Something interesting is at 2:30-2:40 or so... you can see Pau start drumming with 1 hand because she reaches behind her back to adjust the mix of her IAMs... without missing a single beat or interrupting her singing. It's ... amazing.
This is the Prologue to *Queen of the Murder Scene,* an EPIC rock novel in four chapters of three songs each. It is an absolute mind-warp that it was written, composed, performed, and independently recorded by three young teenagers, and released via crowd funding. They released it in November of 2018 when they were 18, 16, and 13. The celebratory release concert video is THE WARNING FULL LUNARIO CONCERT 2018, where they perform the entire QOTMS and a few songs from their first album. It is raw, dark, deeply emotional, and a little rough, but full of unforgettable moments. They tell the story of a young girl who is obsessed with loving a person who totally ignores her. It is a tragedy, told both tenderly and loudly. Whether you react to it or just listen to it for fun, don't miss it!
The male Spanish part is their manager Rudy, playing the part of the priest at the funeral of the Queen (of the Murder Scene). Fun fact: he also plays a priest in their latest official music video Qué Más Quieres, their third fully Spanish song, from their upcoming (June 28, 2024) 4th album Keep Me Fed.
Agreed, Andrea, that these "girlies" are tremendously talented. If you really want to see Pau do her thing, check out the song "23" from Teatro Metropolitan. Pau is the lead singer - while drumming - and her vocal technique cries pain, loneliness and guilt while she sings about loving someone who doesn't love you back (or doesn't even know you exist) with unique and intelligent lyrics. A real Pau-er ballad. Also, they just released the music video for Que Mas Quieres, not from a live concert but where the three of them are acting, and Pau was co-director. Done in the style of a telenovela.
Andrea, thanks for another entertaining reaction and analysis to The Warning. I think vocalists, when singing in a language which is not their native language, are conscious of enunciating each word. Pau is an awesome vocalist and runs on a treadmill while singing to have the endurance to sing while drumming.
I've had the pleasure of hearing this twice on their European tour in the last 10 days and all the comments I read about how even the best professional live recordings don't do justice to experiencing it yourself are absolutely true! Go see them live when you get the chance, not only are they fantastic musicians but also endlessly entertaining to watch onstage. You have plenty of good suggestions already so 'watch it all' get's my vote!
Ale, your favorite, gets credit for creating this epic song when she was just 11 or 12 years of age. First performing this live at the Lunario CDMX in 2018 when she was just 13. Very fitting she starts the song. Not seen here, but in every performance of Dust to Dust Dany sets the stage. Just before Pau sings, Dany takes a bow, points at Pau and passes the stage to her! The Spanish backing vocals is their manager Rudy. In earlier performances Rudy joins them on stage in the role of a preacher, preaching to the audience. To see the ‘complete’ presentation of Dust to Dust and the album Queen of the Murder Scene, see the Lunario 2018 concert. They were younger, raw, but with all the intensity and ferocity they have to this day!
They have an extended ending to this song now that runs straight into dull knives when they do it live. Its really cool. I saw them perform it 3 days ago in London.
As mentioned, Rudy does the track of the preacher doing the sermon and did do it live onstage a couple of times. Pau mentions in a vlog or interview somewhere that they went to the track for a couple of different reasons. The first obviously being the logistics of Rudy coming onstage and doing it live every performance would be difficult. The second and likely equally valid reason is that Pau said that Rudy, not being necessary a seasoned performer, struggled with being on time which is very important for them in the context of the song especially for that section.
Yeah, I believe it was one of the performances at the whisky that Rudy did it live there and no offense to Rudy but it’s pretty obvious why they do it tracked now lol. Poor guy was trying but oh man.
@@paleopashaRudy had a slight stumble on their first show at the Whiskey and he noticed Dany stifling a laugh. He didn’t want them to have any distractions so he stayed behind the curtain for their second show and they’ve been using his track since.
Pau wrote the lyrics and the baseline on the piano, but Ale made the song an epic experience. Dany and Pau have often talked about the story of how the song came about and Ale's significant influence on it. In a nutshell, Dany and Pau say "It's Ale's baby, she makes this song epic" but unfortunately it gets forgotten. 🥺😪🥺
They have such stable and powerful vocals and they are clearly born performers. This was one of my fave songs that I saw live ♥️ they're all so in sync with each other and have such amazing stage presence. Love them!
