Haha, the "brand new" XR150L - which I bought here in the Philippines in 2015 for $1650. It's been terrific, touring back roads and exploring jungle lltrails in the Bataan forest. By the way the little flipper covering the key slot in the gas cap will break off - they all do.
Bro I cant express how grateful I am for you and your videos. I may have commented in an earlier vidja that I got the SCL500 as my first bike and so the reassurances, inspiration, and confidence your vids are giving me are fawkin choice!
dude i’m following u from turkey, i love to watch ur videos. i own a cl250, sadly it is the only version comes to my country :(. U’re giving me inspiration to mod my bike.. thanks a lot. ride safe!!
The gold levers will look great on the grom even if it doesn't match perfectly. I'm really starting to like your 500. I havn't been the biggest fan since they came out but really growing on me now.
Looking good bro. I have the similar on my 14 cb500f. Same setup. Clutch is set at 2, brake at 4 or 5. Bitchin scrambler. We have the green color up here in 🇨🇦. 👍👊
9:53 is that a Z125 behind you??? If so, I completely either forgot you ordered a Z125 or just completely went over my head video wise. Awesome little bike, just completely must've forgot you had one.
I say stay with the black levers, they just look more sleek and match the vibe. I'm curious as to what and who's that little green machine is. Be safe, have fun, and don't get any tickets lol.
Burch my dude! I have to ask. Even if it's in a short. Can you and your girl do a quick 2 up ride? I'm super on the fence about the rebel 500 or scl500 and I really want to see it with a passenger. I can't find a video, image, anything with a passenger.
Cool video. I'm going to change them too. Stay with the black one. I already changed the muffler color to black, also the rear foot pads are black now. Got the CL rear rack. Everything is lot better now. And a new horn with a lot better sound , oh and grip puppies for the handlebars.
My Grom brake lever had that same amount of grab on the switch, and after about 2 months it has wore off the corner of the switch and has started to not function properly. It will probably happen to yours as well. My brake light gets stuck on now.
Clutch/Brake levers are the easiest but also biggest change you can make. On my first bike, my Rebel 300, when I had my accident which bent my clutch lever, I got to get custom levers. I got these awesome gold levers that were smaller and it made shifting/braking soooo much easier. I questioned why I didn't do that earlier.
@@LifeOfBurch it was partially my fault. At a stop sign to a highway. Lady goes, I look left and see nothing so I go. Well she ended up stopping in the lane. Nothing in front of her, just stopped. So I hit her and flipped over the handlebars. I was fine. My windshield exploded so it sounded horrible and my clutch was bent and scraps on my crash bars. Best part, she got out to check on me. After I said I was fine I started lifting my bike and then when I looked up next she was pulling off. Also this all happened RIGHT in front of my shop. The stop light out of the shops road XD
Are the Rebel 500 and SCL500 headers the same? Hate the high mount SCL muffler and would love to fit a Vance and Hines Rebel 500 Upswept on mine? I figure I could make the mount.
Do yourself a favor birch, when tightening down or breaking loose a bolt with a gear wrench, use the box end side. A friend told me this, because he had one break on him
Definitely a valid concern when working with something that requires a decent amount of force (especially with wrenches as cheap as mine lol) but I’ve never had an issue with something as simple as a lever install 👌🏻🤘🏻
Tip that helped me with these cheap levers: pull the small allen bolts, add loctite and screw them back together. Gets rid of some sloppy cheap lever feel.
These surprisingly have nearly zero of the typical “cheap lever slop” lol I was pleasantly surprised! I’ll definitely keep that tip in mind though because the Grom’s levers do have a little play if I’m remembering correctly.
I did too. Got a different kit than Burch did. Mine were SH-N17's using the link above. However, I freeze framed the video when he showed his lever package - it was an SH-N17/CBR. Different set. The set I got, the brake lever "tab" is too short (shorter than the one Burch pointed out) and won't hold back the brake light switch, which leaves the rear brake light illuminated. Trying to find a set that has a slightly longer tab.
Hit the link, bought the levers. The clutch lever doesnt fit. The hole in the lever for the bolt is to small. used another bolt to make it work. However there wasnt enough pul on the lever and the bike was constantly engaged. Can any one advise if there is a difference in the clutch between 2023 and 2024 models?
Hey man, just saw this. Part number is the same for 2023 and 2024 so only thing I can think is maybe you got sent a wrong lever? They should have free returns through Amazon so I’d try returning and retrying it, or reach out to the company through Amazon and see if they’ll send a new clutch lever. Sorry you’re having to deal with that!
Little late to the party. Dude, the black levers look sick. Stick with them over the gold. Even more importantly, how did you black out the forks? That is one of the most annoying things to me on my SCL.
Never mind. I found it. That vinyl wrap looked like a lot of work, but it looks awesome. I could have sworn I've watched that video before, but I totally don't remember seeing (paying attention to) that section.
That’s happening next! I’ve been holding off until I figure out which lights I want to go with cause I’m not a super big fan of the lights I have for the fender delete right now. Soon though!! Well…maybe a few weeks cause of trips I have planned…but soon-ISH 😂🤘🏻
Hey brotha do you not find it dangerous buying cheapo parts that play a very important roll? Like braking?!? I mean what if that thing broke when you need to stop quickly. Please rethink cheap aftermarket parts.
That’s actually a custom paint job that my neighbor had done, but Honda did make the second gen Grom in green. Oddly enough, Honda’s green is actually more lime/neon green than this one, and closer to Kawasaki’s green 🤔

I do be researching 💻🤓🔧

The bike is looking really good…can’t wait to get mine 😩
I just bought this bike in green! Picking it up in the morning. I cant wait. lol
Thanks for this tutorial I went with the same levers and it was as easy as cake! My first mod on my SCL500.
Nice mod!
Those levers look slick!
Well done Burch!

Thanks so much!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
dude my DRZ400sm got stolen and i replaced it with a Husqvarna 701sm. its such an awesome bike! if you venture away from honda you should check it out
Kind of a weird coincidence, but you live right next door to where i used to live back in high school 😂 small world
I have to ride motorcycles precariously through you since it’s been raining here so much lol happy football Sunday!
Yea this rain sucks! It’s rainy here all day, but should clear up all next week 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Great find!

Really need to get similar for my Rebel 500 se. I got wee hands.😊
im ready for the camping video

Just bought a SCL500 today. What do you use to get all the sticker goo off?
Want to come ride tail of the dragon with me?

Putting adjustable levers on my 300 is honestly probably still my favorite change I ever made. Game changer!
Yea dude levers are always a game changer! I don’t think I remembered that you got in an accident on your 300 😳

@@LinkFelton holy shit that’s crazy! Glad it wasn’t worse though! Any updates on the 1100? Is it sold already? 😭
@@LifeOfBurch No, not even anyone interested so far which is surprising.
Question regarding the exhaust. Has the lack of heat shield near your foot been an issue? I am considering getting one for mine.
What mirrors did you get on here do you have a link?
Yo have I missed a video? Tought you still had the white grom? Well the green one looks great!
I do still have the white Grom! The green one is my neighbor’s bike 😎🤘🏻
Oh my bad 😅 just rewatched that part and you clearly say it lol anyway keep up the good work!

I'll have to research a bit more haha
