Another version of the legend is is about two poor sisters. A younger and older sister. Disclaimer, this story is a lil bit gory😅 Usually they both were visably misarable, mainly because they were starving most of the time, but one day the youngest started coming back happy, and looked well plenished. Which made the oldest sister suspicious of her younger sister. She came to the conclusion that her younger sister was eating well without her. Which made the oldest ferious. So out of pure rage, she ate her younger sister. Eventually after doing that horrible act, she found a secret stash of money hidden in the house that her younger sister saved for both of them. And the guilt came flooding to the elder sister. Because of all her guilt and her greed, a mouth grew in the back of her head. The mouth of her younger sister. She now has to feed the mouth or she will have horrible pain in her head. And her sister will screach and scream. The legend says, that if she is un able to satisfy her younger sisters hunger, her younger sister takes controll and hunts down humans to eat. This is most likely because of the older sister eating the younger one out of spite. I actually have no idea where i heard this version, but i did lol .
It is the best version I've heard so far! The bit about hunting people made me think of "no-face" from spirited away, when he turned into a monster and started eating everything.
I heard this version as well! I've also seen a game take on this story and when playing it the screeching heard from the mouth is quite unsettling while you can hear the eldest in agony. Unfortunate yet intriuging!
Yokai-inspired dolls are the best and this gal is no exception! She's beautiful! Also, fun fact: shark "teeth" are larger, sharper forms of their scales! She looks like a fashion model! Perhaps she's a warning sent to model agencies who mistreat their models during shoots? Or, after turning into a yokai, she joined a yokai-based fashion company to build representation for fellow yokai in a urban fantasy type story?
The idea with her being a warning is so cool! I genuinely would've never even thought of that but I think that's such an amazing idea that literally makes so so much sense
"I kinda feel like it makes sense for the shoes not to care about their dental hygiene." is not a sentence I expected to hear lol She's beautiful. Fantastic work.
I can imagine her as a serious character part of a main group from an anime, like they gotta hunt demons and such and whenever it's her time to fight her head turns backwards and her body moves like an animal's to fight off monsters. I imagine the animation for her first time turning being very smooth, showing off the bones dislocating and contorting so her devilish jaw can be in the front and her legs and arms move like a freak wolf running towards it's prey. She would be the reserved character who keeps her past to herself, the mysterious character in the group.
She’s stunning.I love all the detail you put into each doll, and the creepy mouth on the back of her head sure is what nightmares are made of,but so well sculpted.I like her hair style,it’s perfect for her,and her clothes are so beautifully made and finish her perfectly. Those boots, wegll what a great find, fit your theme ,and look wonderful painted up..Great job 🥰
She is gorgeous, and I absolutely love the way you went about unifying her look, complete with the shoes (and your reasoning for making their teeth look more grimey was perfect, haha). The only thing that I would maybe, maaaybe change would be to give her thicker braids, and maybe six or eight of them, but this is just nitpicking; four thin braids are fine as well. She looks excellent!!
Thank you! I agree that she'd look better with slightly thicker braids, but that's the thing I realized only when the doll was done 🤣 such things are really hard to predict, but I think it will come with experience 😄
I love the take on Japanese folklore! One thing that might help with the wires in the braids. I've seen clay sculptures sand the wire that are going to show through on their sculpture and then paint it the desired color. Then the wire doesn't show through.
Hiiiiiiii!!!!!! I'm so happy to see you again 🤗 Thank you for the kind comment! I wish they had shoes like this in human size, I'd get myself a pair too 🤣
I am so in awe of your pattern-making, adjusting and sewing skills. I mean, the doll is lovely, and especially with that packet of chips she's kind of creepydorable, but the way you make your clothes is just chef's kiss!
She’s beauuuuutiful! So creepy and so pretty. I have to admit, I didn’t think the tiny, thin braids for the “hair tentacles” would look good, but they really do! Nice.
oh i got SO EXCITED when i saw this repaint recommended to me, yokai are one of my FAVORITE things and this futakuchi-onna girl came out STUNNING!!! i do love the added idea that she may be a street artist and think it might be why she became a futakuchi-onna, bc she was neglecting her health so the curse manifested as a punishment
I can feel your positive energy through my screen as I read this 😁😁 thanks a lot for your support 🙏🏻 I almost finished my second yokai, and seeing that this topic is so interesting for others makes me happy and motivated too 💖

I'm just amazed by this, she's absolutely incredible. But I couldn't leave without saying that a good tip for the braids with the wire, would be painting the wires black, it would hide completely. But it's just a thing that I thought while watching, cause everything ended amazing

Oh thank you so much for your trust! I've read your comment 3 times and it made me smile every time 😊 I found a shop that sells only Japanese fabrics and sewing supplies and every now and then I'm checking if they've got anything fitting for dolls. I've got 4 different fabrics for now, including this Yagasuri. Stocked up well for my Japanese series 😈

