@@storiax9331 well, none of the infighting would have happened if they had listened to Otto when he suggested Rhaenyra's betrothal to Aegon. Aegon would have turned out a better person in Rhaenyra's company and her kids' legitimacy would not be questioned. Otto's decisions seem cold and calculating when you look at them short-term, but they are actually better for the realm in the long-run. Marrying Jace to Halaena could have healed the rivalry a little bit but still it would not snuff out the possibility of war, but an Aegon-Rhaenyra marriage would have made sure that there was no rivalry in the first place.
It makes me think they could have been happy together if Alicent was not so resentful towards Rhaenyra.

Jacaerys Targaryen was the MVP of the dance of the dragons, everywhere he went people followed. The alliances he made endured even after his and his mothers dead. He still commanded respect from lord Stark even after the pact they made to marry Jace's first born daughter to Lord Cregan Stark's son and heir. That pact was null and void on account of Jace being dead. But lord Cregan Stark kept fighting in Rheanyra and Jace's name and I think that had alot to do with how lord Stark perceived Jacaerys Targaryen.
If there ever was a king more deserving to sit on the iron throne it was him.

But Starks would rather be in the North so once they believe their oaths are fulfilled and their duty is done, they give up that power and return north. House Stark is known for their honor to their oaths after all.
Rhaenyra raised her children so well. Well-behaved, humble, respectful, and loving to one another. Jace would have made the perfect Targaryen king.

I read some of Jace's actions during the Dance of Dragons. Dude was the morale booster of the Blacks. When he died, alot of them lost heart. I'm not sure if the show will follow the Dance 100% but I wonder if they'll have Jace survive or die how he did

- Alicent: That younger wife and evil stepmother who also had his own children
- Otto: The in-law who hates family gatherings but still attends without complaint
- Rhaenyra: the dear and only daughter who dislikes those gatherings but keeps attending because she loves her father
- Daemon: The uncle who gets along with most of his family but despises his in-laws
- Aegon: The oldest of all the grandsons, yet the most inmature and childish
- Aemond: The second older grandson who gets amused by provoking his cousins and fighting them
- Luke: The shy, yet smart grandson who will receive a big amount of support in his professional life
- Jace: The kind and most polite of all the grandsons
- Baela: The granddaughter who acts mature
- Helaena: The antisocial granddaughter whose hobbies are kinda weird
Viserys: the father that badly neglected Aegon, Aemond, Helaena and Daeron.
Alicent: woman that after being lied to by her friend that swore on her dead mother and having done her duty and cared for Viserys, keeps getting the end of the shortstick.
Otto: horrible man that manipulated everyone.
Rhaenyra: who gets to have everything despite not doing her duty and lying to everyone, including her father.
Daemon: a groomer that killed his first wife, doesn't take care of his daughters much.
Aegon: who's a horrid man and a warning in itself. Good tactician.
Aemond: who gets victim blamed by dumb fans that think being provoked over dinner table and having none of it is actually him provoking.
Luke: innocent looking boy, but was never reprimanded nor made to apologize for hurting Aemond forever. Gets amused by mocking Aemond who minds his own business at dinner table.
Jace: worthy of being a king in moral and duty sense, but not by claim.
Baela and Rhaena: badasses that truly deserve the throne, by claim and morality.
Helaena: the Dreamer who's badly neglected by her father, that could prevent the war if only he spent some time with her and realized she has powers he always wanted.
They’re good kids. Kind of ironic. Alicent is a good person but raised horrible children. Rhaenyra is deeply flawed but raised very good children.

People love Daemon for being a badass, and are shipping Daemon-Rhaenyra knowing that he groomed her when she was underaged, and the bullied kid (Aemond Targaryen) is in many ways a much better person than anyone on the "good side" and he is supposed to be the future villain of the story. There are people who say he deserved to be bullied and had his eye taken away for calling this guy a bastard (which he is). GRRM likes to bring out the biased nature of humanity in his fanbase this way. Just look at the other comments here, praising him and Daemon, you get the point.

I'm not very familiar with GRRM's work, I saw fanvideos from both GOT and HOTD, but I never started to watch either of the shows, because of violence and the nudity. These may seem weird reasons, but the nudity bothers me because of me beinga Christian and too much violence makes me feel uncomfortable. But I believe these shows are worth watching otherwise. And yes, I've seen comments praising him, that's also why I didn't really understand your comment. But now it's clear. Jace would have been the second coming of Jaehaerys. Yes, his features would calls to murmurs about his lineage, but he literally got Arrax. Doesnt get anymore Targaryen than that. (Reminds me of that one time the old king scare away someone just by feeding Vermithor) (spoiler alert) I cant wait to see how theyre gonna handle Sara snow in the upcoming season. She is pretty much inconsequential, so scraping her make sense especially after estabilishing how upright Jace is. Then again this show is full of boy meet girl, sleeps together, forget concequences (robb stark, jon snow). She could be the first time Jace choose something for himself instead of his duties, or the power of being, even contested, Prince of Dragonstone.
So, this part kinda annoyed me. How do they not know Valyrian? It's supposed to be their native language, and the Common Tongue of Westeros only their second language.
To be fair they do look like strong boys.

I have a crush on Aemond so I am biased in my dislike of the strong bastards. But they are well behaved. They didn't really give them personalities or appeal. They're just there. I felt more sad for lukes dragon. I didn't want Luke to die but I was like NOOOO not the dragon 😭

That's kind of how Robb Stark was in season 1. Just there without alot of personality. But then Robb became my favorite character.

2:43 you'll notice that in his small lisp when mentioning Aegon he really doesn't care about him and he really would have no problem killing but when he gulped and mentioned Aemond, he new that he was someone he really didn't want on his bad side. Sure luke took his eye and both cousins and nephews beat him up for taking vhagar but considering that other than daemon, Aemond is the last targarian anyone ever wants to be enemies with, you wouldn't blame him for being afraid of him...

I can’t believe they made the strong boys so lanky and scrawny looking. Harwin was a sturdy hearty man with a big body mass and tall. I would have never pictured his sons like this. They seem so short and small for their age. The way Aemond was able to push jace away was comical. The way they look u wouldn’t think they could win any fight let alone one with Alicent’s kids that have been trained with one of best swordsman and fighters at this time. They should have made it look somewhat even imo. I know they are still a bit young but jace the oldest is supposed to be like 19 maybe 20, at that age ur not going to have much more growing and definitely not any big growth Spurts that add height and mass. They looked heartier when they were younger. It just makes no sense why they would depict them this way story wise, because it doesn’t come out to a very compelling story knowing how it ends the first thing that comes into my mind was like well yeah of course they lost against Allison‘s kids.

Why it makes sense is that they are spoiled and coddled like their mother. Relying on the King and Daemon to defend them. Judging from Luke’s smirking at Aemond, they also seem to lack awareness that a war is even coming. She hasn’t been training them and Daemon barely pays attention to his own daughters, it makes sense he’s neglected to teach his stepsons how to fight. It also makes perfect sense Aemond who got maimed and had no backup from the King would see himself as having to protect himself, mom, and brother alone. He’s bigger because he took training seriously and Aegon is lazy so he’s basically stopped growing

Harry Collett is 5 11, why does he look so much shorter than everyone? Like at 1:41 Matt Smith is 6 0 only 1 inch taller in real life but in that shot he looks at least 6 inches taller. Weird.
To deliberately make himself look younger or “weaker”, maybe? I’m presuming he survives this series, so he might look taller in the second series as his character develops.
