Out of all Asian languages I've tried, Vietnamese seems the most simple, practical, and fun to learn. Tonal language without the character learning for people that use the Latin alphabet. It is a great idea to just combine, it is a mix of the best of languages.
I like that laziness! Vietnamese is a very logical language!
I wouldn't call it lazy, it's smart !!

I like that I don't have to conjugate words! I just have to remember when to add certain words like "có" "con" or "những" Vietnamese is a very fun language to learn :)

Mình chuẩn bị bắt đầu học, mình muốn tìm truyện văn bản có âm thanh bản địa! nhưng tất cả nội dung tiếng Việt tôi tìm thấy đều không có gì giống như vậy và tất cả đều được trả phí! Tôi thích các nước như Việt Nam, Philippines, Thái Lan, Indonesia, Việt Nam có vẻ là nước khó khăn nhất. Tôi muốn đối mặt với thử thách này, vì tôi nghĩ tiếng Nga thậm chí còn khó hơn tiếng Việt và tôi đã học tiếng Nga một thời gian và học rất giỏi!

We think you must be a good language learner. You definitely can learn Vietnamese on your own by trying Duolingo for free.
The fact is Vietnamese is a tonal language and it would be tricky at the first place to learn speaking and pronunciation, so it's recommended for learners to attend a course with teacher's guide until around Elementary Level, so you would have solid foundation for self-study. :)
I looove this feature of Vietnamese.. and I find super interesting both ways of learning vocabulary: to learn a new one-syllable word, and then start finding others containing it.. or to learn a double word, and then finding what combination is it made of 😊❤🇻🇳
Vietnamese are very smart. Simple and effective. Americans make it too complicated for their own good

Holy moly... ive i heard quan & ao, & quan ao my whole life... but never realized they were they same! ( in my head, they had separate pronunciations). This will help me memorize vocab so much easier

What’s the difference between bố mẹ and phụ huynh? Is it just more formal?
"Phụ huynh" is Sino-Vietnamese word and it's a bit more formal and often used in the educational contexts.
For example:
Parents Evening/Meeting = Họp phụ huynh (We never say "Họp bố mẹ")
Many parents want their children to study abroad. = Nhiều phụ huynh muốn con họ đi du học.

Chăn! Vợ Anh nói mền. Ga là sheet!!!! Thế à! Em ơi, Tiếng nam có từ khác không? Anh cũng nhìn trong từ điển “ga” có nhiều nghĩa nhưng không có sheet!
Dạ, chăn và mền dùng như nhau ạ, cả ở miền Nam và miền Bắc.
dạ, vâng. Ga/ khăn trải giường/drap đều là sheet.
Giáo viên ở trong Nam nói là ở trong Nam dùng cả 3 từ này ạ. :)
