Thanks for the demo! I just got mine, and look forward to learning more about its capabilities, and seeing all the things you both do with it.
Yes, I want to see more about this wonderful machine, thank you for your demo!
OF course! Thanks for watching
Fantastic review, thank you for the great effort.
Thanks for the video on this laser!
The laser looks like something that I would like to add to my shop a little later in the year!
Thanks so much! It's a great tool and our new day to day machine !
That ten seconds wait after finish is to clear out all the smoke before letting you open it. Annoying for ventilated workshops, but nice safety for indoors workshops using filters or window/duct output.
It is a great safety feature and my bad habit! 😆 😆
Thanks for this demo video! I'm getting mine this week! I would love to see you make your beautiful Nutcracker using the conveyor! That would be an excellent tutorial and seeing the final results! I'm both excited and nervous about my P2, but I will probably get used to it as I did with all of my Cricut machines! Y'all are awesome!
I'm jealous. If I had $5,000 you can bet I'd be putting it on this.
Thanks so much! That's a great idea to do aS a comparison!
Can you do a comparison video with this, the Polar and Glowforge Pro?
Hi Kim and Garrett - A new toy for your arsenal. It looks great and did a great job. I am very impressed with these videos, even though I am just a Cricut Cutter, I like to see what goodies are out there cutting up a storm. Thanks for sharing and continued success. I'm just about ready to start my "bee project." Can't wait. Love PegEgg
Cricut + laser lets you cut all materials, consider xtool products, their software is still improving & is like Cricut design space!
With all the laser advancements, it won't be long before there is a good entry-level laser at the price of a Cricut. Thank you so much for your support, PegEgg!!!! ~garrett
THEY DEF ARE GOING TO MAKE THE COMPETITION ANTE UP
Oh Yeah! This thing is a beast!
Great review, covered a lot that other haven't. Wish I could afford a P2. Hopefully we'll get a follow up once you get your hands on the accessories, especially the conveyor. Keep it up you two, I love your enthusiasm, it's very infectious. Greetings from Sydney, Australia.
Yes definitely! Thanks for the kind words
Looks like a better choice than the Polar! I can’t wait to see your next projects!
This thing is a young up and comer that came out of nowhere! We just got it yesterday. We have projects planned.
Hey K&G thanks for making me laugh. Good tips Keep it up.
Any time!
I will be watching
So I was thinking of my next laser to be an Omtech Polar. Im thinking this one instead. Just wow!! Im impressed how much they've improved.
Right? It really has everything like EVERYTHING we could ask for in a desktop laser
There seems to be a lot of charing on the surface after cutting, anyway to reduce that, especially if you’re not painting it?
What kind of air filter are you using? Do you find a filter good for indoor use or is it better to exhaust out a window?
I am ordering one today lol
I would love to purchase the Dog sign SVG but I can’t find the one made on your site.
What are y’all‘s thoughts this I would be a beginner. Do lots of different crafts, but like to move up to the laser.
Thanks for another great video. I just wish they would ship the ones out that we’ve paid thousands of dollars for rather than continuing to send out the free ones for marketing. I’m also disappointed in the cut area. I understood it to be larger and I’m worried about the charred wood. But I’m excited that it seems to be at least better than the Glowforge which is ridiculously expensive!
They likely had a few hundred to promote and are making all of the preorders to order. (just a theory) I understand wanting to get your hands on something you've invested in though! We definitely still have tuning in to do on it though, excited to keep messing around with it
How does this compare to the other lasers? Overall, which is your fav ?
P2 is my favorite desktop, with the S1 right behind it.
QUESTION: HOW is it possible to get the machine to not photograph the substrate you place in it with perspective? I inserted a small wooden box (about 1/2" thick) onto the slats bed - but the image in the xTool Creative Space software looks "fish-eyed" or with a "depth-of-field"? It makes it difficult to properly align an imported image to be perfectly centered on the substrate - because the on-screen image shows the inner walls of the box - in perspective.
If you are using the P2, use the Close Capture button under the refresh button. We use it in this video ua-cam.com/video/ox93eB1kO4k/v-deo.html
I tried this method several times - with no luck (no good results). I wish there was a way to share with you a reference screenshot of what I am referring to.@@KimandGarrettmakeit
Curious your thoughts versus a glowforge? I have a glowforge but I feel like I need this. Lol
This arrived 2 days ago, so I haven't had too much time to play with it. But if this thing can do all it claims, the Glowforge may have to retire. She will always be my first and hold a special place in my heart.
Hello, I love your work. I am new to this and would like to know where to buy the materials (wood etc..) and which laser you recommend for a beginner.
We recommend one of these desk top lasers, maybe we'll do a mega video comparing all of the lasers
Question: the instructions say purified water but I see you using Distilled. Which should I use?
You can use either. I like distilled because my grocery store has it. 😆 You just want to make sure it doesn't have anything that would promote anything growing in the water.

Bonjour , j aimerais savoir si il est preferable d acheter la p2 ou la omtech polars ? La p2 vaut elle vraiment plus le coup que la polar ?
D'avance je vous remercie .
We think they're both great, I think it comes down to price. If you can spend a little more, the P2 has so many additional features and accessories that make it a little better. If you want to start with an affordable machine, then the Polar is also a great option, it still has a passthrough, just not automatic, it also comes with 2 rotary tools.
I'm recieving my P2 today and I am worried. I never owned a laser or a CNC and confused about setting up the exhaust. You mentioned you hooked yours up to an air filter? Is that all? Does it have to be exhausted outside my house? Haven't been able to find any info or videos on that part of the set up process...
Yes! outside the house
Going to pre order mine! Also where can I find that file?

Another great video! My P2 is on track to be here Tuesday next week! One questions for you - I thought you should not run CO2 lasers at 100% as it greatly reduces the life of the laser - or is that just a bad rumor?
I mainly cut in my glowforge on full power. It has been about 4 years running.
Thats so exciting! Congrats
Will it cut sublimation board?
Oooo! Good one. I will try it!
Did you have air assist on...lots of charged marks on the surface of the material.
The smoke extraction looks horrible?
This was our first set up! We're working on tuning everything up now!
Does the emergency stop also unlock it?
I mean, yeah, a mechanical lock is nice if you're using it around someone who doesn't have a clue (Including kids)... But what if there does happen to be a fire? How quickly can you get in there if it's locked?
That's a great question! I bet it's a safety feature they considered
@@KimandGarrettmakeit
I mean... You got the machine... Maybe you could test it, and let us know?
I want one
I keep seeing people say 23 x 12 or so & other people saying the work area is 26 x 14 or so. Which is it?😊
A 14" by 26" board fit inside, but the software only let us go as big as 12.1" by 22.6"
According to their website the difference is between "bed size" (26"×14") and "work/processing area" (23.6''×12.1''). People seem to be mixing those definitions.
❤
try not to run at 100% power as this will shorten the laser tube life, 80% max would be better-- I dont know why xtool does not mention this? opps sell more tubes?
How noisy is this machine
$4,599 😐
Is the wifi easy to setup?
