I always wondered what you were doing before you cut your mat. Now I know you were lifting up the edges of the photos. Brilliant!

Lisa, THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing this video! I really appreciate you doing this video, especially where I requested it to be done! I have had these layering guides for years and completely forgot how to use them! Now after your awesome video, I will no longer wonder how to use them! Thanks so much, you’re the best!😀❤️👍🏼🎉

You are so welcome! I am glad it was helpful. Sometimes tools can be overwhelming, but now you have the video to go back and refer to as needed!

Awesome tips. I’ve had these for a long time but never use them because they wouldn’t catch the edge of the photo. Time to get them back out!

I have no idea where I got the tip or why I do it, except that it works. haha
I love them and once your get over that learning curve, you won't go back to any other way.
Let me know if you have any issues figuring it out.

I have the smaller ones, & I use them every time I mat a photo. Like you I could never cut straight with my paper trimmer. I did see them on ebay if someone wants to try that.

I prefer the smaller ones, I wish they would bring those back. I didn't even think about Ebay but great suggestion.

I need to dust off my layering guides. I got mine from Stamping Up, back in the day.

I always find it interesting when people don’t use the same tools as me. (I know that is an unrealistic statement 🤪). But I couldn’t scrap without them and couldn’t imagine them collecting dust. 🤣
I know they aren’t for everyone and everyone scrapbooks differently.
Do it, get them out, I know you are going to love them!!

@@LifeinLayouts I think it's more of out of sight, out of mind. I need to reorganize my scrappy space and put useful tools within arms reach. They are now on my desk 😉😀

I have these layering guides but couldn't make them work. I will use your tip on lifting the edge of the photo just a bit. Also...I may not have a good skills with an exacto knife...any tips?

Let me know if my tip helps. With the exacto knife, my main tip would be to take it slow and make sure you are applying enough pressure.
