Nice! Did you renderfarm it? If so which one and how much? We might go down that route this year, it takes forever, even on our 4 GTX 970s. Or did you use a supercomputer at your university?
No, we didn´t use a renderfarm, it was done at the university. In our Workstation we used a GTX 1070 for test renderings and light setup, the speedup compared to a single I7-4790 was only 3-5, depending on the scene. In such complex scenes, raytree building takes up a lot of time, so prefer many powerful CPU´s instead of GPU rendering, as it is a lot faster, except you can get loads of powerful GPU´s. We got some serious support from the university. They operate around 60 Linux desktop computers which run 24/7 and provide an I7-4790 and 16gb ram each. We wrote a little Render-Manager Bash script which distribute the frames to all computers in the night. Rendering the scene takes around 12 GB Ram on each computer. So no supercomputer, but loads of powerful desktop computers.
Hi guys! I'm in the Formula Student too! University of Trento, e-car too! I'm in the electrical design and rendering/advertisement/promotion :) May I ask what software did you use? Good to hear that you used your Uni workstation as we are going to do the same!
Mit was für einem Programm wurde das Video erstellt, also das virtual assembly? Freu mich schon den Wagen in echt zu sehen! Schöne Grüße vom Ignition Racing Team
Gotta talk to the guy who designed the monocoque and the SES, looks damn good and practical, but is it conform with all the SES rules on, for example, the FHBracing? Either I didn't understand them or this is a real mastapiece ;) Looking forward to the FSG!
This is amazing..!! Can i ask you which brand of the absorber do your team use this year? it looks like an air spring&damper in the video, and i am very interested about that because our team also use air absorber. Thanks in advance.
Awesome work guys & girls, keep it up! See you in Hockenheim :)
Crysis 2 theme by Hans Zimmer!💪🏻😎🤘🏻
awesome work, can I get the details of the software used for making this .
Awesome video. Can you tell me part of part, like battries type, electric motor type, tyres type and other?
Oh man, i am jealous 😍😍
is it the same motor in the front and back? 600V accumulator?
Very well made! How long did it take to render it out? I do the renders over at Bath
Total Rendering time was about 30 hours on 50
i7-4790 Processors.

What question do you have exactly? Maybe we can talk in FSG :)
Awesome work:) I'm curious about your carbon fiber wheels. Did you guys make it by yourselves?
We are working on them at the moment. Hopefully getting it ready for the season.
