Hey man I was looking to get an atv but I’m not sure how big of one I should get. Do these 250s have enough power to have a lot of fun? Or should I go bigger?
@@VinnyLaguardia Thanks for watching! The 250cc two-strokes like the TRX250R or LT250R have plenty of power to have a good time. You can always add intake, exhaust, jetting to add more power if you wanted. Another great entry level ATV with plenty of power is the TRX 400 or LTZ 400. These are 4-Stroke engines that are much easier to ride compared to the 2-stroke engines. Hope this helps!
Hmmm I do know a thing or two about two-strokes. Keep in mind this is the stock 34mm carb and a stock engine (66mm bore & stock head). Running a 160 main and 48 pilot. Needle is stock and on the third clip. The air screw is 1 1/2 turns out. Run 40:1 Amsiol Dominator oil. Pump gas & VP 110 50/50 mix. Compression is at 150psi and motor held steady at 6 psi for over 10 minutes when I performed the leak down test. Stator test good and plug is gapped correctly. With the machine being stock besides the pipe, I would say it’s runnin pretty good. Temp gauge consistently reads between 170-180F. Maybe the engine sounds flat with the audio but I can assure you it’s a blast to ride!

An absolutely perfect machine! Honda really knocked these things out of the park. Could make the argument this and a 400ex is the perfect garage
250R and a 400EX would be a perfect combo!
Awesome quad, now put some scratches on it
