I don't like Scott Foster, but Gobert definitely fouled Allen with fore arm across the face. You can't do the money sign like that and not expect a tech. Foster does a lot of foul "no pun intended" calls, but I'm not going to go after Scott Foster just because he's terrible sometimes when he makes the correct call. Gobert should have just taken the 6th foul and got off the court. The tech lead to the FT which tied it up. His actions lead to the game going into OT. Which ended with a Timberwolves loss.

It's not a rake. There is forearm contact to the head so by the letter of the law it's a foul, but if you look from the other angle he's getting shoved on both sides, as he tries to make a swim move over Allen he gets shoved into him and his arm goes down into Allen's face. It's up to the ref to call that one, but there's definitely a case for it to not be a foul and just be incidental contact without intention.

Rewatch the play at 25% speed. Gobert is sandwiched between 2 cavs, and it's niangs arm that grabs allens arm. The face contact wasn't called a foul or they would have reviewed for flagrant 1 or 2 on Gobert. The problem I have though isn't whether Gobert committed the foul, we could argue that all day. The problem is scott foster. He was the farthest from the play. He is a notoriously bad ref. And he gave the cavs a technical freethrow in a 1 point game with 27 seconds to go because his feelings got hurt. If it wasn't scott foster, this wouldn't be an issue because the tech wouldn't have been called regardless of whether the foul was called. But I stand by my position: Rudy was covered 2 v 1 in the post going for a rebound with 27 seconds left. The contact against Rudy at the body, especially getting pushed in the back, was a foul in and of itself. That play should have been play on, unless you like refs calling ticky tacky bs at the end of a close game. Again, rewatch the play at slow speed and you will see plenty of contect coming from the cavs.

@dahammer044 - has nothing to do with this one call
Cavs shot 3 fts in the 1st half, then the refs decided to turn it up and Cavs shot 31 fts in the 2nd half and ot. Almost every call went their way
Set a season high for fts made in 1 quarter, went 15/18 in the 3rd. Wolves shot something like 4

There was litterally the person right behind gobert giving him a bear hog... so that's the first thing. 2nd thing wears the Goberts left arm? Can't see it...all speculation but Gobert was being held to begin with so... the correct call is loose ball foul.