The have 3 songs in Spanish, Narcisista, Matirio, and the new release Que Mas Quieres. The music video for Que Mas Quieres just came out last week. Ale will also sing lead when Dany is sick or needs a break. Unfortunately, there are only fan cams of Ale singing lead.
Great reaction and for more Pau check out Revenant from the same concert. Amazing group vocals. Also their new music video for Que Mas Quieres is huge fun (written and co-directed by Pau)!
Pau was Drumeo's rock drummer of the year for 2023. She's incredibly talented. Watch Pau sing 23 and Narcisista when she comes out from behind the kit. She's so powerful.
"Relentless" is a great description of this song. It's been over five years and it's still my favorite of theirs. I love how they use different combinations of their three voices at different times. Ale wrote the basic music for this song at, like, age 12. Yeah. Damn.
Pau's dead-on beat in her singing always makes me think that she's using her voice as a drum instrument. The girls (women now) started early collaborating on every element of a song as they carefully built it from it's into to it's outro. Each nuance and subtle variation over the course of every song is intentional and, frankly, brilliant. That being said, the bass riff that starts this song was apparently created by Ale when she was something like 10 or 11. I got to see them live in Toronto on August 13, 2023 and I agree with everyone who says the energy they create live is even more than comes across in their live videos. I'm 74 now and I've been to a number of concerts going back to the days of the Maple Leaf Gardens and this ranked up there with the best of them.
About English vs. Spanish lyrics- The Warning chose to sing mostly in English and have occasionally had to deal with criticism for that choice. They are bilingual and the Rock Music they grew up listening to was sung in English. Also, English is spoken across much of the world as a second language, so to reach the widest possible audience it makes sense. Their most recent concerts include 3 sung in Spanish.
I don't speak Spanish at all (aside from counting 1-10, and saying "Que pasa?"), but I'd be all-in if they were to release a full-on Spanish album. But who am I kidding? They could do an album in Pig-Latin and I'd have my pre-order in...
You need to see them live if you can Andrea, it's incredible the sound they create with just 3 of them. Love your voice and music, sounds so good, do you perform live and if so where? Keep up the great reviews. 🤟
Drummer knowing how to make strong entrances seems like par for the course :). Love the dynamics between the siblings when they rotate around who's taking lead on singing a song. Amazing band, I can't wait to see what else they do in the future
Thanks for a great reaction! Appreciate your breakdown of the singing and yes the “girlies” are excellent. “what other The Warning to watch”, you said: I say, since you like Ale, check out AMOUR from Teatro -great song and the bass line all the way through is super. Looking forward to the next one.
Pau's drum teacher would make her sing while playing to help her practice her coordination. That's how she became so good at it. There are videos in their youtube channel of her at 11 years old playing drums while singning. She's amazing.
I’ve said it before on other reaction videos, they are three bad ass, beautiful, talented musicians but on stage there are actually six instruments because each of their voices are instruments as well! Just Awesome!
I was never a huge fan of hard rock going back to the '70s. But after discovering the warning 3 years ago, I am now a fan of theirs! I also loved your guitar and vocal introduction. Great job!
Hi Andrea, great reaction! You have to give it to Pau she’s definitely the real deal, drumming the way she does and singing and in this case at 7,200 ft above sea level! For future reactions, there’s been a couple of new releases from the new album - Automatic Sun (a live performance but overdubbed with the studio recording!) and Qué más quieres - a fun video conceived and co directed by Pau; both are outstanding!
Paulina has a natural, unique timbre to her voice. She does a cover of Radiohead "Creep" and she sings lead on the songs "23" and "Revenant" in this concert and "Narcisista" from the Foro Didi concert from 2019, the premiere of the song, which is in Spanish. Consider the newest single releases, "Hell You Call A Dream" live from the Pepsi Center CDMX and "Automatic Sun" performance from the Tecate Pa'l Norte Festival in Monterrey, MX their hometown. 13 year old Paulina performs the song "Escape the Mind", the title track from their EP, in front of her school mates in 2015: ua-cam.com/video/wtRLmnQ9-Cc/v-deo.htmlsi=2gS6ldaCe2Th5zMb
The power note from Dany accompanied by that amazing fill from Pau is one of the most epic endings to a song. I never tire of it. And yep, the way they enunciate their words while singing is one of the many great things about them. As far as next reaction, one of my favorite songs from this same concert is "Animosity" or if you want really to hear them rock, the song "Z" from the same. If you want to hear them in a different concert, then "Hell You Call a Dream" live from the Pepsi Center. Editing to add that if you really want to be blown away by Pau's singing then "Revenant" from this concert is a must.
