DeSean Strickland was never going to lose to a guy who paints his nails.
Izzythetitty aka dogbender was in there with a great white! 💪💪Congratulations Sean!
"I will never lose to a guy who beats off to cartoon characters."
-DeSean Strickland
Ufc definitely spiked Izzys water to sell the rematch he looked way off😤 Izzy Ko’s the cracker in the rematch like he did Pereira watch💯💯💯
Chris Curtis by converting him to DeSean have him that punching power. 😂☠️
You’re an idiot
Strickland undefeated against men who beat off to cartoons. A man of his word.
He said exact that?
@@blablablaa14yes watch the press conference before Strickland fought Alex. He said it verbatim.
@@blablablaa14 *"No man who beats off to cartoons is ever gonna beat me"*
-Sean Strickland
😂
for all we know
Sean put on the greatest showcase of defense against Izzy. The shoulder roll, shell, teep kicks all were enough to neutralize Izzy’s point fighting, and the threat of the takedown wasn’t even needed. Sean beat him at his own game and won a convincing decision, arguably more impressive than a KO.
Teeps were so nice
And he knocked Izzy down in the first - He got the best of both worlds
@@xavierb9061teeps are sooo underrated, glad sean utilized it!
Yeah people really sleeping on the kicks to the mid section and the Checks. Thats what gave him to ability to apply pressure all night dude
@user-ux1kr1kh5w Floyd ?? Man yal stay going overboard smh
Sparring with Alex Periera did Strickland a whole lot of good. You can see that he was very patient in his approach and made sure he didn't do the mistake Alex did against adesanya.
pereira wouldve won that rematch, izzy got one of the most fluke ko wins in ufc history against pereira
@@draco2xx Rubbish. That KO was no fluke.
@@madgavin7568It was. Izzy's leg was gone completely, Poatan got cocky and paid the price. He was getting the better of Izzy until the KO
@@draco2xxhow on earth is that win a fluke when in every fight they've had Izzy has almost KO'd Alex with that exact sequence? In their last kickboxing match he almost finished him and Alex was saved by a standing 8 count, then he was saved by the bell in their first MMA fight at the end of round 1.
If anything it's Alex that's been lucky, Izzy hits that overhand right counter on him every time they fight. He just didn't have a ref or a bell to save him the last time
@@draco2xxYeah, c'mon man. I can't stand Izzy, and I'm over the moon with Strickland's win... but even I know that KO was 0% fluke.
He stood at mid range the whole fight! Never over committed to a retreat or an attack, just perfect distance and pressure. And he used a Philly shell defence in mma! That’s wild
ili tuporia also does the philly shell and decimated emmett in fashion
@@draco2xx Topuria has great boxing as well, he is going to KO midget man Volk to become UFC FW Champion.
@@randysingh9334 Dude Topuria ain't that big himself 😂 Seriously Volk is the better striker.
The Philly shell has been used in mma for a while dustin poirier used it against max holloway and yoel broke whittakers hand with his elbow
@@alexgriffin6785 Poirier just got murdered by a headkick, that Philly shell doesn't do anything against a shin to the head.
Who would have thought a wild man like Strickland would put on one of the most disciplined performances in ufc history.
This shows that he has always wanted a change in his life. Very well deserved, I'm very happy for him.
"And on this day, it was confirmed, Sean Strickland wouldn't lose to man who beats off to cartoons"
- Morgan Freeman.
*BOOM!* lol
Dana's got that "hello darkness my old friend" look in his face 🤣
*haha!*
Bruh i had tears in my eyes when he started to yell at izzy during the end of the fight(probably releasing those demons from his past) as he thought he is finally going to be champion
Oh ffs... tears?
