solid body Tele. I could use an arm. I made one, but I'm wondering it will work. I'm wanting to bend my 1st and 2nd string. D to E and B to C#. I tried pulling the strings with my fingers, but they are too small, and not that strong.

Hey, I was looking at the 3 and 4 string palm benders and was wondering what your thoughts are on them. It just seems a little restrictive to just have only 2 string to bend even on a 6 string steel. I would love to get an 8 string and put a 4 string bender on. Lots of versatility.

Hi! When I change 3rd string from wound to plain one my bender becomes too sensitive, and I must turn both of screws till the end of thread. Is this normal? Or I do anything wrong?

Don’t use a solid 3rd string. It needs to be a wound 3rd string.