You should look up some of the older clips of Ale singing Hunter. She covered for Dany on vocals during part of a tour a few years back. Yep, it's not just two singers in the band! Though Ale prefers to not sing lead, and therefore doesn't often.
During a very detailed interview Paulina described that they actually all hear the click of a metronome in one of their ears during live performances as well as in the recording studio, its second nature now and they almost don’t hear it as they are so used to it playing, that’s why their timing is impeccable.
Born Dec1963 .... we have always got bombarded by male leads , solo/bands .... so much female talent was overlooked and did not get their recognition from the 1920s/30s/40s/50s , then we had Mama Cass / Janis Joplin .... R.I.P.
I so appreciate and respect your observations and the things you pointed out about them! You truly appreciate the technicality and talent and the balance they have with one another for the three of them to go so hard and sound soooo huge! They’re truly incredible ❤️🔥🤘🏽⚡️
They are bilingual (taught in school) and the fact that they sing in English isn't from encouragement but because it came naturally to them. They grew up listening to American rock and roll with their rocker parents, especially dad. They would watch classic rock concerts on television as a family. They do have 3 songs in Spanish to this day. Loved your music analysis and some of the details that you pointed out. Thanks!
You hit it on the spot there Andrea in pointing out that Pau is focused on every word. The big money is selling out concerts and not selling records, so they are focusing on what's most pleasing to bigger and bigger audiences. 🐝🐝
*Dust to Dust* is the prologue song on DPA/TW's _"Queen of the Murder Scene"_ concept album (aka QOTMS)... it is inviting you in to hear the deep, dark, and foreboding story of a young woman apparently in love with someone that doesn't even know she exists... it is a story about how well things can appear to be going and how fast it can all fall apart... it follows her battles between good and evil over her soul... the Spanish speaking part is their manager, Rudy, playing the part of a preacher at the funeral... translated to English, this is what he says... Brother! Salvation is something that is earned! Let go of your hand of resentment and Wake up to a new light within you Although your brothers try Plunge into the darkness DPA/TW's _"Queen of the Murder Scene"_ is one of those concept albums best experienced by listening to it from beginning to end in order... listening to each of the songs piecemeal and out of order is like trying to figure out a movie by catching a portion near the end, one from near the beginning, and one near the middle... yeah, it won't work out very well... their performance of it at Lunario was the first time the album was presented in full to the public... it had been released over time in chapters of three songs each and the last three songs were presented here to complete the album... i like Lunario because it was the first public performance, the animations on the big screen behind Pau, and the girls were in character... others prefer their presentation of QOTMS at another venue for various reasons... as a concept album, many of us members of TWA can easily see QOTMS as a movie or Broadway stage performance... it is that good and to think it was written by them at a very young age and released as their 2nd album! i mean... whoa! who does that?? 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
For another young band to check out, listen to Canadian teen band, Freeze the Fall, and their song *Daughters of Witches.* They are another bass, guitar, drums power trio, just starting out. They just got signed by a small label.
The Warning is Best band that has emerged in the 21st century. Masters of their instruments, great performers, interpreters, composers, top work ethics and integrity. And they are young and gorgeous. Que más quieres?
Nice Reaction! These young ladies will never fail to surprise you with something they do during a song. Like Acoustic? Same Concert (Teatro) and the song is called Revenant and they are sitting in chairs at the front of the stage. Pau sings lead again (and is great again!) and they have a guest musician with them, but the harmonies that Ale and Dany provide are just unworldly.
You should check out Band Maid sometime! Both bands are big fans of each other I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
I really enjoy this version great ending to another banger from TW at this show. Pau's killer fills while Dany's belting is sick and of course Ale's bassline is so strong throughout. Great reaction thank you love this band. 🔥⚡
For those of you who just came to know The Warning and have come to love them, I would encourage you to watch their "Quarantine Show" video. You would really enjoy watching them put on the concert in their basement during covid.
