my experience of him was of the best quality. he was very passionate about taekwon-do and coaching. he was very genuine and entirely respectable. he was completely dedicated and focused and since he left coaching our ITF school to pursue WTF and the olympics i've been searching for a coach comparable (which i may now have found with a WTF school). while i trained with him, he coached regular classes, as well as a demonstration team and competition team. with each i trained 10x/wk and loved it.
best taekwon-do coach i've ever had. this is probably gonna take me 2 comment boxes so pretty please bear with me :) 'gi' is the short form for 'dogi', a karate uniform. its the japanese word kuz karate is japanese. 'dobok' is the korean word for a tkd uniform; kuz its korean. the one he's wearing is actually the one promoted by general choi in his encyclopedia. its kinda jacket style with a velcro strip down the middle to close it.
@jinglebearr usually when your uniform comes out it is too short, or belt not tight enough. And are you sure he made wtf before because 8 time canadien canadian champion - ITF ->(1987-88-89-90-92-94-99) WTF ->(2003)
i'm not sure exactly why his dobok usually seemed sloppy, but i can tell you he's tall and his movements are big. to me, from training with him, it just seemed he was always more focused on the task than with fixing his dobok. i didn't mind kuz it was as if the task was paramount and everything else secondary; he was inspiring. and i'm sorry you got the impression that he's cocky. the music actually didn't do him justice because you can't hear the crowd during the fights. he's a crowd pleaser
always seems to happen. I know a TKD guy that's moving into full contact and he's gotten a lot slower and just more heavy handed... it doesn't make sense tbh.
the only reason he didnt succeed in k1 was because he fought stupidly. all of a sudeen he forgot how to kick and move and started using the thai clinch. WHY?! why would you abandon your strength and use techniques that your not familar with? its like mike tyson all of a sudden using the muay thai knee or attempting high kicks if he did k1. it just doenst make sense. pierre shudda just used fast roundhouses and attempt to batter up his opponent.
man i just have to say, brilliant job all ur videos are amazin i love dem all. perfectly combined with de good music.
simply awsome

The "cocky" thing is part of the act.
Really nice!
muy bueno!
watch him against Andy Hug in K-1, it'll make your day
@jinglebearr to me it looks like his dobak is just to short for his body??

What happens when you put Andy Hug in the middl of all this! Haha
