Thank you this was so helpful and you're very knowledgeable and well spoken. Just thought I'd let you know, coming from someone that makes car videos as well. I really learned a lot and enjoyed it
Ironically enough I've ran a fake MVS and a real MVS on my twin turbo stealth and the Genuine Tial unit failed in the closed position (valve stem bound up in the guide) causing an odd over boost condition while the fake one was like a hotdog in hall way and moved freely with out issue.
hahaha love you input, im trying to drill this in peopls heads. whos is gonna pay 900$ for a wastegate. buy a fake and put a real diaphragm in it problem solved
Am not 100% sure about the two top ports for the two upper air ports. So I have two option to use either of those port as for upper port to the boost solenoid right? You know where it say MVS, that's more to the side, and another is on top port. Just want to be clear, if I only want to use one port that's meant I can use either one of it and still control same functionally and result ? Thanks alot.
My 1st Tial 38mm wastegate lasted 1yr or 12000km it failed a few months back then I bought another original new Tial wastegate again and it’s stuck closed again almost blew my motor and car up 2.8 bar boost creep only did 3000km, I was really hoping I was sold a fake one but I was sold a original one thanks for the video it help me figure out than I need to change wastegate brands
Yeah, I never used this fake one. I made the video because I got ripped off into thinking it was the real Tial unit. So I wanted to help others make sure they knew what they were buying. I've personally heard most of the fake ones leak but I know that some of them are probably fine.
@@MeanMāoriM3an I never got a chance to use the Fake one so I can not say. I've heard the fake ones do not perform as well but not everyone has had that issue. I decided to not risk it and just buy genuine parts.
yayaya absolutely I buy the fake tial almost the same with real tial it is not much difference copy gred triple AAA I use almost 4year and no issue no problem I got 1.7psi very high boost and 1.2bar low boost for daily driving
@@ChelszH How much did you pay for the fake!? And whats wrong with it. You should be good to go the worst ive seen is machining dust... any part should be taken apart and washed anyways... and one dude's wasnt QC'd and needed to be hit with sand paper so it actuated smoothly.
@@Robert-vp6xf I don't remember how much I paid for it now, But i think it was somewhere around half the price of a real Tial (which I wanted a Genuine Tial Wastegate, it's my fault for not doing the proper research prior to buying). To my knowledge I don't believe anything was "wrong" with it I just prefer to have genuine parts in my car besides some knockoff.
I had mine and pushed 24lbs on daily and had no problems stop being biest and talk about if it works like the last guy said you can use real parts and swap but also you can mod the wastegate to be just as effective
Ya'll need to chill. This is an informative video about how to tell the difference between a fake and real Tial Wastegate if you are looking to buy a REAL Tial. If you buy a knock off, I don't care. I'm sure they work like everyone says. Again, not the point of this video.

Appreciate it! =]
they both work
But you don't want to pay full price for a knockoff

Tighter tolerances make a world of a difference
Does the original v band clamp work on a fake ?

Glad to help! That sucks you've had such bad luck with them. Hopefully a different brand won't fail on your setup!
Compare two used wastegate, there is only one used and other new.
Diego Villaverde well I would have but Didn’t have the money to buy a new fake or the capability to use my new real one yet.
Damn that knock-off looks really genuine.
Am glad I got real MVS one.
I mean besided spring pressure... The fake is fine. I got my 25$ wastegate right here in my grubby hands

@@ChelszH did u feel the difference between the two perfomance wise? Thanks for the vid btw 👍

But did it work??? That's the real question!
Never tried it actually. I got ripped off on it thinking it was real which is why I decided to make this video.
Fyi the authentic Tial diaphragm fits and works perfectly in the knockoff ;)
They work great bro
In my counterfeit Tial I changed the diaphragm and valve seat to genuine Tial pieces. 3 years ago. Not a lick of trouble.
used vs new
You sure one osnt an older model?
You know you can buy the fake and rebuild it with the real trial parts right 😂🤣😂🤣
yep haha tial diaphragm
yayaya absolutely I buy the fake tial almost the same with real tial it is not much difference
copy gred triple AAA I use almost 4year and no issue no problem I got 1.7psi very high boost and 1.2bar low boost for daily driving
So just changing the digraph for real one
Or what other modify can you do
why not get two new ones, your comparing a used unit with a new one
Compare new va new lot old vs new
Didn't have money to buy both new, already had the knock off that I got ripped off on. Just did a comparison on what I had.
Nothing discussed in the video would change with use. Besides PERHAPS the seat fitment.

You mensioned every thing apart from the most obvious. The serial number on all of the fakes ends in 600
Someone else mentions down below, he has a fake and his serial Number is different...
Just read the Serial number at top the fakes are all the same SN
No they are not mines is not the same I looked bozo
Non mvr that one is replica!👎ebay
Yeah, the Blue one is a knock off one. The Black one was purchased from a verified direct dealer of Tial.
