- A turn by turn guide for Virginia International Raceway. This will help drives new to this track prepare for their event. The base video was taken at a Chin Track Days event in a 2018 Camaro SS 1LE.
Very helpful. I just finished my second HPDE at VIR and learned the track even more after watching this. More tracks, please!

I'm doing a hpde event there late November. First time out there for me, anything not in the video that you wish was?
I don't think I'll ever see this track in person, but as someone who had difficulties in Forza I really appreciate this video. Although it's the inside loop part that drives me really mad.
Great video. Excellent instruction and intel for one of the great tracks. Everyone going for the first time, should study this one.
Such a fun track to drive! I live near the track and have driven it a couple of times on Track Days - I always wondered how fast a professional driver with the right car do it - pretty impressive.
I will be running VIR in Oct for the 1st time with Chin Track Days. Will be my 3rd HPDE and this video has some really good info! I will make sure to watch it over and over again before the track day.
This is a great tool. Very much appreciate the time and effort and fun creating this great video.
When I did skip barber years ago there- they said the only area that scared them was that area before oak tree where they said over and over to just bail out infield and don’t correct into the left wall- that little bend has always kinda alarmed me since! Great job!
Nice, informative and very helpful video! I am really glad you made it because I'm going to VIR for the first time next weekend. Also, spell check is your friend. 😉
The late great Jim Pace did an excellent lap guide
6:51 I saw it happen exactly like that several years ago. I was in my C5 coming up on a Mini in the wet. Just as I crested the hill I saw him snap back to my left. He slid backwards into the tires at a pretty good clip. They red-flagged the session. I saw the car in the paddock afterwards and the rear end was a mess. It definitely wasn't going to buff out.
Extremely helpfull. Thank you soo much.
Great tutorial from a former NASA instructor.
super insightful. chin rules !
Great video, extremely informative and conscious racing
Nice work!
"On 2nd thought, use this tree instead" - Are you kidding? It ... leaves all the time
It’s really disappointing that only 4 people got this excellent, too tier joke👌
@@MrLuvtheUSA I got it. Well done sir. ;-)
information information "corner worker" information information information "corner worker" hahah great vid!
Great vid thanks for posting
What camera/system is used for the in-car video and car data?
It is the built in GM system Performance Data Recorder. It is a fantastic system that allows you to see multiple parameters each lap...tire pressure, trans. temp, max speed etc.
Fuck this track is so hard
that sand trap for turn 1 is so ridiculous. They need to make it bigger. I've seen several people miss turn 1 and go to the right of the sand trap hitting the wall.
Nobody does anything nowadays unless theres a camera on them.