I recently like to use can primers like Vallejo Hobby Paint if I want to change the skin color and never yet had problems with drawing on it with pencils :) Maybe it will work for you too if you'll want to try it out :) Still, you did great here without it, so that's just a small tip :P
"It felt so wrong, it felt so right Don't mean I'm in love tonight" 😆😆😆 Could be that it didn't go well because I applied the paint not smooth enough. 👀
@@DollAfterlife With the primers you just need less coats (one or two), so it's not that easy to scratch it with pencils :) And - since they are canned - there's no brush strokes! Perfectly smooth surfaces ^_^
@@DollAfterlife I use it as a base. If I want to achieve a totally different color than original plastic or to even the colors of plastic and apoxie on body mods. oooh i hope it does become a series, if it does may i suggest yuki onna as a future Japanese folklore doll recreation? its one of my favorite tales and the first japanese horror story i read when i was a child.
She looks great! This is my first video of yours, and as soon I watched you sculpt the mouth I subscribed! I love how demure she looks while she has a giant mouth on the back of her head! I like the background you made up a lot! I wonder if her hair tentacles could help her out in her street art! One holding a spray paint can or something like that!
Nice to meet you!!!! 😊 thank you for the kind words, i think it would be really handy for her to use the hair tentacles to hold some art supplies, like paint water or brushes as well. Or if it's a big art, may be even to climb!
My first thought is imagine this person is human at first, then through events not of their own making and living a hard life find themselves cursed with a second mouth and thrown into the unknown world of the yoki to find that it's similar, yet different, to the world they once knew. They find themselves chipping a tooth on the back of their head, causing them pain when they eat, and have to find a yoki dentist to help them, though spend the whole sesson on their back while the yoki dentist and their assistant help this uncertain new yoki with their new mouth.
she turned out so cool! the futakuchi-onna and kuchisake-onna are two of my fave yokai and I love your interpretation of her 😊 also, how did the enamel paint hold up? I’ve always been curious how long it takes to chip compared to acrylic paint and layers of chalk pastels 👀
Hello! First of all, thank you very much for the kind words 💖 In my experience enamel paint holds way longer and stronger, than any other mediums I tried. On my borg queen and Nakime dolls it's still in the perfect state. However, if a joint is too tight, it might get scratched off immediately, but only in that one particular spot. For example on my Malenia doll I used enamel paint on her metal arm and one of the legs. The other arm and leg were blushed with pastels. Enamel paint got only one scratch on the knee, because there's too much friction (can be fixed with sanding though). The joints I blushed with pastels look as if they were never blushed 🥲 but it's okay because I didn't change her skin tone 😁. The only problems I see with enamel paint is that there's way less colors available and you need to buy a thinner for it.
Omgg this looks so good and it kinda reminds me of Tomie by Junji Ito, it would be so cool to see any Junji ito character in doll format I’d be totally here for it!!! :)
She could be a girl who came from a poor family and when she turned 10, she was adopted by distant relatives. When she turned 16 she ran away from home and lived on the street for a long time. After a few years she got a job and the mouth behind her head started to develop and the young woman started to wear a hood to hide her mouth. The young woman swore to herself that she would protect poor young women from bad people. what do you think ? I hope you liked it, and that it was good.
I LOVE THIS! You never go for the easy or predictable option, and I love that. My favourite parts were her wired plaits, her second mouth and the fact that her boot-teeth don't care about dental hygiene. I dont know why - but that comment really made me laugh. Great job, my friend. :)
I’m obsessed with your videos!!!! She came out amazing. You make me really wanna get into dollmaking. Have you thought about making a discord for dollmaking?

In my experience enamel paint holds way longer and stronger, than any other mediums I tried.

It's a sign. Make 10 more dolls like that.
And I agree 😁
Next time working with hair. Might be best to blend in the wire by using the same colour for both the hair and the wire.
Yes, you are right 👍🏻
Omgg this looks so good and it kinda reminds me of Tomie by Junji Ito, it would be so cool to see any Junji ito character in doll format I’d be totally here for it!!! :)
Ooh true!!! Tomie would be such an interesting project! Connecting 2 faces together 😈
@@DollAfterlife you should totally make a Tomie doll!!!
@@momogonzales7182 I think so too😂
I like this
This is in the mimic in roblox and the movie
She looks amazing and super creepy!!
I like it 😊
I LOVE THIS! You never go for the easy or predictable option, and I love that. My favourite parts were her wired plaits, her second mouth and the fact that her boot-teeth don't care about dental hygiene. I dont know why - but that comment really made me laugh. Great job, my friend. :)
Thank you very much for all of the support and inspiration you give me! I really appreciate that 🤗💖
I’m obsessed with your videos!!!! She came out amazing. You make me really wanna get into dollmaking. Have you thought about making a discord for dollmaking?
Thank you for the kind words! What kind of content would you like to see on discord?