@@eddiebear34Yes, what Sean did was impressive idk if I would cry, but maybe this guy has been in a way Sean has and to see the way he came back from his injury is very inspiring.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
@@MultiBearsfan54 This game gives us a level of drama that you can't get anywhere else. And yeah, it reaches your soul too
It’s not that deep lil bro
it was the most emotion ive ever seen from him for sure
Sean beating Izzy by unanimous decision is just insane, one of the most shocking upsets in MMA today, MMA's such a crazy unpredictable sport
I'm saying I never saw it coming izzys time is over Alex taught everyone how to beat him
Glad I didn’t bet on this one after just losing money on Aljo. Lol crazy sport
no izzy comes back from this
Poatan did his part training Strickland for this fight. Well deserve Champ.
The problem was he was walking down Izzy and he could not throw any kicks. His opponents never walked Izzy down. This was his first time witnessing someone walking him down like this. This is pain lol
Lol Pereira walked izzy down both fights wym😂 Pereira DOMINATED both fights until that punch. Izzy has been done
@@eduardorosas3432 not to this degree. Every second he was behind the cage. He had no control of the cage. In his fight with alex he had some what control of the cage.
@everettenjeze6276 I agree sean put on an amazing performance. But Alex was a couple punches from knocking out izzy for the 2nd(3rd overall) time. 😅soo I still give it to Alex for being the most dominant stalker and performance
@@ec9697 tbh that too. I could def tell all the pressure was on him to knock him out via head kick. Everyone betting him to win def got to him but that’s martial arts nobody is guaranteed anything.
Yep, only round he lost, guess what, that was when Strickland stood back and took pictures then just got like leg kicked at range, then his coach immediately set him straight in the corner
I enjoyed Teddy's commentary about how Izzy needed to string more punches together while also giving credit to Rashad and Dean.
Really nice to see Teddy here again since Strickland is basically a boxer.
You have to love Teddy's commentary, legendary.
Was looking for this comment! He did it beutifuly
*Masterclass performance by Sean.*

This is just the greatest. I’m so excited for Strickland content
A guy that was dismissed as having no chance went in there and beat Izzy at his own game. Never in a million years did I think he'd be able to out-Izzy Izzy with that forward boxing style. Izzy being one of the greatest counterstrikers in the sport couldn't leave a mark on Sean. Wow.
"No man that beats off to cartoons is going to beat me!" Sean Strickland
Styles make fights...crowding izzy is the strategy that works..perfect answer to feints and traps
Seans constant walking forward seemed to frustrate izzy. He didn't know what to do with it.
Not a clue
His pressure made Izzy feel under threat while his patience gave nothing for Izzy to counterstrike.
@@sallgoodman2323 and Sean constantly countered Izzys shots. His coach mentioned the Counters are what made Adesanya so hesitant.
The key was walking him down...getting him to right spot...then doing nothing
@@xavierb9061yes .
DESEAN HAS DONE IT AND EXPOSES DOGBENDER MAKE SURE WE CAN SAVE ADESANYA’S DOG
Just the manner in which Sean beat Izzy, makes this one of the biggest upsets in recent times.
They completely understated what Strickland was doing for defense. His was checking kicks to the midsection. Against the cage Izzy is so much more hittable. Izzy wasn’t slow, he was exposed
It's not complicated. Strickland was just far too slick for Izzy. People were sleeping on him but I had a feeling he could pull it off. He's a slick pressure fighter with great cardio who can apply constant pressure whilst possessing this uncanny ability to make you miss with your own shots at a very high rate and Izzy has never fought someone like that before.
It was a display of brilliant defensive fighting on the front foot. Izzy just couldn't land or keep Strickland from walking him down. Had Izzy stood still Strickland would've knocked him out.
Since the fight was announced I've been telling my brother Strickland would win and that his striking is super underrated, because its so simplistic in approach, but he's actually a master of the basics and knows how to just sit there in the punching pocket for an entire round, chipping away at his opponents and forcing them to miss.
I had no idea his eyes were that good when it comes to checking leg kicks..but he did bite on alot of feints, something izzy failed to capitalise on. If they do fight again. Getting Sean to check fiented leg kicks, and head hunting less. Will be his route to sucsess.
@@StigPrice Yes, I just had a funny feeling. He's extremely deceptive but highly effective and he has superb defence and great boxing and his eyes are as sharp as an eagle's.