The issue of Spanish vs. English is not a trivial topic. They always sang in English because they grew up listening to AC/DC, Queen, Pink Floyd, Guns & Roses, etc. They took heat from certain Mexican critics, calling them traitors and such. Pau shot back at the critics with a harsh song in Spanish called Narcissista with basic told them to F off. We all love that song, I'm sure you'll love it too. They just did another Spanish song and released a super fun video for it called Que Mas Quieres (What More Do You Want)
These 3 sisters are all equally and insanely talented. No shame in gushing on Pau. Have a full gush on Pau performing 23 at the same concert. Thanx for the cool reaction. 🤟
Songs which I think you will love which reflect your own style of music are some of Pau’s first written and performed music on the keyboards or piano Black Holes - about problems of addiction Escape the Mind Show me the Light Breathe - about a personal tragedy in her life These 4 songs are so moving and emotional that many people are reduced to tears. Let me know which of your songs/albums that you think I should check out.
🇲🇽 Magnifico análisis de dust to dust de las bellas Mexicanas The Warning y tienen varias canciones en inglés por reaccionar en el Metropolitan de México capital 🇲🇽😍👍❤️ saludos bella.
Ale was 12 or younger when she composed the bass lines for this song. As for adding in the Spanish, all three were brought up bilingual. Pau has picked up a few words of other languages while on tour. As I understand it, early on, they also studied French in school. They say that they compose in English because it is generally easier for them to arrange the music around the lyrics. But they have written three songs in Spanish that are crowd favorites wherever they perform. When they compose in Spanish they usually have their mother check over the grammar to make sure what they wrote makes sense.
Great observations, and musical insights. I enjoyed your song. People who’ve told u 2 watch this concert are spot on. The performance; sound , outfits, lighting are all high level. 🤘🕊❤️🤘 ⚡️⚡️⚡️Also, your name is a great name / stage name whichever it is. 🤘💫
Pau also sings Narcisista. In one video from this concert the drum teacher plays the drums so Pau can be a front woman for the song and run around ha ha. Enjoyed your reaction. Thanks for sharing.
Of all The Warning songs, Dust to Dust is my personal favorite. And this performance takes it to the next level. Pau is without question the greatest Singing Drummer I’ve ever heard. She is such a little dynamo performing behind that kit. Check out Pau’s version of Radioheads Classic song, Creep. No drums, just pure Pau playing piano, in front of her iPhone camera. She brings tears to this old man’s eyes every time. 🎶💖🎶💖🎶💖
For some more amazing female guitar playing you should check out the band Lovebites (try ‘Holy War’ live from Tokyo ZeppDiverCity, or maybe ‘ A Frozen Serenade’ Live 2021 and we will encourage you back to the electric guitar eventually)
We're loving The Warning. There are a lot of great songs to listen to. I want to once again suggest Band-Maid. The Warning are going to Japan in June to do a couple shows with the Maids in June. Band-Maid Domination Live or Hate? live are 2 suggestions although you can't pick a bad song from the maids.
@Andrea - I love that you clued in on the seamless transition from Pau's last notes into Dany's finale vocals...but you need to realize that they have performing this song since 2018! This is a well honed performance!! Love and Aloha! #APDVillaReality
For more of Pau singing while playing the drums check out: 23, Survive, Narcisista (En Vivo), The End. For Pau singing while NOT playing the drums: Revenant, Narcisista (Teatro Metropolitan).
Check out my music: bit.ly/StreamPainting
Also please let me know what else I should watch 🥰
I just listened to The Volt Sessions on Spotify. Good stuff!
You should check out one of Pau’s other solos from the same concert. 23. It’s beautiful.

Check out Pau's cover of Radiohead "Creep" just her and their home piano. It was a challenge from their patreons. Amazing singing.
Another song where Pau shines is the song "23" highly recommended.

this is mexico city. it is harder to sing or do sport at that altitude unless you are born or live there for a while.

I agree, they are all pretty, but Ale is beyond, she looks like a Wonder Woman, so gorgeous and so powerful at the same time with her Thunder bass!!!!
Amazing band live! Love this song live and I'm so glad they keep performing it live!
This is the song that got me hooked and became my all-time favorite band.
