I have been looking forward to this for awhile. Mine gets delivered tomorrow. Glad to see a suspension manufacture produce a product specifically for the Surron. I hope over time other manufactures step up and make a fork built, valved etc… for the bike. Look forward to your guys full ride and test review.
Hello! I want to ask you something, because I don't understand one thing: Why spring is so short, that you need to adjust collar (like in 4:40 in this video)? We do not use full travel of the suspension because too short spring? Can we order spring for whole travel of the rear shock?
No, the spring length does not affect shock travel. The shock body and shaft has a set amount of travel, called 'stroke'. The collar adjustment is to set preload and sag.
If you ride fast off-road then it's a night and day difference, ask anyone who has one. The adjustability is endless, from uber plush with anti-bottom out at the very end to super stiff for big jumps and anywhere in-between. They do not recommend using with 1.5 riser, but many people do.
We are working on an in-depth suspension review where we intend to have both of these rear shocks and TONS of front forks as well as inviting different skillset riders to give un-biased opinions on each unit...it's a lot of work to put together but we intend to do this very soon (this fall). FYI you must use the EBMX custom linkage with their shock to maintain full shock travel, wouldn't recommend using it with Warp9 or any other brand linkage.
The Talaria is using the same size shock and while we were filming this video the EXT guys had already purchased a Talaria and had a shock mounted to it.
The first 1/2 of our pre-order batch is in customers hands, the 2nd 1/2 of pre-orders is following soon. The next production run isn't scheduled until later this summer. Once we have more specific dates we will likely do another pre-sale for people to reserve them ahead of time.
The first production run was 100% sold out via pre-orders months ago. EXT has committed to having many more production runs and we will see more this summer, no dates yet, please use our notification button to know the second we list them: chargedcycleworks.com/products/ext-arma-rear-shock-for-sur-ron
The guys over at Warp9 have a custom avalanche and preferred the Arma MX after riding both back-to-back. I'm sure they are both great shocks but love that EXT is going all in and helping us push the SurRon market forward.
Great question, we have yet to get our hands on the full EBMX solution which includes a new linkage and extended swingarm. At this time we have seat time on the EXT Arma (mountain bike version) and loved it and we are dying to get out and ride the full ARMA MX version in this video and finally feel it with our Dorado up front for a proper full ride review. We've been so busy trying to get them out to customers we haven't even had time to install our own shocks and ride them!

we like the TRP brakes with 223 front rotor and metallic pads. The e-bike specific Galpher pads will also last longer. chargedcycleworks.com/collections/brake-upgrades-for-surron-segway

You will be stoked in the future on what EXT has coming😉

we had a little help on this one, maybe an interview for future work :). Thank you!

cant wait to order mine next week!!
Been having issues caint find happy spot did. Before now gone
Very nice looking shock! This will be my go to for sure 🙌
Is this compatible with Segway X260?
Yes it is, the X260 fits all of the same parts as the Light Bee.
does this REALLY make a difference though? it's only 8" of travel. Also, does this work with a 1.5 riser link?

How about doing a comparison video on the EBMX Rear Shocks? Running the Same Warp 9 Tringle and Rear Linkage? You guys stock both. How about it?

Dose it fit on triple x 🤔
It does! The triple x doesn’t have linkage and this shock will feel extremely stiff on that bike so be sure to get a lighter spring rate
Is Arma making these for the Talaria, or is it the same exact fit?
Price?
The Talaria is using the same size shock and while we were filming this video the EXT guys had already purchased a Talaria and had a shock mounted to it.
Have these started shipping yet

Curious how this compares to ohlins or a custom avalanche

i am wondering if this shock is better or not then the ebmx shock?
It is! Correct size, features that other shocks don't, low weight, purpose built for the application.