He's beaten a lot of really good fighters and with the exception of Pereira who is massive for the weight, hits like a truck, and let's not forget is 3-1 against Izzy 2 via KO, his style causes them fits and it does so for a reason.
Many feel he was unlucky against Cannonier who is a big punching beast but either way that was a razor-close fight and he was able to hold his own and avoid all those big bombs and take the ones he couldn't.
That sour look on Dana's face putting that belt on Sean is priceless!!
I have never been so happy for a UFC fighter!
Teddy was metaphorical all day 😄
Love hearing from Teddy pure genius
Sean strickland was the TOP DOG 😂😂😂
"set the table with the jab, ate with the right hand" teddy is awesome
Gotta say i love this crew of guys right here, and as far as Izzy the man lost his touch in the power hand. Guys can walk him down now.
That focus Sean had from the walk out. He could of caught a fly with chopsticks.
I like that Sean beat Izzy by decision, so there can't be any claim that it was luck. Sean's 2-3 punch combos and pressure were razor sharp and his defense impenetrable.
Teddy Atlas, king of the metaphors.
I love that he's come over from boxing, where he seems to be blacklisted for his honest takes and blasting the alphabet organizations, over to MMA. His great insight on striking, fighting, and the mind of a combat fighter should be appreciated and respected.
THE MAN DANCE
Let's go!!! Rooting for him the whole time 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
That was an impressive fight.
Sean pulled a perfect text book win. Well calculated and positioned. Consistent and basic as Ted said.
That training with Alex definitely helped as well
Always love Teddys breakdowns!
Biggest win of strickland is not getting leg kick and checked effectively.
Teddy atlas is really a great addition to the MMA community
Guy contained Izzy's kicks and then 1-2'd him the whole fight lol
Teddy with the greatest analogies😂
Really showcases how much good gameplanning and putting the hours in can work wonders. Strickland is historically not good at dealing with leg kicks at all, takes him a round or two until he starts trying to deal with them (either checking or trying to grab them). Right hand always overextends to parry, which means you can wrap something around him (head kick, left hook), not good at cutting the cage either. All of these things he and his team worked on diligently to minimise these and uses his teep a lot. Worked great for him.
Masterclass by Strickland, Masterclass by Atlas
Did anyone notice the typo at 2:52? Three 9 - 9 rounds on Werner's scorecard.
Din Thomas and Rashad are awesome, they make this cast.
Congrats to Sean for such a dominant performance! He really didn’t give Izzy that much room, Sean didn’t over extend, and the result was outstriking Izzy! UFC 5 just put Izzy as the cover too...yikes
The stabbing front kick and Philly defense played a big part.
izzy does not deserve the rematch after fighting backwards the entire time and losing 4 rounds. izzy is 3-2 in his last 5. 1-2 in last 3. only reason dana is pushing for rematch is because sean is difficult to deal with as a champion
@@DanHook-ke7gk i sound bored of kicking at range izzy for 25 mins.
EFFICIENT : that was the name of strickland's ufc 293 championship performance
Gender Bender goes down...
😢 his poor puppy is going to get a pounding tonight
When he got dropped it reminded me of what Roy Jones said about James Toney fight , “now he knows I can knock him down , he doesn’t want to get embarrassed so now IM in the driver seat”
Strickland outboxed Adesanya so simple
Adesanya is so susceptible to straight shots and looping shots especially backing up because he ALWAYS pulls away far back , I always said a good fighter with good boxing fundamentals could beat him , Kelvin had success and even Romero with the only overhand thrown had Adesanya hesitant
“Set the table all night with his left hand .. ate with his right” love teddy atlas.
I'm glad I didn't bet on this one. Great job Strick and ESPN crew! And New!
Love Sean!
1:25
" with that kind of ability to make his own music. This guy kind of really pulled the plug on the music"
I laughed soo hard at that, that was gold 😂
Teddy with the best analogy!
torch is superior to the flashlight in every way lol
Bad luck for Izzy he faced another Alex Pereira, this time a more calculated and disciplined version. But props to Alex as well for exposing Izzy.
