I agree with you. Sincerely it's Corpse who allowed me know Valkyrae and the rest of the team (toast, lud, peter, jack, sykkuno, poki, valkyrae, broke, Karl, ... almost everyone lolol) and I'm so happy for that :) they're all so funny and I love them, like really they're all making me laugh and smile almost everyday.
But what I mean is even if I love Corpse and mostly watch his stream, when I'm watching the stream of another one of the team I'm not just here because they are playing with Corpse, but because I like *WHO* they are.
And I don't like them because they are friend with Corpse but because they are fabulous human being, yes.
It's not nice and quite disrespectful to just act like they don't care about them and just care about the person they like the most, that make me upset and annoyed, humpf.

I dont think she was apologizing to the toxic people about ending the stream, she was apologizing to the nice people who ended up not being to watch her stream because of other people and for having to now put members only chat because there are some nice people who can't afford to pay a subscription. She's very kind but I think she did good in ending the stream.
I'm a huge believer of if the stream isn't fun anymore, end it. Plain and simple. She did not need to apologize. She did right by her own career.

Everyone did that because they genuinely believed something was wrong. She suddenly says she isn't having fun, gets off stream, and even already had her twitter privated. I think more people got worried because of that. Remember that most people don't watch chat while watching someone stream so they were probably ignorant about the toxic ass chat then assumed the worst had happened

However, I think viewers do need to remember that they're watching full grown adults play these games, these tags are very childish regardless of what has happened.
It's flat out celebrity worship in the highest form we've seen since the Hollywood celebrity caste. I'd argue even more intense, since this type of celebrity interacts with their fans directly/indirectly, making the loyal fan subconsciously feel they are "within reach".

This is all overblown. She can make her own choices and choose to stop the stream whenever she wants. I wish I had money to pay for a membership but I’m happy that I’m able to watch her streams either way. Boundaries are important and with such a large following, you need to establish that so things don’t get out of hand.

i used to be so annoyed with the fact that i couldn't watch her live because i wasn't a member but knowing her reasoning behind it changes my perspective on her. i used to think she just wanted money and her content wasn't for the fans but for checks and seeing this gave me such a better understanding of why she made that choice. i really respect valkyy so much more

I hate when people go into other peoples streams and all they talk about is other creators. Then the chat is spammed about that creator (AKA CORPSE bc his super fans are the worst when it comes to this) and people who care about the actual creator they’re watching is just sifting through people creaming their jeans for some random other person

I dont think more mods will help, if anything it's gonna make the situation worse because the people being silenced will try even harder to hate lol. She can end her stream for whatever reason, but it would be scummy of her not to give an explanation, more so since not everyone was being overly excited or asking her to do things she didn't want to do. well, only members could chat. I am used to chatting on youtubers lives in hope they would see my comments and interact with them etc. So imagine my frustration in discovering Valkyrae, fall in love with her character in the Among Us videos, which I've been bingewatching since early october 2020, and not being able to at least interact live with other viewers... I did not sign up for membership cuz gaming is not my thing, and I only enjoy Among Us streams, not particularly bc of the game but bc of their interaction that is terrific. Has its own culture, inside jokes, and the chemistry between them is worth film or tv show adaptation... but anyway, she has such charisma but I understant things got to be money oriented, otherwise whats the point right...

i really hate that people act as if corpse is like, the core of the group of people he plays with and is friends with, when he isn't. valkyrae, sykkuno, toast, they were all still streaming and making videos and doing what they do before they met corpse and played with him and became close. he isn't like the jesus christ of the amigops, and they're not some slaves whose only purpose is to just play games with corpse. he's already said before he has a hard time consistently streaming because of his health problems, and if that's an issue then that shows you literally give zero fucks about his wellbeing. if you have a problem with any other streamers not constantly playing with corpse, then don't watch the fucking stream !! be more considerate of other influencers, not just your favs.
I think people need to chill out about acting like everyone is a shitty human being because they want to be involved and chat. I was there and watching and I get that it gets overwhelming sometimes and I do get that she was telling a few people to back off and they didn't. Personally, there was too much going on in chat and I just went fullscreen for most of it. The unfortunate thing seems to be that her members seem to think that they are the sweetest best people in existence and there's a vitriol seething hate for anyone that isn't from many of them that I tend to avoid her streams since then. I'd never seen anything like that before then. I just like to chill when I watch and mostly I'm just watching to help me with my channel I'm trying to get going that's unrelated to this login. I know it's not her and I really do like her but wow, people need to stop with the hate. There's too much of that going on.
Nothing wrong with subs or viewers. Slow mode and moderators would go a long way but it's difficult to find good mods.

@@lauramessy yeah, its definitely annoying when the toxicity just gets to be too much. i enjoy corpse's videos and his music ( occasionally, its not my favourite genre of music but agoraphobic is nice to listen to ) and i enjoy watching him interact with his friends and seeing him play and knowing he's having a good time. it would be great if he could stream more, i understand people want to see more of him. but that isn't my decision to make, its his. and given that he's said plenty of times he's unable to stream for long periods of time consistently, and that other games lile rust or raft are harder to stream because it makes his arm hurt + his medical conditions, you'd think people would have a bit more consideration towards him. fanbases will always have toxicity in them, no matter what it is. you just have to know that those people aren't true fans, and dont care about the people they're fans of. the ones who ask corpse for a face reveal, name reveal, or just anything about him that corpse hasn't released himself, those people aren't there because they support him, they literally just want to invade his privacy and its so irritating. i don't even look at chat half the time because its so annoying to see all the idiots asking when he's doing a face reveal. like,, just watch the fucking stream or get the fuck out.

If you're in Rae's stream, be supportive to her. It's actually rather insulting to go into someone's stream and demand to see another person. At least in my opinion.
I agree, it would be insulting. If I had been in her situation however I would've handled it far more professionally. She made her own choice and I support that, but personally I think she could've just told those people that she wanted to play with her friends, and that if they wanted to go talk to corpse or see sykkuno or whoever, then they should go watch them and let people who actually want to watch her be in her chat.
This way she would've retained control over the situation, and asserted that she wasn't going to be bothered by any trolls or other fanbases trying to convince her to do something she didn't want to do.
