I put the 1200W together for my grandson’s birthday. He will not get it for another week. It was a little different from the one put together in the video, but the video was very helpful. I have a question…the switch for the light and the horn came assembled and attached to the bike. I only attached the light and “plugged” it into what was on the bike. Problem: The horn button and light button are backwards/crisscrossed. The horn stays on when you push the light button and the light blinks and does not stay on when the horn button is pushed.
Hello B Rich, I just received my Ridstar Q20 and it is limited to 11mph. I set all my P settings to what you have in the video. Is there a white single wire that needs to be disconnected on the motor controller - like a speed limiter wire?
I did change the setting to 20 amps. I figured it out. The PSA setting was on 1, I changed it to 5 and now I have full speed. Got it to 31 mph, woohoo! Thanks for your settings video, it helped a bunch 👍👍👍
I've been looking at this bike on allibaba express for a while wondering if it was safe to order. I'm astounded because even your box looks in solid condition. Thanks very much for this video. ❤
Yes, but make use to order the version with 20Ah battery. The cheaper 15Ah version not worth the $100 saving as it has smaller screen & battery and brakes are not hydraulic
Hi I bought the Q20 Ridstar , the chain seems a bit close to the tire , it’s about a 1/2 inch from back tire, is that normal. Actually a video how to adjust would be helpful. Thanks for your help.
I just got my bike and I’m on boxing it right now. The only problem I’m having is with the front tire assembly because one of the tire bolts is stripped and I really don’t want to try to force it onto the tire hub and possibly strip out that thread, but when I’m noticing too, is this really not a lot of thread room to put those bolts on, I think they should’ve just added like a 1/4 of an inch more of length as I tighten a bolt it pulls the axle towards it. Poor oversight. I’m gonna have to go to the hardware store and see if I can find a match to the rounded nut. If not, I gotta go through a bunch of crap to try to get them to send me a replacement through Amazon which kind of stinks, but I’m still not comfortable with the length of the axle. I’m wondering if I can find something that would be a little bit longer, otherwise I don’t feel I’m gonna get the front tire on tight enough and I really don’t feel that it’s safe
@@BRichSolution I went to the hardware store and just got the hundred millimeter nut that was open ended it wasn’t stainless steel because they didn’t have any so I’m thinking maybe I’ll just try to find those plastic nut covers they sell(😂) and keep it from rusting or buy som plastidip spray to cover it today is the maiden voyage hope I don’t lose the tire n crash.
@@StefMan30 They work now. Your wheel is probably facing the wrong side. It wants stupid mistake I did at first. Once it’s facing the correct side just try to fit the disk on wheel inside the break pad. If it doesn’t fit use a knife or something you can squeeze inside to make the breaks open up more.
So I’ve been doing my research for the past two weeks now I wanna save gas and buy myself a commuter starter bike. It would be my first time owning an electric bike and I’m just curious after watching all these videos. What would you prefer a person that knows absolutely nothing about putting together and maintaining an electric bike, would you say get one with a hydraulic Brake system or a mechanical disc brake system?
Fantastic video. I have a question. The light and horn buttons on mine are the wrong way around. The horn button turns the lights on. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks again

Thing is it's pretty difficult to find ebikes for sale in the UK. Nearly everyone I liked was sold in the States but not here in the UK. Was over the moon to finally find one I liked for sale in the UK!
hey, i have this same bike but i changed a couple settings and now I only go 29mph, before that I could get 33.4mph, I really need to see the standard settings for this bike could anyone help me?
I will do a video of settings this weekend. The Speedometer may have read 33mph but doubtful the bike can do 32 mph with controller is limited to 20 amp output. I will post video of speed test and validate speed with GPS telemetry data said 31 mph and speedometer read 33
Ok so I ran a test with the settings you have. Didn’t make a difference so idk what should be done now. When I did do another test, I also tested the top speed of each wheel motor and with both motors again. When the rear motor is running on its own, it can reach a top speed of 30 mph. However, the front motor can only reach 28 mph. When both motors are on, it can reach at most 31 mph. These speeds were collected with a GPS speedometer and on PAS 5. So based off what I’ve done so far, I can only assume the reason for the bike being limited is either because of the controller under the seat is defective/not the right controller for my dual motor e bike or maybe even a wire or something in relation to that is limiting the speed. Do you think this can be the case for my e bike? As I know some e bikes can have a wire that needs to be cut in order to unlock it. In addition, you mentioned a couple of comments ago about my motors being maxed? Can you please explain more what you meant by that? Thanks again for the continued help.
Yes something is not adding up. Can you remove the seat and test the controllers output to front and rear motor is 30A and 52-58V? How heavy is bike with dual motors and batteries close to 100lbs? Each hub motor has gears internally see this link electricallwheel.com/ebike-motor-gear-replacement-bafang-g360/ Hub motor could be restricted top speed if internal gearing is not capable of higher speeds. There could be power restriction in the motor also. Example i have is my friend ordered same yolin dual battery ebike that i have but with bafang 1000w motor and the bike was 2-3 mph slower then mine with xiongda 1000w motor. Manufacturer sent nee controller and not much changed. Frustrated he ordered same bike with xiongda motor and the bike is same speed as mine
Hello is there any website showing any customisation people may have made regarding Q20? Also will changing the 1000w 48v 20a e-bike controller to a 48v 25a or 52v 25a make any difference to top speed? If so can someone link me to a good controller to buy in UK. Also the multi colour chains you can buy for Super73 would any of them work with this e-bike? In general are there any must have upgrades you really recommend forQ20. Thanks
If your going to customize Q20 or X20 by going to 52V the price go up and IMO not worth the higher price when you can buy the dual battery Yolin for the same prices with 52V batteries thay are larger capacity, motor is faster and frame is aluminum vs q20 is steel. The yolin is faster then super 73 ua-cam.com/video/y3XJkRnppJ0/v-deo.html
Sir I need help. My partner has a bike like this. He is having issues with the wire that is on the side where the chain is down by that area (right side). hello i love the videos just discovered your account, im gonna be buying one soon and u helped me choose wich one i hope i can asemble it. otherwise ill watch one of your videos! cant wait to be going 40 on a bike
I wouldn’t leave in the charger all night. Most ebike battery fires are due to thermal runaway when bike is left on charger. I use a timer or wifi timer to shut the charger off after 3-6 hours
buy air fork; the one in this video will fit and the procedure is the same except even easier as none of the cables route thru the crown so there is nothing to cut. ua-cam.com/video/mbCBl9HIH3M/v-deo.html
Ok, bought Happyrun G50 - its comfortable, but less torque and top speed it struggles. Amyet G60 is my favorite as it has the torque and good top speed high bmx handlebar, rear footpegs, great display and pedaling is actually great. Which brings me to my Ridstar Q20 with 20 ah. It Looks the best, is the fastest. I think pedaling on it is terrible and the handlebars are very low. I prefer the higher handlebars to have that comfort. I assume this was intentionally done by Ridstar to go with a little more of a dirt bike look. I'm going to eventually modify these with faster motors etc..
Is the lever easy squeezed all the way down and pads did not engage rotor? If so maybe forgot to put hydraulic fluid in the brake lines? You will need to bleed brake lines and fill with mineral oil or take to local bike shop they can bleed lines in 10 minutes
I noticed it's only the front break there is no compression with the front break could it be I didn't but it in the caliper properly or most likely just needs breaks blead
the 20Ah battery is 15" long, 3.75" wide and 4.3" tall. The 52V 24Ah battery will be the size only taller probably 6" and will fit in the frame; you might have to use the mount that comes with the new battery