Funny thing is periera helped strickland in sparring and preparing for this match…
@@yoobro9579 i didnt know that. Crazy that alex koed sean as well.

Teddy with the beautiful analogies. Sean is crazy like a fox and that was an x factor among other things listed.
This shouldn't have been an upset at all. Strickland has always been technical and fought all contenders. There are actually many similarities between Adesanya and Strickland besides throwing leg kicks.
Teddys takes are so good
Israel looked he was afraid of Strickland’s jab all the time and was always running away.
Teddy Atlas is a combat sports goat 🐐
Sean did what valtolini, don't remember the name did to a flashy dude, constantly in his face ,calm, pressure.
Teddy must have loved seeing DeSean win with good basic boxing
Clemens Werner scorecard doesn't make sense. Same numbers every round, but the total number is different.
The referee made a great job in the first round I was amazed.
Incredible
He did have a couple of flashy combo counters. But that one two did in fact drop the man. Insane. Lololol
Din Thomas was the only guy on that table not getting hit by Sean's armpit
9-9 first round on the Werner scorecard? Is that a misprint? It was a 10-8 first round. Period . Sean Strickland has captured lightning in a bottle and is deservingly BlowingTFU ! Simply AWESOME! Love and props from a like minded Texan 👍🏻💯🇺🇸❕
I think it was very important that he never chased Israel to the fence when he would back up. He would throw one or two then let him circle out.
U guys gotta put teddy atlas in the title and thumb nail for these. Reason i tune in to see his boxing analysis
Strickland did not over commit and controlled the distance
I feel bad for the dude who bet 200,000 on israel
Bring all them belts back to the U.S.A 🇺🇸. All American champions
Time of the sean
I can’t believe I haven’t been betting on these, I’ve predicted both the Sean and suga upsets correctly. Would have been up by good!
Funny thing they both named sean…
Izzy needs to learn how to use throw away shots to land real power around those perries, and be more aggressive, he has the hand speed to walk these guys down instead of always relying on the counter
Sean the great white💪👊
Judge Clemens Werner smokin crack lol
Izzythetitty aka dogbender was in there with a great white! 💪💪Congratulations Sean!
Teddy dropping knowledge…..🙏🏽
No way Clemens Werner scored the first round 9-9 and the second round 10-10. ESPN is elite mma broadcasting
Keep getting Teddy on guys great job!
Just quietly Aussies love Strickland way more because he's relatable.
I always never understood why opponents never just cut off Izzy’s use of kicks by being in his face and forcing him to fight in a phone booth. He doesn’t like that much, his bread and butter is picking you apart from the outside. Strickland just showed everyone the correct way to fight adesanya
that defence is what won him the fight all the punches and kicks he just checked like it was nothing izzy had no choice but to wait on the counter the entire time
Yes, kept his hands up and blocked a lot.
Desean Brought the Dog in him and Israel was shooked
(Izzy did not adjust) The first thing I noticed is Izzy never adjusted to Sean's half "Philly Shell Guard"🤦♂️ (squared stance not even full guard🤦♂️🤦♂️) even after his coach told him in round 4 that he needed to take a risk to win.. That said, when Izzy engaged Sean ,fainted, or threw leg kicks, Sean had no head movement and would just pull his body back as his guard would rise and just lean back.. I WAS VERY SURPRISED THAT IZZY DID NOT CAPATALISED on Sean's mistakes-openings in the form off droping levels w/ a lead cross to lower midsection AS SEAN JUST LEAN BACK IN A SQUARED STANCE..
Instead of that, Izzy chose to occasionally just flicked a jab to the body with occasional lead to body BUT, NOT DROPPING LEVELS AND TURNING HIS PUNCH OR HIPS TO DELIVER THAT(that was open the whole fight).. More than Sean winning because of a good gamplan.. Izzy LOST cause he had a failed game plan AND DID NOT ADJUST 💯💯