Great reaction Andrea to what I consider the best Rock band on the Planet...always love your singing as well. More Warning please.
feel free to listen to my music! bit.ly/StreamPainting
Let go of your hand of resentment and
Wake up to a new light within you
Although your brothers try
Plunge into the darkness
DPA/TW's _"Queen of the Murder Scene"_ is one of those concept albums best experienced by listening to it from beginning to end in order... listening to each of the songs piecemeal and out of order is like trying to figure out a movie by catching a portion near the end, one from near the beginning, and one near the middle... yeah, it won't work out very well... their performance of it at Lunario was the first time the album was presented in full to the public... it had been released over time in chapters of three songs each and the last three songs were presented here to complete the album... i like Lunario because it was the first public performance, the animations on the big screen behind Pau, and the girls were in character... others prefer their presentation of QOTMS at another venue for various reasons...
as a concept album, many of us members of TWA can easily see QOTMS as a movie or Broadway stage performance... it is that good and to think it was written by them at a very young age and released as their 2nd album! i mean... whoa! who does that?? 😹
TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
For another young band to check out, listen to Canadian teen band, Freeze the Fall, and their song *Daughters of Witches.* They are another bass, guitar, drums power trio, just starting out. They just got signed by a small label.
THANK YOU for the suggestion! I checked them out and they rock! Fans of The Warning always seem to have stellar suggestions!
4:17 That melody reminds me sooo much of System of a Down, they did those kind of harmonies a lot!
Andrea... Great review!...
thanks! hope you got to see the video in Sick as well
@@AndreaSilvestroPlease react on "HEARTFELT" song by hommie dilliwala...
One of the best reactions I’ve experienced. You have an incredible voice
thanks! feel free to check out my music bit.ly/StreamPainting
The Warning is Best band that has emerged in the 21st century. Masters of their instruments, great performers, interpreters, composers, top work ethics and integrity. And they are young and gorgeous. Que más quieres?
Their Spanish songs are very good, my favorite is Martirio. I love the video clip but nothing beats their live performance.
Both bands are big fans of each other
I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
I really enjoy this version great ending to another banger from TW at this show. Pau's killer fills while Dany's belting is sick and of course Ale's bassline is so strong throughout. Great reaction thank you love this band. 🔥⚡
Pau is like the drummer in the Eagles, who also sings great'''
Luv yur reaction, check out “Survive” from same concert where Pau and Dany exchange lead vocals
For those of you who just came to know The Warning and have come to love them, I would encourage you to watch their "Quarantine Show" video. You would really enjoy watching them put on the concert in their basement during covid.
Is just the Pauwer !!!
SUBSCRIBED! Love tracking your reactions to The Warning! Check out the song, '23' from the same Teatro Metropolitan concert. Pau on lead vocals.
Songs which I think you will love which reflect your own style of music are some of Pau’s first written and performed music on the keyboards or piano
Black Holes - about problems of addiction
Escape the Mind
Show me the Light
Breathe - about a personal tragedy in her life
These 4 songs are so moving and emotional that many people are reduced to tears.
Let me know which of your songs/albums that you think I should check out.
Pau sings the whole song with her "sweet" voice in "23" from this same concert. I'm still listening to you on my playlist.
Buena reacción
Great reaction and by the way, you have a very nice singing voice. 😎👍
🇲🇽 Magnifico análisis de dust to dust de las bellas Mexicanas The Warning y tienen varias canciones en inglés por reaccionar en el Metropolitan de México capital 🇲🇽😍👍❤️ saludos bella.
aside from the fact that you are appealing to 2 of my senses, you also like my favourite band
Beauty and the Bass...
!!!The Warning = 100% 🔥🎵ole ole ole oleeee Warning Warning🎵¡¡¡. Greetings from Argentina.
Loved it! I can't remember if you watched Pau sing 23, or not. It's another great one, featuring her.
Прослушайте трио Круиз(именно трио)! Был другой состав, но менее успешный. Тоже великолепная рок-группа родом из СССР!
Pau also sings Narcisista. In one video from this concert the drum teacher plays the drums so Pau can be a front woman for the song and run around ha ha. Enjoyed your reaction. Thanks for sharing.
Spot on commentary!👍
Just a mind-blowing extra for these girls, Andrea, Ale wrote this song when she was 13.
Sarah Shook and the Disarmers
1st Your voice is really sweet, 2nd Ale is my favorite too and 3rd Nice reaction, really enjoyed. Greetings from Argentina
thanks! feel free to go stream my music: bit.ly/StreamPainting
Great reaction Andrea. The Warning keep going from strength to strength. What is my favourite track of theirs?......whichever one I heard last! 🙂
For me, trying to pick a favorite song of theirs is as impossible as trying to pick a favorite band member. I just can't do it!
thanks!
The Warning 😍
great reaction
Ale gives us a wink in the newest video. EVERYONE"S crush!