My Q20 delivered yesterday and I noticed mine came with only 1 wrench in the box, not 2 like in this video but, they included a quick release skewer which I also didn't see in this video. It also came with a quick release axle in the box. Yours is assembled using the nuts and washers that come directly off of the wheels but this one has this part included. I dont know if that's considered an upgrade or a cheaper/more faulty option? 1st ebike problems 😅 The battery did come fully charged though.🏆
Not worries you can source a larger battery from Amazon or Aliexpress as linked below: amzn.to/3XLf1KK It maybe cheaper to buy a second 10ah battery and add it the 15ah battery see my video of adding extra battery to Q20 FYI - 20ah version Q20 has hydraulic & bigger screen
can you do and review on the Ridstar q2 its and 2000 watt 52v 40 Ah e bike on amazon it's and dual motor and dual battery setup that that claims to have over 75 miles of throttle range an goes 35 mph

I hope you dont' need to deal with customer service in the coming weeks or months. Its HORRIBLE! Don't expect to speak to anyone on the phone. Its only email to china. Then you might regret getting this bike. Its fun when it runs but if it breaks down its a nightmare..
@@proudbirther1998 ahh no. What happened to yours? U get it resolved? Yeah I had a scooter that I had to deal with a company like that you have to get tough with them before they actually do anything I ended up sending the scooter back just because I didn't want it and they basically begged me to keep it but I didn't want it they did refund my money though
@@JHOFF111 One day the bike stopped working. Communication with the company in China was basically receiving an email from one of their reps or techs and they would have you test different electrical devices on the the bike ie Lights Tail LIghts Brake Lights by disconnecting different wires and then you had to email them back with your findings. They they would send you another email and test some other connection and if some part turned on or remained off. I understand the concept of following a flow chart to narrow down a problem but its a very slow process. In following one of their instructions to test something we inadvertently discovered the cause of the problem. It turned out to be a simple fix and not electrical. Our issue turned out to be a sensor in the Brake Handle. Kind of reminds you of a Ball point pen that you have to push down to get the writing tip to come out the other end . In the normal Brake handle position this little plunger tip is pushed in. When you squeeze the brake lever it creates a gap where this plunger can extend and this sends a signal to apply the brake. Somehow this sensor had slightly backed out of its houseing so to the controller it appeared the brake was on. This one thing prevented the bike /throttle from working. After pushing this sensor tight into the housing it worked. There is NO TELLING HOW LONG it would have taken for this issue to be resolved doing one email a day with the company. That said the bike is a good bike and fun to ride.

Did you change p14 to 20 amps?
See this video for settings. Should be no wire to cut

Can you make sure the transmission (2 smaller wheels) in the back in chain is operating properly and move them back and forth until chain tightens up
If u buy a tire liner for the inner tube. Can you still apply a tire sealant ?
Yes
Good idea
@@BRichSolution I went to the hardware store and just got the hundred millimeter nut that was open ended it wasn’t stainless steel because they didn’t have any so I’m thinking maybe I’ll just try to find those plastic nut covers they sell(😂) and keep it from rusting or buy som plastidip spray to cover it today is the maiden voyage hope I don’t lose the tire n crash.

hey, i have this same bike but i changed a couple settings and now I only go 29mph, before that I could get 33.4mph, I really need to see the standard settings for this bike could anyone help me?
The yolin is faster then super 73 ua-cam.com/video/y3XJkRnppJ0/v-deo.html

also, is it safe to leave the battery on the charger all night? and is that also allowed while it is attached to the bicycle?
I wouldn’t leave in the charger all night. Most ebike battery fires are due to thermal runaway when bike is left on charger. I use a timer or wifi timer to shut the charger off after 3-6 hours
