Hi dentside78, the bilge Panels on my Tiki are the tops of my built in water tanks, standing clearance measures 1836mm. i stand strait at 1860mm so no i cant stand strait up in the hulls. However due to the design layout of the 38s as you transit either to the head, bed, galley or table you are in motion and in the process of lowering your body. When lent against the galley benches(port) and dresser area(stbd) i have a clearance of 15mm. i can lean and chat comfortably. The cabin/wheelhouse on top will have sanding head room as this where we will spend most of our time, this vessel is for weekends and holidays and is for more of a camper than a permanent home.Cheers Guy
@@fromgumtreestoblueseas3349 thanks for the info. We're going to order plans from JWD this fall and our choices are narrowed between the tiki 38 and tiki 46. Setting sail June 2030, so 6 years and 10 months count down!
interested in how you'll install the electric motor and where, are you going to use electric outboards? or are you going to use electric sail drives?
At this time we are keeping the 4 stroke Yamaha high thrust motors.
Can you stand up straight in the 38' with the bilge panels in place?
