With this last week of losing Desmond Tutu, then Betty White, it's felt like watching darkness creep over the world, slowly at first then all at once. I needed the Light of this poem today. This is a speech; not poetry. No metaphors. No sophisticated images. She's extremely over-hyped and speaks in cliches.

@@mrjollyguy25 Most people don't have the patience or developed intelligence to understand real poetry. Her cliches "speak" to them because cliches seem accessible and don't take an effort of the intellect or even the deeper layers of emotion.
It's both beautiful and a tad bit disconcerting. Feels like "be kind, everyone work together, be kind and not mind the money in politics or corrupted corporations polluting the planet, be kind and work together, don't wonder how the billionaires get richer and you get poorer, be kind, ignore the hard questions, grow through it, together, even while some lost, deny, or hurt that skill." so who is WE then in this?
Why not do both?
It’s quite clear to me that
“We”, is the universal “we”. Humanity. All of us who live on this planet.
Peace and Goodwill to all mankind, is not just for Christmas.

@@kirsteneasdale5707 Of course it both and all of us. Except some don't play that way. And this is killing the planet for profit. This is a very tricky thing. I think Amanda is aware, yet doesn't yet realize deep enough how powers like the elite may use her believe in we, to sedate us with hope. I hope my cynic side is wrong. I hope it helps the billionaires to wake up and help save the planet. But for now, their PR campaigns and philanthropy just seem to hide self enrichment, corruption at the cost of everything else. And Amanda filmed in this rich setting and dress, inspires me and yet I feel sedated at the same time. And that hurts.
@@KootFloris We should not let the evils in this world, blind us to what is good. It is down to all of us as individuals to play our part in making things better. The greed that is responsible for all of the things you mention, does indeed make me angry, but it also reinforces how important it is, not to allow that anger to be our dominant emotion, which can so easily turn into resentment or hate, and ‘othering’ of our fellow humans. We must be kind to one another, and continue to speak truth to power.
She is bringing healing to the people.

Her words are great. The editing, however, is bad -it dilutes her delivery. Too many movements and scenes, not enough time to savor each poetry line. Angling away from here eyes, less eye contact, less impact
In the beginning she closes her left eye and is using my stolen identity and my grandpa's, who died. Disgusting to silence people, then steal what they do. Say someone did something to you and get them pimped out. I always looked at poems and all my emails with them were stolen. Since I was in foster care with this person who has a different identity but silences me.
